Happy Father's Day Weekend, Friends, and Happy Flag Day and 250th Anniversary of the Army...

Father’s Day is such a special time to pause and thank God for the gift of fathers, those strong, steady, and faithful men who lead with unconditional love.

First and foremost, we all have the constant love of our Heavenly Father, whom we can always turn to for direction and peace.

I feel incredibly grateful for my own Daddy, a hardworking farmer whose hands are strong from working the land but whose heart is gentle, steady, and rooted in faith. Whether he’s out in the fields working from sunrise to sunset or quietly praying over our family, my Daddy leads with love, strength, and humility. I thank God every day for the blessing of being raised by a father who leads with quiet strength and a momma whose love and faith have always been the heart of our home.

A very Happy Father's Day to all the dads, fathers, daddies, da-das, grandpas, grandaddies, grandfathers, pa-pas, and more who visit here!

Whether you're honoring your father, grandfather, or a father figure in your life, I hope this special day is filled with love, gratitude, and sweet memories!

Happy Flag Day and 250th Anniversary of the Army

Celebrate this patriotic day by watching the Army's 250th Birthday Parade, fireworks, and more festivities!

My father served in the Army, so this event is especially meaningful to our family, and I can imagine that those of you with family and friends who have also served in the Army feel a similar pride in their contributions and in our country.

This timing of this feels particularly significant considering all that is unfolding worldwide. When the news of the bombing came across the TV last night (Thursday), I froze for a minute, then I started praying for peace for America and our allies throughout the world. May God be with all who serve to protect our freedom.

This special event to honor the Army on Saturday, June 14th, will be televised by numerous media outlets, including Real America's Voice, RSBN, Fox News, Newsmax, and Merit TV, among others.

Movie Reviews "To Barcelona, with Love" :

🎬 What a disappointment! Once again Hallmark ruined a perfectly good movie , the Barcelona movie, by introducing a gay attraction. Don’t know what happened after that because I switched channels. ~Anonymous

🎬 My husband and I watched "To Barcelona, with Love" last night. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about it. I adore Alison and Ashley. They both did a good job in the movie. Bonus points for a different storyline (with regard to Alison and Ashley only) and for a gorgeous location. And, I thought Alison and Ashley's friendship was sweet and believable.

*** Spoiler Alert ** However, there were several things that bothered me. There was a same-sex storyline that disappointed me. Why?? And, I did not think Nico had chemistry with either one of the female leads. Seriously, I felt Alison and Ashley had better chemistry. I don't think I will watch the second installment. ~Joan

🎬 About the 45-50 minute mark in To Barcelona With Love, I deleted it. There is a same sex side couple who meet and it's very obvious this is no longer family friendly. Very disappointed but with Ashley Williams and Alison Sweeny I was leery of this movie and had my guard up. Sad as it was a fresher story. ~Anonymous

MERRY MOVIE WEEKEND is NEXT WEEKEND - June 21st and June 22nd - on Hallmark Mystery!

And if you're wondering... yes, the network changed the title of the event from Merry Movie Week to Merry Movie Weekend, as the event now takes place only on Saturday and Sunday. (What does this mean for the Christmas movie season on Hallmark Mystery? Will the network scale back its Christmas programming, too? What's your guess? Please share in comments below.)

Although the celebration on Hallmark Mystery is smaller this year during their annual Christmas in June, the Hallmark Channel will more than make up for it... with their celebration beginning June 27th and lasting the whole month of July! Plus, you'll find Christmas classics from the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery, too! Be sure to look for your favorites in the Christmas Movie Schedule.

It's Official! Hallmark Drama is now Hallmark Family - Details Here:

As of today, the end of an era has come as Hallmark Drama is rebranded to Hallmark Family. If you turn to the channel, you will now see the Hallmark Family logo, which has replaced Hallmark Drama in the lower right-side corner of the screen.

You can see the difference in these two images...

The network also released a new promo - giving viewers an idea of what the new Hallmark Family name means, and it appears the channel will air more of the same content we are used to - family dramas, like Little House on the Prairie and The Waltons and classic Hallmark movies.

The New Logo Look:

As I was creating this post and staring at the new logo versus the old, I noticed how the company name, Hallmark, has become smaller, while the word Family is far bigger than Drama in the previous logo. The emphasis is strategically focused on the word Family over Hallmark, which I find to be rather interesting.

I pulled up my Frndly TV programming guide to see if changes had been made there, and yes, they have. For those of you who have this streaming service, if you don't have your Frndly TV guide in alphabetical order, then you should find Great American Family and Hallmark Family side by side in the guide. It was easier to tell the two apart before, but now that Hallmark Drama is Hallmark Family, I'm wondering if that might confuse some viewers into thinking they are watching Great American Family. It makes one wonder?

I know Great American Family and Hallmark Family aren't close on DirecTV, but are they close (in channel number) through other cable services?

Anyway, I wanted to be sure to mention this big change for Hallmark Drama to Hallmark Family today. Is this a channel you watch often or plan to watch more of since the rebranding? I must say, I don't watch regularly, but every now and then, I tune in when the network plays a classic Hallmark movie I love from years back.

TV this Weekend:

I'm excited about another GAC Family movie marathon on Saturday, and I'm looking forward to hearing Rosemary's news in the all new "When Calls the Heart." I sure it ends up being what I'm *expecting* it to be! (Get the pun?)

Speaking of expecting mothers, actress Jen Lilley is about to give birth to a precious little baby girl any day now. What a perfect time to re-watch her movie, Royally Wrapped For Christmas, on GAC Family - this Mother's Day weekend. It's a good reminder that we should honor our mothers, wrap them up a heartfelt gift, and treat them like royalty!

As for new movies this weekend... As I mentioned above, I had the opportunity to pre-screen the UPtv movie, Yellowstone Romance, and you can see my full review - *here*.

Mother's Day:

In honor of this Mother's Day Weekend, I want to say, once again, how thankful I am to have such an incredible, beautiful Momma, who is always so loving and caring. Royally Wrapped for Christmas

In “Royally Wrapped for Christmas,” Lindsay Peterson (Lilley) of Brooklyn, NY, heads up one of the most successful chapters of the Festive Heart Foundation, a philanthropic organization dedicated to underserved children and founded by the Royal Family of Veronia. The foundation will commemorate its centennial this holiday and Lindsay is summoned to the kingdom to plan the celebratory gala. Before she embarks to Veronia, Lindsay meets the charity’s President, Willard, and a pleasant man, Aiden (Fehr), who Lindsay mistakenly believes is the organization’s accountant. Willard persuades Lindsay to join him and two other organizers from the global charity in Veronia. It is there Lindsay discovers the “accountant” is really Crown Prince Aiden who is to ascend the throne after his mother, Queen Rayna. This holiday, the Liddles have much to be merry about! Jacquie Liddle (Kelly Rowland) and her husband Tyler (Thomas Cadrot) are preparing for the arrival of their first baby. You may have noticed in the list above, I did not include the movie: A Christmas Witness, which is also premiering Sunday night on ION. I have decided not to promote this movie based on it's rating: TV-PG D,L,S,V. The movie includes dialogue, language, sex and violence. Needless to say, it doesn't sound like a wholesome family film, so I'll be skipping this one.

There are several, however, I am looking forward to seeing: The Nine Kittens of Christmas, Angel Falls Christmas, Reba McEntire's Christmas in Tune, Royally Wrapped for Christmas, Christmas at Castle Hart, Time for Them to Come Home for Christmas, Christmas is You and The Christmas Contest! And more!

I'm kinda on the fence about The Waltons’ Homecoming (remake), but I'm curious, too. It's so hard to top the original, which I love! Plus, they actually removed one of the children - Ben! I personally feel that was a big mistake. On a brighter note, I have heard they created this specifically with the idea of keeping the family and faith elements of The Waltons' series from the 1970's intact - so that is positive news. Hopefully, this movie will compliment the original drama. In case you are not able to watch it on TV, the new remake movie The Waltons: Homecoming 2021 is now available to order on DVD at Amazon.
