🎄 Mario Lopez Currently Filming New Christmas Movie - See Co-star & More Cast, including a "Saved By The Bell" Alum

Start spreadin' the news!!! 🌟

Exciting news is beginning to spread as Mario Lopez and Tony Danza are filming their upcoming Great American Family Christmas movie in New York!

Their Christmas film, previously known as "Christmas at The Starlight," has changed, according to recent press reports, to the new title: "Rewinding Christmas."

Amid their busy filming schedule, both Mario Lopez and Tony Danza took time to speak with members of the local press in Buffalo, New York.

This is their interview via WGRZ-TV, Channel 2:
(click the arrow button below to play)

And what else has been revealed? More of the cast!

Of course, we already knew that Mario's son, Dominic Lopez ("Chasing Christmas"), a rising star in his own right, would be portraying his on-screen son.

However, it has also been revealed that Natalia Cigliuti ("Saved by the Bell: The New Class") will play Mario's sister (pictured in first image above), while Taylor Kalupa ("Silver Bells at Christmas") will portray his love interest (pictured below).

As for the movie's storyline, Mario Lopez shared these interesting details with wnypapers.com: "In “Rewinding Christmas,” “My character comes back home to kind of visit his dad (Tony Danza). He was up for a big promotional job. It didn't exactly sort of work out. He has a ‘come to Jesus’ with his son . … He's now a single father. He meets this lady who he's kind of now interested in, and kind of staying. When he does that, his father decides to kind of sell the place and throws everything into a bit of a monkey wrench and turmoil,” Lopez said. “I don't want to give too much away. We all end up kind of figuring it out; and it's all about family and love at the end of the day, and kind of focusing on priorities and what's important.”

It's also been revealed that the movie will definitely include a little song-and-dance! I'm so thrilled this has been officially confirmed!

✨ Meet the New TV Movies Premiering This Weekend & More Surprises!

Happy Weekend, Friends!

It may not be officially summer just yet, but wow, it sure has felt like it! The heat has definitely arrived, and I hope you're all finding ways to stay cool while still enjoying some sunshine. I've been soaking up every chance to be outside on our farm, enjoying these beautiful days. And I'm especially grateful that the humidity will finally be easing up for us this weekend!

One of my favorite ways to wind down after a warm summer day is with a good movie, and this weekend gives us not one, but two brand-new romantic comedies to enjoy: Meet Me in the Margins and Texas Two-Step!

Plus, Great American Family has added three movies to their schedule that have been available through streaming. They may be familiar to some of you, but since these movies are making their channel debut, this is great news for those of us who haven't had a chance to watch them all yet.

See details for all of these movies below...

Don't Miss "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries" Thrilling Season One Finale Tonight - Details Here:

What a wonderful first season it has been for "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries," and tonight is the big season finale at 9pm/8c on UPtv!

We've enjoyed a delightful mix of suspenseful, yet lighthearted, family-friendly mysteries set in the charming Amish community of Sugarcreek, Ohio. (Thankfully, none involving murder!)

Throughout the season, we've come to know and love Cheryl (played by Galadriel Stineman), who has been managing her Aunt Mitzi's gift shop while her aunt is away serving on the mission field.

As Cheryl has settled into life in Sugarcreek, she's earned a reputation for helping others and solving mysteries alongside her friend, Naomi Miller (Denise Gossett), a local Amish woman.

Along the way, Cheryl has also developed a special connection with Naomi's son, Levi (Kevin Joy). Their growing friendship and attraction is challenging, though, since Levi is Amish and Cheryl is not.

One of the things I've especially appreciated about Cheryl is how important her Christian faith is to her. She attends church, seeks God's guidance, and genuinely desires to follow His plan for her life. But where is God leading her? Is Sugarcreek where she truly belongs?

That question may be answered in the season finale!

Episode details via UPtv:

Season 1, Episode 8 -

WHEN THERE'S A WILL - A missing deed, county corruption, and a race against time threaten Levi’s land and future.

FINALE THOUGHTS:

Can Cheryl help Levi and his family track down his uncle's missing will before the family land is sold to someone else?

No spoilers here, but I have to say this was such a fun and exciting mystery to unravel! The clues, twists, and race against time made for an engaging puzzle, while Cheryl's ongoing car troubles added some great humor and lighthearted moments along the way.

And then there's Cheryl and Levi. It's clear these two care deeply about each other, but what does the future hold for them?

The cast is already filming Season 2 on location in Sugarcreek, Ohio... so there are likely more mysteries... and hopefully, more Cheryl and Levi moments ahead, too!

WHERE TO WATCH:

Have you missed any episodes of Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries? You can stream the complete first season on UP Faith & Family. Click here for details!

Happy sleuthing in Sugarcreek!

County Rescue Review:

I watched the finale of County Rescue yesterday (Thursday) on Pure Flix, and it was every bit as deep and emotional as the episodes leading up to it. One of the things I continue to appreciate most about this series is the strong faith element, including the meaningful scriptures woven throughout every episode. I also enjoyed seeing the friendships among the rescue team continue to grow and strengthen.

The storm added some tension and drama to the episode, drawing everyone together for a meaningful conversation. One of my disappointments is that we don't always get to see how every emergency call ultimately turns out. I don't need to see every detail, but it would be nice to get a little more closure and know how some of the patients are doing when they're taken to the hospital.

In this episode in particular, Dani is out on a serious call and helping a woman, and then in the next scene or so - she's back at the station like nothing happened. So, we have no clue what really happened.

Overall, though, it was a heartfelt episode. While there are uplifting moments, there are also scenes that are reflective and quite emotional. If you're walking through the grief of losing a loved one, this episode, and the series as a whole, may offer some comfort, encouragement, and hope for your healing journey.

The end felt as if they are leaving the door open for another season, but we'll see. ~Net

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hope you are looking forward to the new Summer Nights movie! I'm hearing it's a great mix of romance and comedy. I'm getting the feel that it may be (in the comedic sense) a lot like Missing the Boat or Lost in Paradise. Anyway, that's my hope!

In case you missed it, you can see my review of County Rescue above.

Have a Blessed Weekend,

From Book-to-Screen: "Dancing by the Moonlight" is Coming to TV

( image credit: Author Angie Ellington )

Exciting news for book lovers and movie fans! Another story is making the journey from page to screen! Author Angie Ellington recently shared the news that her novel, Dancing By the Moonlight, will be adapted into a TV movie and streaming feature.

It hasn't been revealed, yet, which network has acquired rights to this book (see update below!); however, another of Angie's books, Autumn at Apple Hill, was made into a Hallmark Channel Original Movie in the Fall of 2024.

Angie Ellington shared this news with great enthusiasm with her followers:
"Over the moon 🌙 to be given permission to share that…𝘿𝘼𝙉𝘾𝙄𝙉𝙂 𝘽𝙔 𝙏𝙃𝙀 𝙈𝙊𝙊𝙉𝙇𝙄𝙂𝙃𝙏 💃📚is officially in development for a movie, & hoping to air 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒔𝒖𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓! That’s all I can say, but thrilled to be able to share the book! I hope you’ll join my excitement & read or listen to Olivia & Brady’s story (there’s a second book in the duology to continue the story also set at Christmas—that book isn’t in development-at least not now). So pumped!!!"

As we await more news on this movie premiere (see update below!), check out details for this story...

Storyline via Amazon:

"Olivia Shields is back in Carlisle Bay, Connecticut, after having traveled the world as a professional ballet dancer. Dancing was her life. Chasing performance dreams is all she's ever known or planned for. One summer she spent in Carlisle Bay before heading to Juilliard left her both heartbroken and more focused on her career than ever. A back injury has forced some changes. She'll take on a new role as the manager of her aunt's coastal boutique. After all, she's completely over the boy who broke her heart forever ago. Brady Carlisle has recently returned to Carlisle Bay; the hometown of his family's namesake. He's spent the last decade in California, designing and patenting surfboards. Becoming his own man without relying on the Carlisle name is all he's ever wanted. Just as life seems to be getting on track, the boutique could be lost. The Shields women have got a few storms to weather. They aren't the only ones. The Carlisle family has held on to secrets for over a decade. Thankfully, these two former summer sweethearts have the kind of friends who make life's damaged surfaces less difficult to repair with wit and humor. Recapturing a summer love swept out at sea thirteen years earlier can be as rough as a stormy sea. Will secrets and heartache of the past keep them apart? Life may not always be smooth sailing along the shores of Carlisle Bay, and fireworks are sure to be found."

The storyline above is based on the Dancing By the Moonlight book. Some details may be slightly changed as the story is adapted for film.

UPDATE: (June 12, 2026) Author Angie Ellington has revealed (via her socials) that her book Dancing by the Moonlight is being made into a Hallmark movie… coming next year!

Note: I haven't personally read this book, but if you have, please share a review in comments below.

CHRISTMAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION

(previously known as: Renovation Romance)

Saturday, July 4, 8 pm ET/PT

Stars: Jessica Lowndes and Daniel Lissing

Chelsea (Lowndes) and Jake (Adam Hurtig, A Suite Holiday Romance) are America’s sweethearts and the stars of a hit reality show, Renovation Romance, where they help couples transform their homes and relationships. For a live Christmas special, they’re tasked with renovating a cozy New Hampshire cabin alongside a new duo, Cooper (Lissing) and Janice (Samantha Kendrick, The Snow Must Go On). But behind the festive cheer, Chelsea and Jake’s relationship is fading. As their latest project progresses, it becomes clear to Chelsea that she and Jake have different priorities in life and must decide if their relationship can be salvaged or if it’s time for a fresh start.

Movie Reviews for CHRISTMAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION (Renovation Romance):

🎄 Renovation Romance - Just wanted to let y’all know that a new Christmas movie with Jessica Lowndes and Daniel Lissing called Renovation Romance is now on Hulu. It was really cute!

A heads up that both of them have significant others when they start the movie because I know that can bother some people with storylines like that. But I do feel that the breakups are very interesting and the communication is rather profound during those scenes so I feel like it was surprisingly handled pretty well. Even though I don’t mind those storylines usually I was a bit nervous at how they were going to handle it considering it was going to be two relationships ending. It was so good to see Jessica Lowndes and Daniel Lissing together again! I loved them together in A December Bride and watch it a couple times each Christmas season because it makes me smile so it made me really happy to see them together again in a new movie. They really have great chemistry together!

While it was clean, they are working with couples who aren’t necessarily married yet that are renovating homes (at least in the opening scene and in the relationship between Daniel Lissing and his significant other) it is never implied that they live together. Really enjoyed the movie! ~Sara S.

🎄 Renovation Romance – (watched this through Hulu) This movie was nice, but not very Christmassy. I mean, they didn’t even put anything Christmas related in the title. Minus the Christmas decor, it felt like it could’ve taken place almost any time of the year.

We first meet Chelsea (Jessica Lowdnes) & Jake (Adam Hurtig) who host their own TV show where they renovate homes and they are a real-life couple. Basically, they are like Chip and Joana Gaines, except Chelsea and Jake aren’t married.

Chelsea is feeling the need for a break from work, but her boyfriend, Jake, persuades her to take on one last project during the Christmas season that could elevate their careers to new levels. The house they choose to renovate is owned by Daniel Lissing’s character, Cooper. It’s already stunning in its structure and beautifully decorated for the holidays, making the idea of renovating and redecorating seem unnecessary. Honestly, I didn’t notice any significant alterations, perhaps just an additional Christmas tree or some garland, but nothing too drastic.

As Sara S. pointed out (in her review above), the opening scene subtly indicates that the couple, for whom Chelsea and Jake are decorating and renovating a home, is living together, so there are both pros and cons with this movie.

The cons... Daniel Lissing and Jessica Lowdes’ characters are both involved in long-term relationships with other people when they meet; however, it's clear that both couples are facing challenges. Honestly, watching the two couples struggle with their relationships felt a bit exhausting throughout the film. Aside from the Christmas decorations, the story didn't really capture the essence of the holiday season for me.

The pros... Renovation Romance is lighthearted and family-friendly, and it was enjoyable to see Jessica and Daniel share the screen again, especially after their previous film, A December Bride, which coincidentally also revolves around Christmas home décor. ~Net

O LITTLE CHRISTMAS MARKET

Saturday, July 11, 8 pm ET/PT

Stars: Katherine Barrell and Stephen Huszar

A chance meeting at a train station with Grayson (Huszar), a talented yet unfulfilled architect, sparks an unexpected connection. Their bond is tested when Olivia learns his firm is behind the buyout. As Christmas draws near Olivia rallies the community to save the market after securing a delay to the final decision. Amid the holiday magic, Grayson and Olivia’s romance blossoms despite being on seemingly opposite sides of the deal. Together, they must find a way to merge their dreams and save the market, discovering that in order to endure love – like art – requires taking a leap of faith.

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

SNOWBOUND FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Saturday, July 18, 8 pm ET/PT

Stars: Vanessa Lengies and Marcus Rosner

Cassidy Evergreen (Lengies) is an ambitious guest services manager at her family’s boutique hotel company who is determined to prove she’s ready for the next step in her career. Her mother – and boss – Joanne (Kathryn Greenwood, Ghosts), sends her to Ridgeford Valley to evaluate the future of the charming but struggling Linden Lodge. Upon arriving, she meets Trey Sanderson (Rosner), the lodge’s devoted co-owner who is doing everything he can to preserve it. Alongside his spirited daughter, Lilly (Skywalker Hughes, Joe Pickett), Trey is working tirelessly to keep the lodge’s beloved holiday traditions alive, including the town’s annual Christmas Festival. As Cassidy becomes part of the festivities – from untangling Christmas lights and snow tubing adventures to helping Lilly sell holiday wish lanterns for charity – she begins to discover the magic that makes Linden Lodge so special. Along the way, Cassidy finds herself drawn to Trey, Lilly and the close-knit community that gathers there each Christmas season. But when outside pressures threaten the future of the lodge, Cassidy must decide what truly matters most.

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

LOVE UNDER THE MISTLETOE

(Previously known as: Operation Mistletoe)

Saturday, July 25, 8 pm ET/PT

Stars: Jen Lilley and Nick Bateman

Interior designer Grace (Lilley) runs a business with her best friend and her brother in the quaint town of Ivy Glen but is too busy for a real relationship. Ryan (Bateman), a successful New York City financial advisor and Grace’s former high school crush, returns home planning to sell his grandmother’s historic St. Nicholas House. The mayor convinces him to revive the beloved Ribbons & Bows charity fundraiser and brings Grace on board to help. Working side by side to pull the event together, the former couple reminisces and feelings they once shared slowly resurface. But will this yuletide reunion lead to love under the mistletoe?

Movie Reviews for LOVE UNDER THE MISTLETOE (Operation Mistletoe):

🎄 Operation Mistletoe (2024) is family friendly about when Grace’s former classmate & (crush) Ryan St. Nicholas arrives home for Christmas, Grace’s best friend initiates “Operation Mistletoe” to search for mistletoe. Ryan isn’t selling St. Nicholas’ House to keep his family legacy that belong to his Grandma’s. Ribbons & Bows Christmas Fundraiser with help from Jack & Olivia. Mayor Sami Hoffman & her Husband. Olivia gives Grace a mistletoe. Grace has a mistletoe while Ryan holds mistletoe from Grace as they kissed under the mistletoe. Jack & Olivia go outside. It’s available on Hulu via Disney+ ~Anonymous

🎄 Thank you for sharing about this movie! I just watched it and it was so cute! It stars Jen Lilley and Nick Bateman. They had great chemistry together and the supporting cast was great especially her best friend and brother who are married. Very cute and fun! It’s available on Hulu. ~Sara S.

🎄 “Operation Mistletoe” – This movie disappointed us. We normally enjoy anything Jen is in but not this one. We did not finish the movie. ~Joan

🎄 Operation Mistletoe - Did anyone find that the audio was poor? At times, the speech seemed jumbled. Jen’s speech also seemed to be sped up. Despite using CC, this really affected how I could listen. It is a shame too because it was cute. ~Anonymous

🎄 Operation Mistletoe. This one didn’t make my Bells on Bob-tail ring. If you’re going to make an unoriginal, cookie-cutter Christmas movie, it needs something to stand out and make it special – some sort of spark or warmth or humor or meat on it’s bones. But this one felt lame and rather B-list low-budget, with uninspired writing/directing/producing, along with annoying background music and sound issues. Other than Jen Lilley, the actors were either flat or over-the-top annoying. There was no chemistry between Jen and Nick (all that plethora of ridiculous mistletoe just wasn’t working for these two!!); and, for me, Nick is just too stiff and awkward (and he seriously needs a new hair stylist!!). I love Jen Lilley but even she couldn’t save this one. I quit at the two-thirds point but it was family friendly up until then. ~~Jane (aka Much Mistletoeing)

🎄 Operation Mistletoe - Finally got around to watching this, and it was so sweet! -Maria

🎄 Operation Mistletoe - This is such a sweet, lighthearted movie. I really enjoyed the brother and his wife... they are super cute. Jen and Nick are fun, too, but I didn't feel much chemistry with their characters. Overall, though, it's still a delightful watch. ~Net
