Happy Christmas Movie Weekend, Friends!!!✨🎄

I'm ecstatic that this is our very first weekend of the holiday season with a NEW Christmas movie premiere and classics airing 24/7!

Great American Family jumps right into the Christmas movie season with a new movie, A Second Chance Christmas, starring Candace Cameron Bure and Jonathan Scarfe! Will these exes find love again while being stranded together in a snowstorm?

And Hallmark Channel's last Fall into Love movie premiere, The Spirit of Halloween, starring Meghan Ory and Kevin McGarry, has the legendary A Christmas Carol story woven into it. I'm not typically one to watch a Halloween movie, but since this film follows the familiar Ebenezer Scrooge Christmas story we all know so well, I'm willing to give it a try. I'm just hoping it doesn't get overly spooky or dark.

See all of the details for the NEW MOVIES and MORE below...

I hope you all have the most wonderful weekend as we soak up these first little joys of the Christmas movie season! 🎄✨

I’m especially excited for Candace’s brand-new Christmas premiere and, of course, curling up with some of my favorite holiday classics along the way. There’s just something so special about this time of year when the Christmas movies begin again!!!!

One little viewing note: Since The Spirit of Halloween follows the familiar A Christmas Carol storyline, there may be a few moments that could feel a little spooky or intense for younger viewers. We all know the standard Scrooge story... so the movie will have the Ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future, and I must say - nearly all of those older Scrooge movies when I was little always scared me with the creepy ghost of Christmas future - and even now, they still creep me out a little. (IYKYK!!!) I haven’t seen the new Hallmark movie yet, so I can’t say for certain how scary or dark it may be; however, if you’re watching with little ones, please use your own discretion or you may want to preview it first.

I'm currently watching the Great American Family Christmas movies as I finish writing this post this morning, and it's so beautiful to once again see so many movies I love, plus the commercials in between highlighting the Great American Family Christmas movies with the Christmas carols: Joy to the World and Hark! The Herald Angels Sing! What a blessing it is - to celebrate this upcoming Christmas season with you all and the True Joy of Christmas!

♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

"Joy to the world, the Lord is come

Let earth receive her King

Let every heart prepare Him room

And Heaven and nature sing

And Heaven and nature sing

And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing"

♫♫♫♫♫♫♫

May every heart prepare Him room

- this Christmas season!❤️

Have a Blessed, Merry Weekend!

Watch Candace Cameron Bure Tonight in 'Special Forces: World's Toughest Test'

Just a little reminder to tune in TONIGHT!

Candace Cameron Bure is joining the fifth season of FOX's Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, where 15 celebrities will face intense physical and mental challenges in the jungles of Malaysia.

This will be really different for those of us who are used to seeing Candace in sweet, heartwarming Christmas movies. This time she's stepping WAY outside her comfort zone!

I love Candace's willingness to face her fears and take on something so challenging! She's always been open about her Christian faith, and has shared that she doesn't want fear to dictate her life... so she hopes to encourage others to face their fears, too. (I absolutely love that!)

Of course, as I mentioned in a previous post, we Christmas movie fans will also recognize another familiar face among the contestants! Actor Oliver Hudson, who starred alongside Candace in the 2016 Hallmark time-travel movie Journey Back to Christmas, is taking on this adventure as well!

I'm looking forward to seeing Candace and Oliver in this show and cheering them both on as they take on this incredible challenge!

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test Season Five

Premieres Thursday, September 24, 2026

at 9pm ET/PT on FOX

(Streaming the following day on Hulu.)
Future episodes will air on Thursdays.

Enjoy watching,

My Quick Take: 🎄❤️

I'm super excited about the 2026 Christmas movie season on Great American Family! I'm already looking forward to watching so much!

It's honestly VERY hard to narrow down my must-see list because there are so MANY great choices! But if I had to pick just a few, my top three must-see movies are:

🎄 A Christmas Prayer Tradition - I loved the faith in the first movie, so I'm especially excited for this sequel!
🎄 Silver Bells at Christmas - I can't wait to hear Laura Osnes and country singer Chuck Wicks sing together!
🎄 Three Generations, One Christmas - I'm looking forward to all the singing and dancing with Mario Lopez, his son Dominic, his wife Courtney, and of course, Tony Danza - who will likely show them all "Who's the Boss"! (Am I right?)

And that's just the beginning! I'm also REALLY excited to see Candace Cameron Bure, Danica McKellar, Cameron Mathison, and Ryan Paevey each starring in two brand-new Christmas movies this holiday season! There are so many good choices - what an incredible lineup! Plus, Cindy Busby, Sam Page, Jill Wagner, Jesse Hutch, and Trevor Donovan are back, too! Love these actors! I told you it was hard to choose! I'm definitely watching ALL of these movies!

Now I want to hear from you! Which Great American Family Christmas movies are you most excited about watching this year? Share your top picks in the comments below! 🎅❤️

🌟 90s Sitcom Stars Coming to Reality TV - Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Melissa Joan Hart, Joey & Matthew Lawrence and More...

Two new shows are coming in August and September that star many celebrities we have known from 90s TV sitcoms and Hallmark & Great American Family movies.

The shows are called Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, which involves physical and mental challenges, and Totally '90s House, which focuses on home renovations.

I also wanted to share this fun fact... starring in Special Forces with Candace Cameron Bure is Oliver Hudson, who you may recall also starred along with Candace in the Hallmark time-travel movie, Journey Back to Christmas.

Check out the details for both of these new reality shows below...

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test - Season 5

According to FOX’s press release the celebrity recruits will be deployed in Malaysia to take on intense challenges in “the most hostile environment a soldier could operate in... the jungle.”

EW is reporting that "recruits will “adapt to uncomfortable conditions, unpredictable terrain and harsh jungle warfare tasks” as they endure challenges such as a claustrophobic, high-pressure search of an underground bunker to find crucial military weapons, a supply load retrieval while suspended 300 feet above the jungle floor, and a chemical gassing while finding coordinates of an enemy vessel. In this experiment, the celebrities try to survive demanding training exercises led by the Directing Staff (DS) Rudy Reyes, Billy Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Jovon “Q” Quarles, an elite team of ex-special forces operatives. They will guide the recruits while testing them to see who has the guts and glory to make it to the end."

Competitors:

Matt Barnes (NBA champion)
Alycia Baumgardner (world champion boxer)
Candace Cameron Bure ("Full House," "Another Sweet Christmas")
David Charvet ("Baywatch," "Melrose Place")
Brandi Glanville ("The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills")
Collin Gosselin ("Jon & Kate Plus 8")
Oliver Hudson ("The Cleaning Lady," "Rules of Engagement")
LeSean McCoy (NFL Super Bowl champion)
Maxim Naumov (Olympic figure skater)
Ruby Rose ("Batwoman," "Orange Is the New Black")
George Santos (politician)
Hannah Stocking (comedian)
Breana Tiesi ("Selling Sunset")
Alexia Umansky ("Buying Beverly Hills")
Mauricio Umansky ("Buying Beverly Hills")

Premiere Date: Thursday, September 24, at 9/8c. on Fox

Totally '90s House

Hosted by Jaleel White (aka Urkel from Family Matters), this six-episode series is bringing the '90s back but with a serious home makeover twist! Two teams of beloved '90s stars go head-to-head to turn outdated houses into modern masterpieces, all while keeping a little of that retro charm in the mix.

And there's a $25,000 prize waiting at the end of the renovation road for the winning team's charity of choice.

The stars are split into two teams:

Team 1:
Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills, 90210)
Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven)
Jodie Sweetin (Full House)

Team 2:
Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All / Sabrina the Teenage Witch)
Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show)
Matthew Lawrence (Boy Meets World)
Joey Lawrence (Blossom)

*They will be assisted by HGTV design experts Carter Oosterhouse and Sabrina Soto.

Premiere Date: Wednesday, August 26 at 9|8c on HGTV
Stream the next day on HBO Max

*******************

If you had the choice to be on either one of these series, which one would you choose?

I think both would be fun to watch, but if I had to participate, I would definitely choose the home makeover show! I would never last in a Survivor-type competition. Nope, not me. I mean, I like exercise and I'm fit and all, but I'm just not sure I could endure the jungle. How about you? Please share in the comments below.

Happy watching,

Net
