National Christmas Tree Lighting 2017 Official White House Photo by Joyce N. Boghosian

The 95th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting program, held on Thursday November 30th, 2017 - was hosted by Kathie Lee Gifford (morning talk show host) and Dean Cain (actor - "Superman," "God's Not Dead," "Broadcasting Christmas," and more), along with Hallmark President and Chief Executive Officer, Bill Abbott, Executive Vice President, Hallmark Programming and Network Publicity, Michelle Vicary, the Beach Boys, Jack Wagner ("When Calls the Heart," "The Wedding March," and more), Wynonna Judd, Craig Campbell, Mark Steines and Debbie Metanopoulos ("Home & Family hosts"), and others!

Since President Calvin Coolidge in 1923, our nation has been lighting a National Christmas Tree. That festive tradition continues on this year with President Donald Trump, first lady Melania, and many members of the Trump family, and other political leaders, in attendance.

The President's Christmas message included these meaningful words...
“Each and every year at Christmas time, we recognize that the real spirit of Christmas is not what we have, it’s about who we are,” he said. “Each one of us is a child of God. That is the true source of joy this time of the year. That is what makes every Christmas merry.”

THE WALTONS Cast Members Reunite on Hallmark Channel's "Home and Family"!

It's a Reunion of The Waltons... as cast members Michael Learned (Olivia), Richard Thomas (John Boy), Judy Norton (Mary Ellen), Mary McDonough (Erin), and Kami Cotler (Elizabeth) from this popular family drama series are welcomed into the "Home and Family" home for a heartwarming visit, to reminisce and share memories on Monday, August 3, 2015 @10 AM/9c. on the Hallmark Channel.

* image credits below

via zap2it.com:
"The reunion includes Thomas baking a pie with “Home & Family” host Cristina Ferrare, Norton singing a song as tribute to the “Waltons” actors who have passed away and Cotler demonstrating a “Waltons”-era do-it-yourself craft.

Learned will also take viewers on a tour of the theater founded by Will Geer (Grandpa Walton) — the Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga, Calif. — with Debbie Matenopoulos. The reunion’s opening and closing segments will be narrated by “The Waltons” creator and narrator, Earl Hamner, now 92 years old."

My thoughts...
As a long-time devoted fan of this well-loved series, I am delighted to see these 5 Walton family members come together for this special get together of sharing memories. The Home & Family show is also wonderful about emphasizing and recreating special moments from the shows they highlight - so I look forward to seeing how they give tribute to The Waltons! It would be wonderful to see them all around the dinner table, again... but, I can almost guarantee it will end with everyone saying "Goodnight"!

See the "Home and Family" Reunion of The Waltons - Monday, August 3, 2015 @10 AM/9c. on the Hallmark Channel.

UPDATE: Here are two screen-cap images from the Waltons reunion interview on Home & Family...

The Waltons six movie reunion shows are available in one DVD set.

My take on the Nominees:

I was happy to see... nominations for "When Calls the Heart," from the Hallmark Channel, "Love Finds You in Sugarcreek, Ohio" and "Coffee Shop" from UP-tv.

However, I was surprised not to see... nominations for the actors of "When Calls the Heart", nor the TV Movie "The Redemption of Henry Myers", and "Paper Angels".

More than anything else, I was shocked not to see... the inspirational series "Signed, Sealed, Delivered", from the creator of "Touched by an Angel" Martha Williamson, not nominated in any of the categories. I personally think this was a terrible over-sight, of a most deserving series filled with everyday spiritual issues, divine providence, and a deep, abiding faith in their calling.

Now, What do you think of the Nominees? Which ones did you like? Which Movie or TV series, would you have nominated? Please share in the comments below...
