Just in time for the holidays, the Country Music Association has revealed performers for its 12th annual holiday special, "CMA Country Christmas." First-time hosts Gabby Barrett and Carly Pearce will be joined by Jimmie Allen with Louis York & The Shindellas, BRELAND, Brett Eldredge, Lady A, Pistol Annies, Carrie Underwood and Lainey Wilson for an intimate evening of holiday classics. "CMA Country Christmas" airs Monday, Nov. 29 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on ABC.
"CMA Country Christmas" brings the holidays home again, inviting viewers to sit back and enjoy the season in a warm and intimate home setting reminiscent of classic Christmas television specials of the past. Coming together for a night of festive performances and cozy holiday moments, "CMA Country Christmas" is sure to celebrate the magic of the Christmas season.
"CMA Country Christmas" will also feature two student musicians, supporting CMA's longstanding commitment to support equity in music education. A student at Nashville School of the Arts, Truman Eltringham, 17, and Carter Hammonds, an 8-year-old student at FH Jenkins Preparatory School, joined hosts Barrett and Pearce for an unforgettable performance you won't want to miss.
"CMA Country Christmas" is a production of the Country Music Association. Robert Deaton is the Executive Producer and Writer. Paul Miller is the Director.
Starting in 2010, "CMA Country Christmas" rings in the holiday season annually with a show full of festive classics and one-of-a-kind musical performances. The event is filmed in Nashville and airs each holiday season on ABC. ABC is the network home to the CMA Awards and CMA's summer concert TV special "CMA Fest."
Besides the typical, lighthearted Christmas movie rom-com, there are other great Christmas TV specials and events- so I thought I'd share an update today with the new holiday shows premiering tonight!

When the sun goes down, brighten up your night with...
*The Great Christmas Light Fight*
Details via ABC: It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas as ABC's tree-mendously popular decorating competition series, "The Great Christmas Light Fight," takes over Wednesdays in December as it returns for its eighth season with back-to-back episodes starting WEDNESDAY DEC 9 at 8/7c, for three consecutive weeks. America's brightest houses bring joy to the world with the help of celebrity judges – lifestyle expert Carter Oosterhouse and famed interior designer Taniya Nayak.
All isn't always calm, but all is definitely bright as the Christmas classic takes viewers across the country to the most elaborate and awe-inspiring holiday displays in the nation. This holiday season, we will once again see four fantastic families face off in each one-hour episode and compete to win $50,000 should they "sleigh" the competition. Taking Christmas decorating to another level, the Heavyweights special will return for its third year featuring a first-ever parade of one-of-a-kind sparkling floats and a mile-long drive-through with over a million synchronized lights, to name a few, that viewers will never forget.
It's a live stage production that's anything but dull - with the premiere of...
*Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Musical!*
Details via NBC: A new TV musical event - recorded at London's Troubadour Theatre - takes the timeless holiday story from the stage to your screen. Matthew Morrison stars as the Grinch in Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Musical!
Dr. Seuss' The Grinch Musical! premieres
Wednesday, December 9, 2020
at 8pm/7c. on NBC
*CAUTION: I have not pre-screened this; therefore, I do not know if the content or dialogue is family friendly. Please use your own discretion - if you choose to watch. To be honest, my favorite version of "The GRINCH" is the old classic animation. Some children are often very frightful of the movie version, and this one, in my opinion, looks rather creepy, too. So please beware - for your little ones. See trailer below.
Countdown the 12 best holiday commercials ever with...

She will have to spend five days at a Christmas Inn with her business competitor, Chad Everest (Travis Burns), in order to win over the badly needed listing of the Erickson Farmstead. While competing to win the listing, Julia and Chad discover that they have more in common than they thought.

Apple TV+ put out a press release sharing this news-
Here's an excerpt of their statement...
"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
and Christmas Specials
To Air on Broadcast TV After All"
"Peanuts fans upset by the classic Charlie Brown holiday specials leaving broadcast for streaming have no need to fear. Apple TV+ and PBS have announced a partnership to bring A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas back to broadcast in two special events. Alongside their debuts on Apple TV+, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will also air on PBS and PBS KIDS on November 22nd at 7:30 p.m. local time / 6:30 p.m. CT. A Charlie Brown Christmas will air on PBS and PBS KIDS on December 13th at 7:30 p.m. local time / 6:30 p.m. CT."
Thank you to Jim, Dennis, and the anonymous person who commented to share this news! It is nice they were able to work out this deal, but it's sad to see they aren't playing the Mayflower episode, which typically ran in the second half hour in it's hour time slot on ABC. Even though it's a cartoon, this story titled "This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers" so beautifully tells the real story of the first Thanksgiving.
I am, however, most grateful to know "A Charlie Brown Christmas" will be airing on TV - so the tradition continues... and hopefully, they will bring both of these meaningful specials back again next year!
As a special DaySpring Presentation tonight, "Christmas Town," starring one of Hallmark's favorite leading ladies, Candace Cameron Bure, will premiere for the very first time on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries! Christmas Town storyline via Hallmark: Elementary school teacher Lauren Gabriel decides to leave the comfortable and familiar – and career-only minded boyfriend – for a more family-friendly/white-picket fence lifestyle far from Boston.
