Wanting to seize the opportunity for potential business, Eric chases this new venture and leaves Kate to her own devices time and again. Luckily, Shep, the resort’s activities director, is an old friend of Kate’s from her camp counselor days and more than willing to help fill her solo hours with fun and adventure. As the old friends spend more time together and reconnect, Kate is reminded of dreams she used to have and finds herself wondering if it’s time to change course.

STUDIO CITY, CA – June 15, 2017 – Production has begun on “Sun, Sand & Romance,” reuniting “Battlestar Galactica” castmates Tricia Helfer (“Lucifer,” “Suits”) and Paul Campbell (“Knightrider”). Shooting on location in Cancun, Mexico, the movie will premiere during Hallmark Channel’s annual “Summer Nights” programming event, featuring four new, original movie premieres celebrating the fun of the season. “Duck Dynasty’s” Sadie Robertson also stars.

My *Quick* Take:

I'm ecstatic to see Paul Campbell return to make a new Hallmark movie! It's been too long since we have had his comedic genius grace our TV screens! Like many of you, I first took notice of Paul when he starred in "Window Wonderland" - and no matter the movie, his character always shines. I remember loving him just as much as Gridley in "Surprised by Love." So, it goes without saying that I cannot wait to see him in this new one!

Tricia Helfer was wonderful in last year's Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Christmas movie drama "Operation Christmas" and past Christmas movies "Mistletoe over Manhattan" and "Finding Christmas." I will look forward to seeing her as Paul's opposite in this romantic comedy!

Sadie Robertson is just as sweet as she can be! She's like the All-American girl with her Duck Dynasty roots... and grounded deeply in her faith. Sadie also starred alongside two popular Hallmark stars - Melissa Joan Hart and Jesse Metcalfe, in 'God's Not Dead 2.' I cannot wait to see her, as well, in this new Hallmark movie. I hope this will be the beginning to many more!!!

"Sun, Sand & Romance" sounds like the perfect title for a Hallmark Movie right in the midst of "Summer Nights!"

I first saw an extended trailer of the movie, "God's Not Dead 2", with my family when we attended the KLOVE Christmas Concert in December, 2015 and I knew I just had to share it with all of you!

Let me tell you... the crowd at the concert, which had been extremely loud, talkative, and boisterous, in between a break of waiting for the next music artist to come out, became in a moment absolutely silent, completely absorbed in this powerful story the moment it hit the big screen in front of us. It was evident by everyone's reaction, we were all in awe of this amazing account, based on a real life event, and how it impacts our life today... how we must as Christians and Americans continue to fight for our way of life and religious freedom, before it's too late.

The first movie in this series, "God's Not Dead" was a box office hit starring Kevin Sorbo (by the way, another Hallmark star with movie credits: "Avenging Angel", "Shadow on the Mesa", and "The Santa Suit"), Shane Harper (of Disney Channel's "Good Luck, Charlie"), and Dean Cain (Yet another Hallmark alum, "Operation Cupcake",  "The Case for Christmas", etc...). It is an impactful film of faith that takes you through the course of events through many people's lives that don't connect until the end of the story. *Just a thought...

There are some Excellent Nominees Above, (including the amazing, fantastic little actress Alyvia Alyn Lind of Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors) but I was VERY Surprised NOT to See anything from Hallmark or UP included in the Movieguide Awards, and there are certainly plenty of movies from either network that could have been included.

If Movieguide is looking for the "best, most inspiring movies and TV shows"... then I think they should have nominated Hallmark's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered", from Producer Martha Williamson of "Touched by an Angel". The "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Truth be Told" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Impossible Dream" movies were filled with such incredible, heartfelt inspiration and unwavering patriotism. It's truly shocking this series was overlooked in this category again this year.

Also, Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart" is always filled with beautiful, inspiring moments, especially the last episode, "When Calls the Heart: New Year's Wish". The WCTH series was nominated last year, but forgotten this year.

And... then on UP, many of their original movies are faith inspired: including "I Am Potential" (a touching story of triumph over tragedy), "Like a Country Song" (starring Joel Smallbone of the Christian Brother Duo "For King and Country"), "Christian Mingle" (starring actress Lacey Chabert), and Many More...
