I hope those of you who have been enjoying season 13 of When Calls the Heart will thoroughly enjoy the season finale! I can't help from wondering if there will be a thrilling or puzzling cliffhanger this season? Happy watching to all of you, Hearties!

For those of you who are streaming the first episode of Hope Valley: 1874 on Hallmark+ beginning this Saturday, I hope you'll enjoy this introduction to the new characters from the frontier era.

Also, I wanted to note that the Miniseries, The Faithful: Women of the Bible, brings the Book of Genesis to life through the eyes of women in the Bible - Sarah, Hagar, Rebekah, Leah, and Rachel. The series highlights how their journeys of faith helped shape God's greater plan.

This special three-week event begins on March 22nd on FOX and leads up to Easter Sunday, April 5th. (Please Note: I have not seen any of these episodes, so I’m not sure how closely the stories will follow the Bible.)

Wonderful Weekend, Everyone,

Are You Watching the New Mystery Series, Blue Skies?

If you’re looking for a cozy mystery series, I’d love to recommend the UP Faith & Family original, Blue Skies!

I’ve mentioned this series before, but I recently had the chance to watch the first three episodes, and they were all quite enjoyable and family-friendly overall. That said, as with most mystery stories, there are elements of violence and murder that are definitely too intense for very young viewers, so a little discretion is wise.

Otherwise, Blue Skies carries that same comforting, small-town mystery charm you might feel from Hallmark or Great American Family.

The series stars Scarlet Hunter as Detective Jodi Larsen and Markian Tarasiuk (Mistletoe Connection, Christmas Jars) as Ryan Miller.

It’s an intriguing story that follows Jodi, a former member of the military, as she returns to her hometown and begins working at Crystal Ridge National Park as a criminal investigator.

While reconnecting with her father is a meaningful part of her homecoming, she also forms a special bond with a stray dog she names Blue, an incredibly gifted tracking dog with a natural instinct for search and rescue.

Along the way, she reconnects with Ryan, a former high school friend who now runs a local coffee shop and rock-climbing wall. He's clearly someone who shares her love for the outdoors and a bit of adventure.

Each episode presents a new mystery as we watch Jodi settle into her new role, build relationships with her park colleagues, and partner with her loyal K9 companion, who quickly becomes a favorite among the team.

It was also interesting to see an appearance from Chesapeake Shores and Mistletoe Connection actress, Jessica Sipos (seen in the picture above).

You can stream Blue Skies on UP Faith & Family or through Amazon Prime. There are 8 episodes in the series and new episodes drop every Thursday - ending on April 9th.

And if you’ve already seen some of the episodes, too, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Happy sleuthing!

New Drama Series: Hope Valley: 1874

Streaming: Hallmark+

Premiere Date: Saturday, March 21, 2026

*Future new episodes drop on Thursdays

Storyline via Hallmark: Showcasing themes of perseverance and romance, this series explores the journey of a mother as she discovers a new chapter in her life as she helps forge what starts out as a collection of isolated settlers into a small, close-knit community during the rugged and hopeful Pioneer Era. This prequel to Hallmark’s historical drama series, When Calls the Heart, will take viewers back in time to follow the early settlers of the community that will one day become the beloved frontier town of Hope Valley.

Episode 1:

In 1874, Rebecca Clarke travels with her 11-year-old daughter to the Canadian frontier in search of a new life. When she realizes the boardinghouse she purchased is not as advertised, she has no choice but to accept help from local rancher Tom Moore.

I hope many of you can enjoy Hope Valley: 1874 on Hallmark+!

I’m planning to renew my streaming subscription so I can enjoy this new series right away! I just can’t resist a good frontier drama! I’m far too excited to wait for it to eventually make its way to the Hallmark Channel.

🎄✨ Jillian Murray and Brett Varvel Film New Great American Family Christmas Movie

( screeenshot via: Brett Varvel Instagram Stories )

Two well known Great American Family actors recently shared some exciting news!

A new Christmas Movie is in the works for 2026 starring Jillian Murray ("Chasing Christmas") and Brett Varvel ("County Rescue").

Both stars took to social media to share some fun videos of the behind-the-scenes action - tagging each other and Great American Family. I posted these videos below.

The title for this movie is currently unknown, but it appears they are filming at the production location in Buffalo, New York, where they have been experiencing a very snowy blizzard - the perfect time and feel for creating a Christmas movie!

A very special thank you to all of my friends who messaged me to be sure I heard about this movie!

I hope you all enjoy these videos:

🎄 Candace Cameron Bure’s Second Christmas Movie for 2026 Revealed - 'One More Christmas'

image via: Great American Media

Exciting Christmas movie news, everyone!

Great American Media revealed today - exclusively through Us Weekly - that Candace Cameron Bure is currently filming her second Christmas movie for Great American Family titled One More Christmas!

Candace previously filmed a third movie in the Home Sweet Christmas franchise with Cameron Mathison back in December (right at Christmastime!) titled A Sweet Christmas Anniversary.

Candace’s co-star in One More Christmas is Jonathan Scarfe, whom many of you may recognize from the Hallmark movies Angel of Christmas and Love on the Air.

Here’s the storyline for One More Christmas - shared by Us Weekly:

“In the film, Candace Cameron Bure and Jonathan Scarfe play exes, Anna and James Campbell, who’ve been divorced for five years and have a ‘carefully managed truce for the sake of their children.’

When their daughter invites the entire family to meet her serious boyfriend over Christmas at her grandparents’ rustic Smoky Mountain cabin, the former couple reluctantly agrees. Arriving a day early to avoid awkwardness, Anna is surprised to find James has the same idea. But when the worst ice storm in a decade traps them in the mountains with no way out, the exes are forced to confront the history they share — and the possibility that their story may not be finished after all.”

I’m so excited about this one! It sounds heartfelt and cozy!

Are you excited, too? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Please share in the comments.

Have a Merry Day!

Where the Wind Blows

Rated: PG-13 for violence, bloody images, and suggestive material (according to IMDB)

Starring: Trevor Donovan and Ashley Elaine

Premiere Date: Sunday, April 5, 2026

Storyline: A hardened cowboy puts his unfettered life on the open range on pause when he pretends to be a temporary husband for his late friend’s widow so she can adopt. The two go from strangers to something neither expected: a chance at love.

MOVIEGUIDE® gives this review: "WHERE THE WIND BLOWS tells an engaging story with a strong Christian, moral, pro-family worldview about finding love through unusual circumstances. Doing the right thing may mean breaking some worldly laws for the safety and good of women and children trying to survive a harsh world. MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for older children for strong violence, deception, interactions with saloon girls, images of blood, and drunkenness."

You can also read more reviews for Where the Wind Blows at Amazon - click here.

🎬 Movie Review:

Warning: You all know how much I love Trevor Donovan, but I have to warn you about this movie (Where the Wind Blows). I saw it a couple months ago and I was shocked how much needed to be skipped. It was very sexual. I won’t mention the scene for the sake of sparring you, but I would advise you to pass on this one. This is not a Christian film despite what they say. I was saddened and disgusted. Sorry, that was difficult for me to write, especially about Trevor, but I felt the need to tell you the truth. Many will be tempted like I was just seeing his name. ~Abigail

Great American Media Introduces *The Golden Thread Collection* of Films

image via: Great American Media

In Great American Media's latest commercial for the upcoming Easter film, Blessings in Disguise, there's a brief mention that the movie is part of *The Golden Thread Collection* of films. Seeing that detail really piqued my interest, and now Great American Media has shared what this means in their latest press release.

You can also see the new promo, which includes a mention of The Golden Thread Collection, at the end of this post.

Press Release via Great American Media:

Great American Media
Introduces The Golden Thread –
Elevated Stories
Woven with Everyday Faith

First Film to Debut is
Blessings in Disguise,
Starring Shae Robins
and Casey Elliott

NEW YORK, NY — March 12, 2026 — Great American Media today announced the launch of The Golden Thread, a new genre of faith-driven storytelling centered on the ways everyday faith shapes the journey of life.

For generations, faith-based films have often focused on moments of hardship where belief suddenly appears during times of crisis. While those stories reflect an important part of human experience, The Golden Thread introduces a different kind of storytelling, where faith is a staple throughout the entire arc of life.

More than a programming label or seasonal collection, The Golden Thread represents a defining creative vision for Great American Media. These stories highlight how faith is present not only in life’s most difficult moments, but also in the small decisions, relationships, and acts of service that shape who we become.

Like a thread woven through fabric, faith connects moments of joy, challenge, hope, and renewal. The Golden Thread reflects the belief that faith is often experienced in ordinary moments, guiding purpose and strengthening community along the way.

“At Great American Media, we believe faith is not something that appears only in moments of crisis,” said Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media. “The Golden Thread reflects the reality that faith is part of the entire journey of life. It’s present in the joyful moments, the difficult seasons, and the everyday experiences in between. These stories will entertain while demonstrating that faith is the very fabric of our lives, and is woven throughout life’s journey, guiding decisions, relationships, and purpose along the way.”

The first film to premiere under The Golden Thread banner is Blessings in Disguise, starring Shae Robins (A Christmas Prayer, Destined at Christmas) and Casey Elliott (Destined at Christmas, Destined at Christmas Once More).

In Blessings in Disguise, Robins portrays a talented fashion designer who thoughtfully stitches a line of scripture into every garment she creates, believing the wearer may receive more than beautiful clothing. Elliott plays a gifted woodworker who hopes to use his craft in service to others. When their paths cross, both discover that small acts of faith can lead to unexpected blessings, renewed purpose, and meaningful connection.

Just as Christmas movies grew into a beloved genre of television storytelling, The Golden Thread introduces a new storytelling tradition centered on the everyday presence of faith. While the genre is being formally introduced today, the spirit of Golden Thread storytelling has already appeared in several Great American Media films, beginning with the 2022 original The Christmas…Present, starring and executive produced by Candace Cameron Bure. The film’s message, that faith quietly shapes the choices we make and the lives we touch, captured the essence of what Great American Media now defines as The Golden Thread storytelling.

Through The Golden Thread, Great American Media continues its commitment to meaningful entertainment that celebrates and honors faith, family, and country.

Be sure to tell your family and friends to watch, too. This episode was such a warm welcome back to the small country town of Crossroad Springs, which tells the story of the Hamilton family ranch and the surrounding community. It's filled with such beautiful moments that center around faith and family!

In this episode, we see the town welcome the plans for Pastor James (Jonathan Stoddard) to open the Cowboy Church to the community at Eastertime, and the Hamiltons' rival, Daniel Newman (played by Jesse Jutch), spars with his uncle (Jefferson Brown) over the way to deal with his neighbors. While Daniel would prefer to be more civil and fair, his uncle prefers to be ruthless. It seems there could be more to the story than just water rights.

Tune in or record Crossroad Springs- today, Wednesday, March 11th at 5pm/4c. on Great American Family.

Blessings on your day!
