✨ Breaking: Cindy Busby's 2026 Christmas Movie Unwrapped

Exciting Christmas movie news for one of our favorites here at It's a Wonderful Movie... Cindy Busby (When Hope Calls) is currently filming a new Christmas movie for Great American Family's upcoming holiday season, which begins in October!

Deadline revealed that the title of Cindy Busby's film is Christmas Wrapped in Love and that it is based on the book The Christmas Gift List by writer Jennifer Snow.

This is the storyline provided by Deadline: "Natasha Lloyd (Cindy Busby) has built a unique business helping clients locate thoughtful, one-of-a-kind gifts for the people they love. When overworked surgeon Ryan Bartlett finds himself tasked with purchasing meaningful Christmas gifts for his entire family, he hires Natasha for help. To uncover the perfect presents, Natasha agrees to pose as Ryan’s girlfriend and spend the holiday season getting to know his family. What begins as a professional arrangement soon becomes something much more as Natasha discovers the true meaning of family, belonging, and love at Christmas."

No word, yet, on who will play Cindy's opposite in this new movie.

Cindy Busby has starred in three previous Christmas movies on Great American Family and numerous holiday films on UPtv, Lifetime, and the Hallmark Channel, including the Unwrapping Christmas series and one of the A Godwink Christmas films. She is also currently starring in Great American Family's period series, When Hope Calls: Brookfield, which has been renewed for a fourth season.

I'm so thrilled to see these three will be working together. I can just imagine already how wonderful they will be! A very special Christmas Event will be televised and streamed through Great American Media this December!

The 2025 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will air Friday, December 5 at 8/7c on Great American Family and GFAM+ and the program will stream on Great American Pure Flix until January 31, 2026.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Great American Media is honored to partner with the National Park Foundation (NPF) to bring the 2025 National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony into homes nationwide. The live event will be hosted by the NPF and the National Park Service at the Ellipse at The White House and President’s Park on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 5:30 p.m. Eastern. Great American Family will exclusively air the special on Friday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. ET and stream on Great American Pure Flix until Jan. 31, 2026.

Free tickets are available through an online lottery, which opens Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 10 a.m. ET and closes Wednesday, Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. ET. Applicants will be notified of their ticket status by Friday, Nov. 14. To enter the lottery, visit www.recreation.gov and click “TICKET LOTTERY,” or call 877-444-6777.

Each year, this treasured holiday tradition draws thousands of Americans to the Ellipse for a festive evening that will include live musical performances by local and national artists, countdown to the lighting of the National Christmas Tree, and other holiday festivities. Additional details, including the show’s host, performer lineup, and press logistics, will be provided in the weeks ahead.

This film is currently in production and is set to premiere as part of the 5th Anniversary of GREAT AMERICAN CHRISTMAS in 2025. The beloved programming event will begin airing in October on Great American Family and GFAM+ and streaming on Great American Pure Flix.

Christmas in Midnight Clear joins a new, all-star lineup for Great American Christmas 2025, celebrating faith, family, love, joy, and hope. Christmas as it is meant to be.

In Christmas in Midnight Clear, Hillary Shaw (Dea Josipovic), successful corporate real estate developer, arrives in the economically struggling town with decisive plans to acquire every possible property, declare the rest eminent domain, and to modernize the town from the inside out. But when Hillary encounters Daniel Porter (McLaren), local pastor and multi-generational pillar of the community, her vision faces more than legal challenges. As Hillary and Daniel’s worldviews spark conflict, something deeper begins to blossom.

Christmas in Midnight Clear is a Midnight Clear Production. Suzanne Degagne and William Tom Fielek are executive producers. Anthony Fankhauser is producer. Nicholas Humphries directs an Original teleplay by Riley Weston.

My Quick Take:

I’m really looking forward to seeing Jon McLaren in a Christmas movie on Great American Family this year, especially with him portraying a pastor. What a meaningful character for the Christmas season.

This is Jon's first lead role on Great American Family; he previously starred in the UPtv Christmas movie, Sappy Holiday and had supporting roles in Christmas on Windmill Way, The Great Christmas Switch, Double Holiday, etc...

I truly appreciate how GAF is continuing to share more stories that reflect faith and family values during the holidays. It’s refreshing to see more and more of that kind of programming.

Also, this is third Christmas movie announced for GAF that stars someone from the cast of "When Hope Calls." I must say, I'm still hoping for more news on that series soon!

And don't forget... Be sure to look for Jon McLaren in "Crossroad Springs," premiering on Great American Family - Saturday, August 30th.

🎬 Great American Media to Film Over 20 New Movies and Original Series in the USA

Exciting news for all of us fans of family-friendly movies! Deadline announced today that Great American Media is teaming up with legendary producer Robert Halmi to create over 20 new films and series! And what's even better? They’ll be filming here in the United States, starting with the studio’s production hub in Buffalo, New York!

This new partnership brings together two powerhouses in family entertainment: Bill Abbott, CEO of Great American Media (and formerly the Hallmark Channel), and Robert Halmi, a producer of over 400 film and television projects, founder of the Hallmark Channel, and the visionary behind Great Point Studios. Together, they're setting out to produce uplifting content centered around faith, family, and traditional values!

Their first movie, A Christmas Spark starring Mario Lopez, wrapped earlier this year in Buffalo and will be part of GAF’s upcoming holiday lineup. Mario shared how meaningful this project was to him, especially since it honors firefighters and was inspired by his own real-life experiences during the LA wildfires.

I don’t know about you, but I love hearing that these kinds of movies are being made right here at home. There’s something extra special about knowing these films are being filmed in real American towns- with beautiful local scenery and plenty of hometown heart.

This is just the beginning, too! More productions are planned for Great Point Studios locations across the U.S., including Yonkers, Atlanta, and even a new studio being built in Newark, NJ. It’s exciting to see the growing investment in family content and even more exciting that it's happening on American soil.

Yesterday, I shared the exciting news about the upcoming movie Grounded in Love and its streaming premiere on August 7th. Today, I’m thrilled to bring you the official update on when it will air on Great American Family!

Coming this Fall, Great American Family will present audiences with Grounded in Love! This all-new heartwarming romance stars Danica McKellar and Trevor Donovan, who are both well-known to rom-com movie watchers.

The film takes viewers on a soul-stirring journey, following Annie (portrayed by Danica McKellar), a globetrotting flight attendant whose life takes an unexpected turn when she loses her job and her relationship. Seeking solace, she returns to her grandmother's countryside haven only to rediscover faith, love, and a childhood friend, Jake (played by Trevor Donovan), who is also seeking more purpose in his own life.
