County Rescue Review:

I watched the finale of County Rescue yesterday (Thursday) on Pure Flix, and it was every bit as deep and emotional as the episodes leading up to it. One of the things I continue to appreciate most about this series is the strong faith element, including the meaningful scriptures woven throughout every episode. I also enjoyed seeing the friendships among the rescue team continue to grow and strengthen.

The storm added some tension and drama to the episode, drawing everyone together for a meaningful conversation. One of my disappointments is that we don't always get to see how every emergency call ultimately turns out. I don't need to see every detail, but it would be nice to get a little more closure and know how some of the patients are doing when they're taken to the hospital.

In this episode in particular, Dani is out on a serious call and helping a woman, and then in the next scene or so - she's back at the station like nothing happened. So, we have no clue what really happened.

Overall, though, it was a heartfelt episode. While there are uplifting moments, there are also scenes that are reflective and quite emotional. If you're walking through the grief of losing a loved one, this episode, and the series as a whole, may offer some comfort, encouragement, and hope for your healing journey.

The end felt as if they are leaving the door open for another season, but we'll see. ~Net

Movie Review:

🔎 True Justice – This one is fast-paced and lots of fun. You have to pay attention closely, because there are lots of names/suspects mentioned, so you have to stay on your game. It was cute that they called themselves the Justice Warriors. That kind of reminded me of Signed, Sealed, Delivered – and the way they call themselves The Postables. Plus, another similarity to SSD… it looks like our 4 Justice Warriors may be pairing up as couples. It was cute to see that they had interest in one another. That added some lightheartedness to the story. (Although, I must admit, sometimes it felt a little middle-school-ish the way they kept asking – do you like so&so? It was still cute and playful, but at times came across slightly immature.)

Also, I didn’t care for a line from Sarah, the dark-haired forensic specialist, who at one point, as she’s attempting a critical test, says, “pray to whoever you pray to.” Personally, that wording felt unnecessary and very distracting. I think a simple “pray this works” would have sufficed. Aside from that moment, and the murder mystery, the film remains fairly family-friendly and is probably best suited for viewers ages 12 and up.

It was great to see Nikki DeLoach and Benjamin Ayres in this again, but I was also hoping to see a bit more of them. While I understand they are not the primary focus of the mystery, their scenes added a wonderful spark, and I found myself wishing for a few more moments with them onscreen.

Near the end, the Justice Warriors also break the fourth wall and directly address the TV audience, revealing clues that lead to who-dun-it. I know some people like that and some people don’t. It was actually kinda fun, but as I mentioned before, it’s extremely fast-paced so you have to pay very close attention. ~Net

Also, I wanted to note - I am aware there is a new movie on the Hallmark Channel Saturday night titled Haunted Harmony Mysteries: Key to the Castle; I am not promoting this film because it contains ghosts and paranormal activity.

Scripture tells us this: “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. The new episodes of County Rescue include more deep emotions from the team as they continue to heal from their loss, lean on their faith, and pursue their service to others.

And I just love the way the Spelman family works closely together in their family-owned lumber business. It truly is a wonderful film filled with comforting small-town charm, a lovely little country church, and a sweet romance that will always hold a special place in my heart!

"Hannah Swensen" and "County Rescue" Are Back with a Fresh Batch of Mystery and Medical Drama

The Hallmark Channel is serving up an all-new helping of suspense with Best Served Cold: A Hannah Swensen Mystery, where Hannah is once again mixing together her baked desserts and small-town sleuthing!

Meanwhile, over on Great American Family, the medical drama County Rescue returns with its Season Three premiere. Filled with faith, courage, and heartfelt moments, the series continues to follow dedicated first responders as they face personal challenges and their calling to serve others.

🚨Note: I watched the first episode of County Rescue early on Great American Pure Flix, and just wanted to share that due to the intensity of some medical issues and life-saving emergencies, County Rescue is (in my opinion) best suited for mature preteen age and up. This premiere episode is 1 hour and 30 minutes long (with commercials). It's intense and emotional, but also inspiring to see how these close friends, even when times are tough, care for and lean on each other.

A new poster has been released for County Rescue Season 3 featuring familiar and new faces!

Returning to the series from the first two seasons are Julia Reilly, Brett Varvel, Tim Perez-Ross, Riley Hough, Angel Luis, and Tanya Christiansen.

Premiere date on Great American Family: May 17th at 8/7c

According to an article at parade.com, this is what we can expect in the first episodes of the new season: "In the Season 3 opener, the County Rescue team expands, as they welcome two new members—James (Christian Schupe) and Ema (Alyssa Gonzalez)—bringing new dynamics to the crew. "County Rescue" Season 3 Premiere Date Revealed - See Here:

During the Season 3 premiere of When Hope Calls: Brookfield on Great American Family last night, an exciting update appeared in one of the on-screen promos- County Rescue Season 3 is set to premiere on Sunday, May 17th!

This inspiring rescue series stars Brett Varvel and Julia Reilly, both pictured above.

I’m sure season three will bring even more moments of faith, courage, and heartfelt passion as they continue their demanding work as EMTs, serving others and saving lives under intense, day-to-day pressure.

🌟Reminder: Catch the Movieguide Awards Gala TONIGHT!

Just wanted to share a quick reminder to be sure to catch the 33rd Annual Movieguide Awards tonight, Thursday, March 5th, on Great American Family at 8pm/7c. (Also available on GFam+ and Great American Pure Flix.)

The program is only an hour long, so it's likely, like previous years, that the broadcast will be a condensed, edited version of the full gala.

Still, many of our favorite stars from Great American Family will be there, presenting and receiving awards. Be sure to tune in to see who takes home the adorable teddy bear trophies that celebrate faith, family, and uplifting values in film.

Great news for all County Rescue fans! Season will return in 2026!

You may want to take note, however, that the press release only mentions a few actors from the first and second seasons who will be returning for season three.

NEW YORK, NY – October 14, 2025– Great American Media announced today the company has greenlit Season 3 of its popular Original Drama Series, “County Rescue.” The inspiring drama series will stream exclusively on Great American Pure Flix and return to air on Great American Family and GFAM+ in 2026. The series features an ensemble cast led by Julia Reilly, Brett Varvel, and Tim Perez-Ross.

“County Rescue” is a family drama about the unique challenges EMTs and paramedics face along their personal and professional journeys. The series follows a team of first responders who navigate the pressures of emergency response work while finding strength in faith, compassion, and community. Viewers have embraced the show’s heartfelt storytelling and uplifting portrayal of everyday heroes.

Are you excited to see this rescue series return to Great American Family?

Julia Reilly will also star in the upcoming Great American Family Christmas movie, Christmas of Giving. She was also part of the huge cast of stars in A Little Women's Christmas last Christmas, portraying the youngest March sister, Amy.

Brett Varvel has starred in numerous faith-based series and shows, including Disciples in the Moonlight, Running the Bases, Play the Flute, Vindication, and more.

🌼 Spring Into The Weekend With A New Movie and A Finale - See Here:

We are certainly MARCHing right through the year. Spring is truly a delightful season!

The Hallmark Channel is airing their second *Spring into Love* movie this weekend, Hearts Around The Table: Shari's Second Act, which brings back many of the same characters from last week's premiere, Hearts Around The Table: Jenna's First Love.

And all of us County Rescue fans won't want to miss the finale episode of Season 2 this Sunday night. Hopefully, we will eventually receive news on a season 3 for this series soon!

Hearties and Hopefuls...



For those of you Hearties who are going to be missing When Calls the Heart this Sunday night, we are now just one week away from When Hope Calls premiering on Great American Family (and Super Channel Heart & Home in Canada) on Sunday, April 6th at 8pm/7c!

Also, good news for Super Channel Heart & Home viewers, you can catch a marathon of When Hope Calls season 1, along with the Christmas episodes that begin season 2, before the NEW season 2 premiere on April 6th. (If you have Great American Pure Flix, the streaming premiere date is Thursday, April 3rd!)



When Hope Calls is a spin-off series from When Calls the Heart. The two main characters from the first season of When Hope Calls, sisters Lillian and Grace, first visited Hope Valley at Christmastime in "When Calls the Heart: The Greatest Christmas Blessing." This was a very special episode that aired between seasons 5 and 6 on Christmas day in 2018. (the image above is from that Christmas special - click here to enlarge)

These two series are mostly separate from one another; however, the inaugural season of When Hope Calls featured guest appearances from When Calls the Heart characters: Mountie Nathan Grant and Lee and Rosemary Coulter.

The first two Christmas episodes of season two featured three familiar characters from Hope Valley: Abigail Stanton, along with her son, Cody, and a dream appearance by Mountie Jack Thornton.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! I'm planning a busy one with my family, but I also hope to squeeze in some movies I haven't seen, yet... and I'm definitely looking forward to the County Rescue finale. The EMTs have formed an incredible team this season, facing various challenges both at work and in their personal lives. Even with these obstacles, they continually uplift each other, and Dani, Ashley, and Andy draw strength from their faith to keep going, positively impacting those around them.
