I hope you all enjoy the Christmas movies airing this week. "Swept Up by Christmas" is a feel-good Hallmark movie; our friend Jane reviewed it as "a sweet, cozy, gentle Christmas movie that's a keeper" and I absolutely agree!

If you like comedy best, "Never Kiss a Man in a Christmas Sweater" is certainly a super fun, cheerful Christmas movie! In fact, more of our friends confirmed this with their reviews... "Picking Up and Dropping Off" is a Christmas movie that first premiered in 2003 on ABCFamily. From what I am remembering of the movie, it is family friendly, but it's been quite some time since I've seen it. Do any of you recall watching it? "Picking Up and Dropping Off" also aired a few years back on INSP during the holidays and they are well known for airing wholesome programming. The movie stars actor Scott Wolf, from the 90's TV drama series "Party of Five" and the Hallmark Hall of Fame Christmas movie, "A Christmas Love Story."

🔎 "Terminal Descent was another excellent instalment in the Ctossword Mystreies series, perhaps even the best to date. Lacey and Brennan suit each other well and as usual there are numerous touches of humour. The mystery was intriguing and at long last there seemed to be some progress in their personal relationship as they learned more of each others' pasts. However it does seem that it's obligatory for the hero in all the current mystery series now to have had a previous unhappy marriage - why? *SPOILER* Just to throw a spanner in the works - it was really great to see Matthew Dowden and I was thinking how he would make a great match for Tess - of course that can't happen. 🔎 " “Chronicle Mysteries: Helped to Death” is a family friendly mystery. Like any murder mystery, there is a little violence – a man is seen dead on the ground from afar – after falling off a cliff. In this movie Alex McPherson (Alison Sweeney) and Drew Godfrey (Benjamin Ayres) are attending a controversial self-help retreat. Alex is hopeful she’ll be able to do her Podcast and unravel a mystery from a previous retreat. There are strict rules about diet and no technology – so they can cleanse their body and mind. The no tech policy, however, makes it difficult to communicate with the outside world, but not impossible. Many of the people who attend these events act a bit odd and the story, for me, lacked a strong secondary B story, as the movie focused mostly at the camp. There are, however, some interesting characters at the retreat and Alex and Drew get extra help from Zack, an eager new worker at the newspaper. Overall, a good mystery in the Chronicle Mysteries series – it was sweet to see a deeper connection between Alex and Drew." ~Net

There is a sweet connection between the leads – you can really sense their attraction to one another. I also liked the story of the seamstress, Amanda, who restores vintage wedding dresses. She’s trying to date again to overcome a past bad breakup, but will she choose the guy she’s currently dating, Keith, who seems perfect, or will she choose her new friend, James – who is brutally honest and sometimes annoying, in a sweet way. Well now here's a bit of a surprise - Natalie Hall can be hit and miss with me and to be honest in the couple of movies I have seen him in Marshall Williams has been a bit insipid but both stepped up to the mark here particularly Mr Williams. He was still the boy your mother would like to see you bring home! but his character also had a slightly harder edge to it. There was a slightly slow start to the movie but once it got going it was delightful and the plot was just that little bit out of the ordinary. There was a really great feeling of connection between the leads and plenty of humour. Reallky nice ending too. It's always good when a movie you aren't expecting too much from really hits the mark. 💘 I am loving UP TV more and more. Watched "The Dating List" and "Change Of Heart" this weekend and loved them both. Also enjoyed "The Right Girl". "Sincerely, Yours Truly" on the 14th was a good movie. These older movies are so much better than the newer ones. Any time I see Larry Levinson mentioned on a movie, I know it will be good. Loved "The Dating List" so much I have already watched it twice. ~kitkat

💘 "The Dating List was pretty good. I thought it could have been better if we got to see the second romance more and I didn't care about the female boss finding love, because of that. The lead actress was very spunky and very pretty. I thought the guy friend/writer was cuter than the lead actor. I thought it was pretty funny, but I thought the part how they met and the copies were over the top. When it came to the 'reveal', I thought how he acted was horrible! That was such a huge turn off for me. However, I am going to watch it again, because I had so many distractions and overall it was a very cute movie! Family friendly as well." Misty

💘 "Hint of Love is sort of a no go for me. I just did not like the female lead's character at all in the beginning that I sort of tuned it out. I just had it on until I could watch Relative Race." ~Misty
