🎬 ✨ Lacey Chabert Filming New Hallmark Series in Paris

Bonjour, friends! Have you heard the news? Lacey Chabert will be filming a new limited series for Hallmark+. (Hallmark's streaming platform)

The series, titled Paris is Always a Good Idea, will shoot on location in Paris and Spain, and the story is based on Jenn McKinlay's novel of the same name.

So... if you've been following along, then you know Lacey has already had a very busy year filming for Hallmark! In late February, she finished filming her Countdown to Christmas movie, Holiday Ever After: A Disney World Wish Come True, on location in Florida with Travis Van Winkle and Christy Carlson Romano. They had been filming for 3 months, since early December 2025! (with holiday breaks, I'm sure.)

Last Fall, in September, Lacey Chabert filmed Lost in Paradise with Ian Harding in Fiji, which was the first rom-com premiere for Hallmark for 2026, and I must say, it is such a delightful movie, intriguing and entertaining, with excellent chemistry and fantastic, witty banter.

And now... Lacey is off to film abroad in Paris and Spain for this new adventure!

See all of the details in the press release below...

The Series is Shooting on Location in Paris and Spain

Based on the Novel of the Same Name by Jenn McKinlay

BURBANK, CA – March 3, 2026 – A new romantic adventure is underway as production begins on Paris is Always a Good Idea starring and executive produced by beloved, Hallmark fan-favorite Lacey Chabert (She’s Making a List, Mean Girls), Scott Michael Foster (Return to Office, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Rebecca Hanssen (The Witcher, Love Through a Prism), Henry Czerny (Revenge, Ready or Not) and Barbara Niven (Chesapeake Shores, The Christmas Baby). Based on the bestselling romance novel of the same name by Jenn McKinlay, the six-episode limited series is shooting on location in Paris and Spain, it was announced today.

Rounding out the dynamic ensemble cast are Stephen Hagan (Love of the Irish), Julien Marlon Samani (An Alpine Holiday) and Alejandro Albarracín (Dreams of Freedom). Fans can look forward to a captivating story that brings together a talented cast and the charm of international settings, making it a must-watch event this season.

Career-driven nonprofit executive Chelsea Martin (Chabert) travels to Paris with her confident rival-turned-ally, Jason Knightly (Foster) to secure a major donation but a heartfelt message from her late mother – and a loving push from her sister Annabelle (Hanssen) – sends her on an unexpected journey to reconnect with the three great loves she once left behind. From the rolling hills of Ireland to the magic of Paris and the sun-kissed vineyards of Spain, Chelsea retraces old footsteps and discovers that sometimes moving forward means first looking back.

“We can’t wait for viewers to come along on Chelsea’s journey of self-discovery, healing and – of course – unforgettable romance,” began Michelle Vicary, Head of Programming, Hallmark Media. “We know Lacey will bring a warmth and authenticity that will draw viewers into Chelsea’s world as she goes down this exciting path that ultimately leads her to the love she didn’t know she was looking for.”

Paris is Always a Good Idea is produced by Dynamic Television and Clapperboard Studios. Executive producers are Carrie Stein, Daniel March, Mike Benson, Rachel Gesua, Heidi Cole McAdams and Lauren Muir, who also serves as showrunner. Does this series sound enticing to you?

Would you be tempted to subscribe to Hallmark+ to watch it?

Or if you already have Hallmark+, are you planning to add this one to your must-see list?

At this moment, I don’t currently have Hallmark+, but I’m hoping/planning to subscribe again soon, especially with the new frontier series, Hope Valley 1874, on the way! That alone has me so intrigued.

And if you haven’t heard, there’s a wonderful offer right now for new Hallmark+ subscribers. When you use the code HOPE50, you’ll receive 50% off the annual subscription (available through March 26th). Such a great deal!

I also wanted to share that one of the Amazon reviews for the book Paris Is Always a Good Idea mentions that the novel includes what they describe as “graphic sexual content.” Of course, even if that content is part of the book, it doesn’t mean it will be included in the series adaptation. We’ve seen in other book-to-film projects that Hallmark has adjusted certain elements to better fit their audience and style. I simply wanted to pass this along so you’re aware - as far the book goes. I would never expect Hallmark to include any graphic scenes in their productions; it's just not fitting to their brand.

I’m truly hoping Paris is Always a Good Idea turns out to be a beautiful, memorable series. I can already picture Lacey in the most gorgeous dresses… and since it’s being filmed in Paris, I’m fully expecting at least a beret or two! I mean, when in Rome, or rather, when in Paris! Right?

Hope you enjoyed

this exciting filming news!

Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery

Saturday March 7 8/7c

Hannah finds a body at the grand re-opening of the Lake Eden Inn. When a storm traps everyone inside, Hannah must find the culprit before the road clears and the killer escapes.

Stars Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster, Barbara Niven

Movie Reviews:

🎬 Yes, "Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery," is clean. There is a discussion of a married man having an affair with a female employee but nothing is shown. I think all of the Hallmark Mysteries series and all Murder She Baked/Hannah Swensen episodes have affairs brought to light as part of the mystery storyline. Otherwise all eps are clean and family friendly(at least as family friendly as murder can be). ~Anonymous

🎬 Just watched the Hannah Swenson Mystery: Sugar and Vice. It was my favorite out of the rebrand movies, family friendly, and the costumes were incredible!! The plot was pretty good too and Hannah and Chad were sweet together. And Delores was funny with her own interrogation. ~Abigail

Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder

Premiere Date: Saturday, March 14, 8/7c

Starring: Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith

Storyline: Nelly and Detective Michael set out to solve the murder of a guest while at a lavish dinner.

Movie Reviews:

🎬 The new Nelly Knows Mystery: All Manners of Murder is super fun. Pascale & Kavan are great, as usual. ~Allie B

🎬 Nelly Knows Mystery: All Manners of Murder review.

This mystery was soooo much fun! I loved how Nelly and Michael were a team and was known to the other that they liked each other. Had the Clue game feeling and who doesn’t love hidden passageways!!! Plus fam-friendly!! Good who dun it as well!! And was neat combining different shows together. What a blast!! ~Abigail

🎬 Also really loved the Nellys Knows Mystery! I think Pascale is an amazing actress. And even though she is my favorite on WCTH, I can forget she is "Rosemary" in her movies--I think that says a lot! Kavan too, they are such a great pair on both shows. ~Lizzy R.

🎬 I was finally able to watch the Nelly Knows Mysteries new movie from a few weeks ago. I was pleasantly surprised! I really enjoyed this one, as the first was kind of hard to get into because of Pascal’s silly attitude. In this new movie she was much more calm, and it’s always such a treat to see familiar faces in the supporting cast. ~Paula

🎬 Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder – Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith together as Nelly Parker and Detective Michael Hogan. Their chemistry on screen is always magical! This movie was particularly interesting with a murder-mystery dinner party – including a fascinating group of people making up the ensemble cast of suspects that I recognized easily from former Hallmark moves. It was quite interesting to guess who-dun-it, and while I fihured the right culprit, it was still fun watching Nelly and Michael piece it all together.

It’s a cozy, family-friendly sort of mystery, but even though it’s not graphic like most crime dramas, there’s still a murder, so it’s best suited for mature preteen age and up. ~Net

🔎 New Premiere Coming to Hallmark Mystery in March

Hallmark Mystery is back on the case with a brand-new movie premiere, and it’s been a long wait!

Alison Sweeney returns to sleuthing in "Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery"!

The last time this channel aired a brand-new mystery was way back in May of 2025, so spotting this title on the schedule felt like uncovering a long-awaited clue.

Also, while we were used to Hallmark Mystery debuting new mysteries/movies on Thursday nights, this one is changing things up with a Friday premiere instead.

And more great news... this new "Hannah Swensen Mystery" is not the only mystery news for March. Hallmark is also listing another premiere- "Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder," airing on Saturday, March 14th. If the schedule holds, mystery fans are in for a delightfully suspicious weekend. Update: The new "Nelly Knows" will also premiere on Hallmark Mystery.

See the details on "Sugar & Vice: A Hannah Swensen Mystery" below...

Hungry for a New Mystery? Catch the New Mystery Movie on a New Night This June

If you'd like to take another slice at solving a mystery, then you'll want to see "Pie to Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery" this June!

In addition to introducing a new mystery, Hallmark has shifted its premiere back to Sunday nights. And in case you were wondering... yes, it will debut on both the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery!

And while Hallmark has added this new "Hannah Swensen Mystery" premiere in June, the network has removed the premiere date for "Mystery Island: Play for Keeps" on the Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Mystery websites. (Currently, the press site is still showing the June premiere date for "Mystery Island," but I believe the page hasn't been updated yet.)

Details for "Pie to Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery"...

Storyline: When Hannah's customer and Delores' theater rival is murdered, Hannah must find her killer in order to save her mother's reputation. Chad and Hannah's romance blossoms.

Starring: Alison Sweeney, Victor Webster, and Barbara Niven

Premiere Date: Sunday, June 22 at 8pm/7c

What do you think? Is it a good idea for mystery movies to air on Sunday nights again (instead of Thursdays) on both Hallmark Mystery and the Hallmark Channel?

I've been wondering for a while, and there's some speculation spreading around that Hallmark may end the Hallmark Mystery channel, especially since the network is now simulcasting the mystery premieres on both Hallmark Mystery and the leading Hallmark Channel. What do you think, sleuthers? Please share your thoughts in comments below.

🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄

My Take:

The movie that stands out to me here is the DaySpring movie, Miracle in Bethlehem, PA. I have found DaySpring's previous Christmas films to be filled with faith, deep emotion, and uplifting moments. I'm hoping the same will be true for this film, which clearly reflects the Savior's birth.

As for the other movies, there is great potential here for more heartwarming films that may become forever favorites. We'll just have to wait and see.

Please Note: At this point, we don't know which movies will be family-friendly. Throughout the Christmas Season, I will do my best to inform you about various storylines, and if any of you who follow here would like to share a review - please be sure to share in the comments below.

Joyous Christmas Blessings,
