Throughout the movie's production numbers and rehearsal chaos, Dolly finds herself taking a private journey into her past, guided by the mysterious appearances of her personal Three Wise Men. When it's time for her big special to air live, a renewed and inspired Dolly goes rogue and shows the world that the real magic of Christmas lies in the hearts of the children we all once were, the realization that Christmas is about the people we share it with and how her faith remains the common thread between Christmases past, present and future.

Friday, December 2, 2022:

Storyline: Buck and Jessica's merry little Christmas together takes a dangerous turn when their journey through the wild turns into a battle for survival.

Premieres Friday, December 2, 2022
at 7pm/6c. on UPtv

Movie Reviews:

πŸŽ„"I watched Christmas In The Wilds and enjoyed it. Everything about this movie was good except for a couple of things. Getting stuck in snow in a vehicle with snow tires or chains made no sense to me. Also, how could the guy not see through the manipulation of his co-worker? Both of the main actors are great together. Loved seeing all the same actors continue from Romance In The Wilds. The scenery is breath-taking! Real snow everywhere! Can not say enough about how Christmasy this is. Music is beautiful. Happy I have the DVD. Hope I did not say too much to ruin it for others. You will not be disappointed." ~kitkat

πŸŽ„"This is a sequel movie to the INSP film, Romance in the Wilds. I watched through Fox Nation, with a free streaming trial. Christmas in the Wilds is very similar to the first movie, but it has the wonderful addition of Christmas and some extra moments with Buck Thompson’s family added in, who are seen even more in this movie than the first. There’s a lot of action-adventure when Buck and his former partner/ex-girlfriend end up in the snowy forest with a blizzard on the way. Even though the weather outside is frightful, Jessica is determined to reach her boyfriend, Buck, spend Christmas together and return him to his family – before the Christmas eve service where they will honor the memory of Buck’s father. If outdoor survival is fascinating to you, then you will really enjoy this movie. Christmas in the Wilds is action-packed throughout, with some heartwarming moments, too. I especially enjoyed the scenes with Buck’s sister (played by Laura Vandervoot, “A Christmas Together With You”), who was dog-sitting for Jessica. She said she was more of a cat-person, so it was sweet to see her warm up to the dog and later on, open up and share her feelings. Overall, it was a nice movie to watch; it shows great respect to those who serve in the military, how to cope with PTSD, and best of all, it is family-friendly." ~Net

Bridget’s plans to shine are foiled when a talk show host from her network arrives to join her for the broadcast. Drake Kincaid (Brandon Quinn), as it turns out, refused to hire Bridget as his co-host for their morning show a year earlier, making tensions high. πŸŒ„πŸŒ²The Mountains are Calling!πŸŒ²πŸŒ„ NBC Announces New Holiday Special: "DOLLY PARTON'S MOUNTAIN MAGIC CHRISTMAS"

Details via press release from NBC...

"DOLLY PARTON'S MOUNTAIN MAGIC CHRISTMAS"

A modern-day movie musical about the making of a network TV special, "Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Christmas" is the frenetic backstage story and delightful on-camera results of Dolly's desire to uplift an exhausted world's spirits by sharing the unique "mountain magic" she has always found in and around Dollywood at Christmas. Throughout the movie's production numbers and rehearsal chaos, Dolly finds herself taking a private journey into her past, guided by the mysterious appearances of her personal Three Wise Men. When it's time for her big special to air live, a renewed and inspired Dolly goes rogue and shows the world that the real magic of Christmas lies in the hearts of the children we all once were, the realization that Christmas is about the people we share it with, and how her faith remains the common thread between Christmases past, present, and future.

David Rambo will write and executive produce with Sam Haskell and Dolly Parton. Billy Levin and Bobby Kelly will produce. Hudson Hickman will co-executive produce.

Warner Bros. Television will produce in association with Magnolia Hill Productions and Sandollar Productions.

--------End of excerpt from Press Release--------

Dolly Parton's previous Christmas TV movies include: Coat of Many Colors (which drew 13 million viewers for NBC in 2015), Christmas of Many Colors (pulled in 11.5 million viewers for NBC in 2016), and Christmas at Dollywood (had 3.65 million viewers for the Hallmark Channel in 2019). She also has a Netflix musical/drama titled: Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square. Older Christmas films starring Dolly Parton include: Unlikely Angel and A Smoky Mountain Christmas.

My personal favorite is Coat of Many Colors; it is such an incredibly moving, powerful story about faith, family, and forgiveness.

Hopefully, this new holiday special will also be heartwarming and inspirational.

Blessings, Net

DANICA McKELLAR's 2019 HALLMARK CHRISTMAS MOVIE REVEALED!

Danica McKellar to star in
Hallmark's "Christmas at Dollywood"

image: Hallmark Crown Media

ET online has revealed - Danica McKellar will be starring in another HALLMARK CHRISTMAS MOVIE THIS YEAR!

Here is a synopsis of "Christmas at Dollywood" via ET:

"In Christmas at Dollywood, Rachel Lewis (McKellar) is a single mom and award-winning Broadway producer who learns investors have mismanaged her latest theatrical -- a holiday extravaganza -- into bankruptcy, forcing the show to close before it even opens. Dismayed, Rachel's friend calls from Tennessee to tell her about an opportunity to produce a show for the 20th anniversary of the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival at Dollywood. The only caveat? Rachel will have to work with Luke Hakman, Dollywood's entertainment director who sees the holiday show as a stepping stone to become the park's new general manager.

With her 9-year-old daughter, Amy, in tow, Rachel leaves New York City to return to her Appalachian mountain roots. Every night, as she tucks Amy into bed, she tells her a new Adventures of Amy story with the hopes of compiling the bedtime stories into a book someday. One night, Rachel tells Amy about a little girl following Santa Claus on his route. Using the stars as her guide, fantasy Amy travels with Santa to the Northern Lights. Rachel tells her daughter that the lights are so magical that Amy can always look to the night sky to find her way home. Is this inspiration for a new Dollywood show? Rachel seems to think so, though she will have to convince a skeptical Luke, who has his own vision of what will be successful. As the pair make compromises to please their boss, Rachel and Luke realize love can come in the most unexpected of places."

And... since the movie takes place in Dollywood, Dolly Parton will, of course, make an appearance in the film! Also, according to ET, "McKellar's mother, Mahaila, and son, Draco, will also have cameos."

"Christmas at Dollwood" will be
Danica McKellar's 5th Hallmark Christmas movie!

Danica's previous Hallmark Christmas Movies include:

NBC Announces 'Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love'

image via: NBC

NBC is wisely capitalizing on the huge success of last years 'Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors' ratings success with a Christmas themed sequel, titled: 'Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love'... coming this Christmas!

Returning for this new original made-for-TV movie are the original cast... Ricky Schroder, who portrayed Dolly's father Robert Lee Parton, Jennifer Nettles, who portrayed Dolly's mother Avie Lee Parton, Gerald McRaney as Grandpa Jake Owens, and Alyvia Alyn Lind, who was dynamic in the original film, as young Dolly Parton!

NBC released this storyline description:
"The film delivers Christmas joy and peril as an unexpected blizzard threatens the Parton family, while at the same time Dolly’s father (and his kids) make sacrifices to raise enough money to finally buy his loving wife the wedding ring he could never afford to give her. Meanwhile, an important person in little Dolly’s life begins to see that her amazing voice and musical gift might just be made for something bigger than rural Tennessee."

If you were one of the 15 million viewers who watched the original 'Coat of Many Colors' when it premiered last Christmas Season on NBC, then I know you will look forward to seeing this sequel movie to the Parton family story.

*Just a thought...

There are some Excellent Nominees Above, (including the amazing, fantastic little actress Alyvia Alyn Lind of Dolly Parton's Coat of Many Colors) but I was VERY Surprised NOT to See anything from Hallmark or UP included in the Movieguide Awards, and there are certainly plenty of movies from either network that could have been included.

If Movieguide is looking for the "best, most inspiring movies and TV shows"... then I think they should have nominated Hallmark's "Signed, Sealed, Delivered", from Producer Martha Williamson of "Touched by an Angel". The "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Truth be Told" and "Signed, Sealed, Delivered: Impossible Dream" movies were filled with such incredible, heartfelt inspiration and unwavering patriotism. It's truly shocking this series was overlooked in this category again this year.

Also, Hallmark's "When Calls the Heart" is always filled with beautiful, inspiring moments, especially the last episode, "When Calls the Heart: New Year's Wish". The WCTH series was nominated last year, but forgotten this year.

And... then on UP, many of their original movies are faith inspired: including "I Am Potential" (a touching story of triumph over tragedy), "Like a Country Song" (starring Joel Smallbone of the Christian Brother Duo "For King and Country"), "Christian Mingle" (starring actress Lacey Chabert), and Many More...

Please share -- What did you think of the Nominees this Year?
