The Hallmark Channel continues this weekend with *something new*... their second June Weddings movie premiere!

If you'd like to watch *something old*... there are many older classics- including Christmas movies, rom-coms, and mysteries, airing Friday through Sunday.

The *something borrowed*... would be the characters from the original "Aurora Teagarden" series.

And *something blue*... would be the beautiful water seen in "Love's Greek to Me."

See all of the movie details below...

Christmas Movie Classics:
(Schedule - Eastern Standard Time)

Call Me Mrs. Miracle - Great American Family - 8pm

Friday, June 9, 2023:

Following a mini "Aurora Teagarden" marathon on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, starring Candace Cameron Bure, from 5-9pm EST., is the premiere of "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New," with Skyler Samuels as young Aurora Teagarden at 9pm EST.

"Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Something New" Storyline: Young Aurora Teagarden returns home to Lawrenceton after college to pursue her post-grad degree and finds herself embroiled in a mystery involving her friend Sally's fiancΓ©.

Since they are doing this new "Aurora Teagarden" movie without Candace Cameron Bure and recasting other key characters, as well, including younger versions of Sally and Arthur, this movie is a pass personally for me. Please share if you plan to watch the new "Aurora Teagarden" in comments below.

Weekend thoughts...

I hope you all have a pleasant weekend ahead. For those of you who have been affected by the smoke coming down from the wildfires in Canada, I sure hope it lifts, and blue skies will return soon for you. Our skies have been somewhat hazy here in the Midwest, but nothing like the orange sky images I've seen on TV and social media from New York and other surrounding states. That is so eerie looking.

I'm also hoping and praying we will receive some much-needed rain this weekend. We've been in a drought for some time now, and the crops here on our family farm certainly need moisture; everything is so dry and dusty. Are any of you experiencing this, as well? Some family members are experiencing dry, scratchy eyes, and we're not sure if that's due to the lack of rain or haze. Our sweet white kitty was playing in the yard, and due to the dry, dusty conditions, he came back mostly gray! Poor thing. I tried to clean him up, but as you know, water and kitty cats don't mix!

Not sure I'll get the chance to watch the new June Weddings movie over the weekend due to plans, but my DVR is already set. Do you plan to watch it or something else?

Please Note: I haven't screened the new movies. If you'd like to share a review after they air, please do so in comments below...

Have a blessed weekend, everyone!

πŸŽ„Jen Lilley to host GAC Family's 'Great American Christmas in July' Event!πŸŽ„ See Here:

GAC Family is making the first day of Summer
- even merrier and brighter!!!

Exciting news today from GAC Family... Jen Lilley (“Royally Wrapped for Christmas,” “USS Christmas”) will be hosting their Christmas in July movie marathon event, which airs July 2nd - July 4th! And if that wasn't special enough, GAC Family will be giving us sneak peeks of their upcoming 2022 Christmas movies!

Thus far, GAC Family has only officially announced two holiday films, "Catering Christmas," starring Merritt Patterson and Daniel Lissing, and "The Christmas Farm," starring Jill Wagner and Cameron Mathison. I'm excited to see if they may announce others... possibly with Danica McKellar, Trevor Donovan, Candace Cameron Bure, Susie Abromiet, Jessica Lowndes, and of course, Jen Lilley! (These actors all have contracts with the network.) I think it's a good possibility we might hear something about Jen Lilley's new Christmas movie, especially with her hosting the event and all!

See even more details in GAC Family's press release below...

My Take:

I'm delighted to see GAC has acquired the rights to Debbie Macomber’s two original "Mrs. Miracle" movies starring the incredible Doris Roberts ("Everybody Loves Raymond")! I absolutely love those two films; it will be truly wonderful to see them both air on TV again! In the words, of Mrs. Miracle... they're "off the hook!"

Also, announced in the press release, is the premiere of "A Match Made at Christmas" on GAC Family! This movie was released in 2021 via streaming sources. I haven't had the chance to watch it, yet, myself; however, we received a great review of this movie from Amy Lama, who is a loyal follower and friend here at 'It's a Wonderful Movie'. I've included Amy's review of "A Match Made at Christmas" below and a synopsis of the film.

"A Match Made at Christmas" synopsis:
"Holly's lifelong dream was to fall in love with the perfect guy, so when she meets skeptical, Christmas-hater, Chris, she's not interested. That doesn't stop Great Aunt Lillian (who's never wrong) from "pairing" them together in front of a crowd. Real feelings start to emerge for both Chris and Holly as their friends and family find ways to throw them together, but Holly's mistakes and Chris' stubbornness drive a wedge that seems too overwhelming to overcome. But their time together will teach both Chris and Holly lessons about honesty, family, and love."

Amy's review of "A Match Made at Christmas":
πŸŽ„"I just wanted to let you all know about a movie called “A Match Made at Christmas” streaming on Amazon Prime and Pure Flix. I am personally acquainted with the filmmakers and a lot of the people who were extras in the film, and my brother even has a mention in the credits because he was an investor for the movie! It’s rated 13+ on Amazon, probably because the “drama” in the movie makes it more geared to teenagers and adults, and there is also a bachelorette party scene at a bar (nothing too wild). The filmmakers are Christians, so there is nothing of concern as far as suggestive content and language (unless you count a single use of the word "crap"). The story is more of a drama than a comedy and has some depth and realism to it. It centers around a young woman whose brother is marrying her best friend, her relationship with said best friend, and her rocky relationship with her brother's best man. The leading woman and the woman who plays her best friend are very good. The leading man I thought was less good, but my mom and I both liked him better on a second viewing. There are some great scenes, and I enjoyed the movie a lot. ~Amy Lama

(Thank you, again, Amy... for giving us this wonderful review!)

I've also learned that GAC Family will air the movie "Christmas in Carolina," which was first released in 2020. It is rated PG and available on DVD at Amazon.

"Christmas in Carolina" synopsis:
After losing her parents in a car accident, Elle (Moore) a career driven investment banker has given up on love and Christmas until she meets Wesley (Saxon) a former NBA player and CEO of a small marketing firm. Wesley invites Elle to his hometown in South Carolina, with hesitation she accepts and is thrown for a loop where she falls in love and finds the spirit of Christmas again.

πŸŽ„'Great American Christmas in July' on GAC FamilyπŸŽ„
is certain to be a fun, exciting movie event!

May your day be Merry & Bright!🌟

Happy first day of Summer, everyone!
Blessings, Net

"Everybody Loves Doris!" Remembering our "Mrs. Miracle" Doris Roberts!

A Cherished, Beloved Actress Doris Roberts has sadly passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the age of 90. She leaves behind her son Michael Cannata, Jr. and three grandchildren.

image: "Everybody Loves Raymond" star Doris Roberts

Doris Roberts had a long acting career on Broadway, Film, and TV, and while her memorable roles are numerous, the most well known, of course, was her role as Marie Barone, the intrusive busy-body, meddlesome Mother - albeit respected homemaker and matriarch of the Barone family in "Everybody Loves Raymond" which ran on CBS from 1996 to 2005 and continues to live on and make us laugh in re-runs today!

image: "Everybody Loves Raymond" cast

Ray Romano, who played her son Raymond on "Everybody Loves Raymond" said in a statement to ET, "Doris Roberts had an energy and a spirit that amazed me. She never stopped. Whether working professionally or with her many charities, or just nurturing and mentoring a green young comic trying to make it as an actor, she did everything with such a grand love for life and people and I will miss her dearly."

Actress Patricia Heaton, who portrayed Doris Roberts Daughter-n-law Debra on "Everybody Loves Raymond" shared this message via twitter... "Truly the end of an era. My wonderful TV mother-in-law and ELR nemesis Doris Roberts was a consummate professional from whom I learned so much. She was funny and tough and loved life, living it to the fullest."

Brad Garrett, who played her son Robert shared this message via twitter, "Thank you everyone for your wishes regarding Doris. She was one-of-a-kind on and off stage. Love you mama."

In the beginning of her acting career, Doris worked on New York-based soaps and live television dramas, (via TCM biography) as well as in films including "The Out-of-Towners", "Barefoot in the Park", and "Hester Street", in which she became noticed and moved to Hollywood, where she played character roles, here and there... in shows, such as: "The Mary Tyler Moore Show", "All in the Family", "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman", "Barney Miller", "Alice", and "The Love Boat", to name a few.

Doris Roberts became a integral member of the "Remington Steele" show and detective team as the no nonsense Mildred Krebs in it's second season and beyond, solving crimes and starring opposite of Stephanie Zimbalist and Pierce Brosnan, on NBC from 1983 to 1987.

Christmas movie fans will remember Doris Roberts best from her comedic role as Clark Griswold's relative, Francis Smith in "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation".

She co-starred in two made-for-TV Christmas movies, "A Mom for Christmas" and "The Sons of Mistletoe".

And, Christmas movie fans will also recall her two most recent Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, portraying the clever and enchanting "Mrs. Miracle"!

There was certainly something very special about Doris Roberts. As a motherly figure, she made you feel loved and protected, and with her charming ways, she always brought a smile to your face and warmth to your heart! We remember her now with bittersweet sadness and joy, in remembering all the happiness and laughter she has brought into all of our homes!

Our prayers reach out now to her dear family and friends...

"Everybody Loves Doris"!
