GAC Media Press Release:

GAC Media today announced the start of production of #TheChristmasFarm (wt), starring Jill Wagner and Cameron Mathison. The Christmas Farm will premiere as part of #GACFamilyTV's annual “Great American Christmas” celebration.

NEW YORK, NY – May 4, 2022 – GAC Family today announced the start of production of The Christmas Farm (wt), starring Jill Wagner (“A Christmas Miracle for Daisy,” “Teen Wolf”) and Cameron Mathison (“Home & Family,” “General Hospital”). The Christmas Farm will premiere as part of GAC Family’s annual “Great American Christmas” celebration.

Janie (Wagner), a rising marketing executive living in The Big Apple, returns to her hometown of Woodland Falls when her Great-Uncle Randall passes away. Janie is not prepared for the gift Randall has bestowed onto his last living relative: the family homestead, Janie’s childhood home. While not immediately sure what to do with a fully functioning farm, Janie agrees to honor Randall’s final request to plan and host Woodland Falls’ annual Winter Wonderland as Randall’s gift to his community. Randall has even arranged for his farmhand, Dylan (Mathison) to help at the event, which is being held in the farm’s sprawling barn. Aware that her Manhattan boyfriend is anxious for her to return to the city so the pair can jet off to a previously planned holiday on the beach, Janie begins to feel an unexpected emotional tug about living life in a more authentic, meaningful way.

Executive Producers of The Christmas Farm are Brad Krevoy, Jill Wagner, Eric Jarboe, Amanda Phillips, Amy Krell, Vince Balzano, Susie Belzberg Krevoy, Kathy Ceroni, Bradley Walsh, and Jimmy Townsend. Producer is David Anselmo. Supervising Producers are Byron A. Martin, W. Michael Beard, and Michael Shepard. Associate Producers are Kaitlyn Greenough and Kelly Martin. Bradley Walsh directs from an original screenplay by Adam Rockoff and Blaine Chiappetta.

GAC Family’s “Great American Christmas” kicks off October 28, 2022, and in anticipation of the second annual holiday programming event, the network is airing encore presentations of 2021’s fan-favorite Christmas movies each Saturday throughout May and June.

My Quick Take:

First of all, I love both Jill Wagner and Cameron Mathison - so that's a win! Plus, I love the idea of seeing Jill Wagner on the farm again. That setting was ideal for her in her first Hallmark movie, Autumn Dreams, and since she's used to living out in the country in real-life, that really suits her best. Cameron also previously filmed a movie on a farm in Love, Of Course.

The concept for GAC's The Christmas Farm (wt) sounds charmingly familiar with the big-city girl returning to her country roots, but I just know both Jill and Cameron will make this movie something special - a keeper!

  1. I had high hopes for GAC this Christmas.

There were always going to be teething problems last Christmas and it would take a while to get on their feet but this pairing doesn't give me any confidence.

Jill Wagner is one of GAC's greatest assets but this is a waste - I know there's "only" 10 years between them but Jill looks younger than her age.

It also spells curtains imo for a further Mystery 101 movie.

    I'm gutted - Florence

    1. Cameron Mathison looks way younger than his age, he is so healthy. I think Cameron and Jill will be so great together. I did see Jill post something the other day about a farm that other people may want to use for movies. I guess that is where she is then. So Happy about this for GAC!!!!

  3. Net, your comment covered all my thoughts about this movie. To have Jill Wagner in another Christmas movie, plus it being on a farm, brings a happy feeling. Autumn Dreams is one of my favorite movies of all time. GAC is coming through for us! Jill and Cameron should be good together.

  5. She is definitely one of my favorites of what I like to call Golden Hallmark Actresses ;)

Can’t wait to see it. I’m sure I’ll love it! Thanks Net

  6. I hope GAC maintains the quality in their movies they had last year. Hallmark has really diluted their quality in the name of quantity in recent years. There also seems to be a “pipeline “ of talent migrating to GAC from HM. Be interesting to see if the networks share talent or it becomes a war zone for talent.

  7. I think this sounds wonderful. While maybe not the most original, it sounds like a wholesome Christmas story. I do hope GAC continues to grow. HM was like this too in its infancy; there are always growing pains, but GAC has such a stellar stable of actors, I think this year will be huge. Now I just have to get my cable provider to get it! Oh, and Jill's instagram post is adorable.
