INSP Greenlights

Sixth Season

of Acclaimed Series Drama

“Wild West Chronicles”

(Indian Land, SC – April 22, 2026) – Imagicomm Entertainment today announced that the critically acclaimed INSP TV network series Wild West Chronicles has been greenlit for a sixth season. Launched in 2020, the series continues its successful run as a cornerstone of INSP’s original programming slate. This sixth season, consisting of 6 (x :30) episodes, will bring the franchise to 65 total episodes.

Filming on Season Six is set to begin today, with new episodes continuing the series’ signature storytelling approach—following legendary gunslinger-turned-newspaperman Bat Masterson as he uncovers the incredible stories behind the West’s the most notorious characters and conflicts. The series, which stars Jack Elliott as Bat Masterson, has built a fiercely loyal and growing audience drawn to its authentic and immersive portrayal of Western history.

As with previous seasons, Season Six will mix stories of iconic Western figures such as Billy the Kid and Rose of Cimarron with lesser-known characters like Commodore Owens and Hoodoo Brown. This combination gives Western fans deeper understanding of the stories they already know and introduces them to new stories they may not have heard.

“Wild West Chronicles has become an integral part of our overall brand and programming strategy, consistently resonating with audiences who are drawn to authentic, character-driven storytelling,” said Craig Miller, VP of Original Programming at INSP. “As we move into Season Six, we’re continuing to build on that momentum by telling true stories of the American West that are much more engaging than a stodgy documentary.”

Alongside successful original series including Elkhorn and Blue Ridge, the renewal of Wild West Chronicles underscores INSP’s continued commitment to premium Western and Americana content. The network remains focused on delivering high-quality, themed programming that celebrates courage, resilience, and justice.

Stay tuned for additional casting, premiere timing, and distribution details as production progresses.

INSP Greenlights Two Additional Seasons of the Original Docudrama Series 'Wild West Chronicles'

Details via INSP Press Release:

INSP Greenlights

Two Additional Seasons

of the Original Docudrama Series

Wild West Chronicles

(Indian Land, SC – July 15, 2021) On the heels of the season finale of its highest-rated original series Wild West Chronicles, general entertainment network INSP announced that it has greenlit two more seasons of the popular historical anthology docudrama. Doug Butts, SVP of Programming for INSP, made the announcement.

“We knew early on that we had something special in Wild West Chronicles,” said Butts, “and viewers have confirmed it. Each week, audiences came back to hear about the people and the true tales of the American West. Some names are familiar, like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Wild Bill Hickok, and Annie Oakley. But our viewers also loved hearing the true stories of other, unsung trailblazers as well, including Bass Reeves, Doc Susie, Elfego Baca and more.”

In Wild West Chronicles, the legendary Bat Masterson, once a feared gunslinger and lawman, trades his sheriff’s badge for a pen and becomes a newspaper reporter. Although he once chased outlaws, he now chases stories, and beneath his front-page headlines, fearless lawmen and ruthless outlaws ride once more. On a quest to separate fact from fiction, Masterson traverses the country to uncover the true stories behind these incredible historical events. A bygone age of hardship and lawlessness is brought to life as eyewitnesses share their vivid memories of many of the most notorious characters of the Wild West.

Butts continued, “The ratings success, along with overwhelmingly positive feedback from viewers, was the deciding factor to greenlight more episodes. Production is scheduled to begin later this year, and the writers are pouring over historical archives and rare documents to find even more of the rich and diverse stories audiences loved in Season 1.”

Wild West Chronicles is produced for INSP by MorningStar Entertainment.

Have a Wonderful Weekend, Everyone!

I think everything looks great on TV this weekend. Whatever we choose to watch, it looks like there are lots of terrific options. I'm definitely looking forward to Pascale & Kavan in "You Had Me At Aloha." There's just something about those two - that always puts a smile on my face. Plus, I'm intrigued by the first *June Grooms* movie on UPtv and how cool is Annie Oakley gonna be in the "Wild West Chronicles." She's quite the legend.

And if you follow *It's a Wonderful Movie* regularly, then you already know how much I love "Signed, Sealed, Delivered!" I'm looking forward to catching some of the movies when I can throughout the day on Sunday. SSD is such a heartwarming show... I absolutely love them all! If you have a chance to watch sometime on Sunday, I highly recommend tuning in!

Poisoned in Paradise:

A Martha's Vineyard Mystery

Storyline: When a waitress seeking Jeff’s help is poisoned, he must uncover the mysterious plot she’d tried to warn him about to solve her murder. Jeff’s (Metcalfe) reputation for “unofficially” solving the island’s most dangerous crimes is growing. When Katie (Britt McKillip, Trick ‘r Treat), a young waitress, finds herself way in over her head with the wrong people, she shows up seeking his help. Jeff urges her to go directly to the police but she’s too scared to follow through. When Katie sadly turns up dead – murdered by poison – Jeff wonders if he could have helped her and the crime becomes personal for him. Teamed up with Zee (Lind), he must unravel the dangerous plot Katie had tried to warn him about to catch her killer. The shocking case leaves Jeff and Zee little time to discuss the kiss they had shared in Boston and what it means for their relationship. Meanwhile, the mystery back in Boston deepens when Jeff and Andy (Nelson Wong, “Riverdale”) seem close to catching the person who shot Jeff, until an FBI agent shows up and takes over, shutting them out.

**************************

I want to caution that "Sweet Carolina" is a story about tragedy and loss. Due to this storyline, it's not a movie I would recommend for young children. I have a feeling this emotional story will pull at our heartstrings and hopefully, be a help to those who are going through a time of grieving. (I pray this touches your heart, kitkat, if you are able to watch.)

For those of you who are wondering why I am not promoting "Good Witch" this weekend, I personally don't believe in supporting this program, due to my Christian faith. The Bible specifically speaks against evil things like witchcraft. In Deuteronomy 18:9–12 it says, “When you enter the land the Lord your God is giving you, let no one be found among you who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.” Those powerful words in the last sentence of that verse always echo in my mind - “Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.” I believe - if we are trying to live a life that is pleasing to the Lord, then this is NOT a program we should choose to watch knowing how our Savior feels about this.

Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.

And, for all of you who have been asking - I'm bringing back the *It's a Wonderful Movie Awards* - just for you! Look for it - coming very soon!!!

I pray you all have a peaceful and relaxing weekend.

Blessings to you all, Net
