Don't Miss "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries" Thrilling Season One Finale Tonight - Details Here:

What a wonderful first season it has been for "Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries," and tonight is the big season finale at 9pm/8c on UPtv!

We've enjoyed a delightful mix of suspenseful, yet lighthearted, family-friendly mysteries set in the charming Amish community of Sugarcreek, Ohio. (Thankfully, none involving murder!)

Throughout the season, we've come to know and love Cheryl (played by Galadriel Stineman), who has been managing her Aunt Mitzi's gift shop while her aunt is away serving on the mission field.

As Cheryl has settled into life in Sugarcreek, she's earned a reputation for helping others and solving mysteries alongside her friend, Naomi Miller (Denise Gossett), a local Amish woman.

Along the way, Cheryl has also developed a special connection with Naomi's son, Levi (Kevin Joy). Their growing friendship and attraction is challenging, though, since Levi is Amish and Cheryl is not.

One of the things I've especially appreciated about Cheryl is how important her Christian faith is to her. She attends church, seeks God's guidance, and genuinely desires to follow His plan for her life. But where is God leading her? Is Sugarcreek where she truly belongs?

That question may be answered in the season finale!

Episode details via UPtv:

Season 1, Episode 8 -

WHEN THERE'S A WILL - A missing deed, county corruption, and a race against time threaten Levi’s land and future.

FINALE THOUGHTS:

Can Cheryl help Levi and his family track down his uncle's missing will before the family land is sold to someone else?

No spoilers here, but I have to say this was such a fun and exciting mystery to unravel! The clues, twists, and race against time made for an engaging puzzle, while Cheryl's ongoing car troubles added some great humor and lighthearted moments along the way.

And then there's Cheryl and Levi. It's clear these two care deeply about each other, but what does the future hold for them?

The cast is already filming Season 2 on location in Sugarcreek, Ohio... so there are likely more mysteries... and hopefully, more Cheryl and Levi moments ahead, too!

Happy sleuthing in Sugarcreek!

County Rescue Review:

I watched the finale of County Rescue yesterday (Thursday) on Pure Flix, and it was every bit as deep and emotional as the episodes leading up to it. One of the things I continue to appreciate most about this series is the strong faith element, including the meaningful scriptures woven throughout every episode. I also enjoyed seeing the friendships among the rescue team continue to grow and strengthen.

The storm added some tension and drama to the episode, drawing everyone together for a meaningful conversation. One of my disappointments is that we don't always get to see how every emergency call ultimately turns out. I don't need to see every detail, but it would be nice to get a little more closure and know how some of the patients are doing when they're taken to the hospital.

In this episode in particular, Dani is out on a serious call and helping a woman, and then in the next scene or so - she's back at the station like nothing happened. So, we have no clue what really happened.

Overall, though, it was a heartfelt episode. While there are uplifting moments, there are also scenes that are reflective and quite emotional. If you're walking through the grief of losing a loved one, this episode, and the series as a whole, may offer some comfort, encouragement, and hope for your healing journey.

The end felt as if they are leaving the door open for another season, but we'll see. ~Net

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hope you are looking forward to the new Summer Nights movie! I'm hearing it's a great mix of romance and comedy. I'm getting the feel that it may be (in the comedic sense) a lot like Missing the Boat or Lost in Paradise. Anyway, that's my hope!

In case you missed it, you can see my review of County Rescue above.

Have a Blessed Weekend,

💐 Celebrate Mother’s Day Weekend with Movies, Mysteries, and the Must-See "When Hope Calls: Brookfield" Finale

( images: Great American Media / edit: itsawonderfulmovie.com )

Happy Mother's Day Weekend, Friends!

To all the wonderful mommas, grandmothers, and mother figures out there- thank you for the love, wisdom, and care you give so selflessly. Wishing you all a beautiful, joy-filled, and very Happy Mother’s Day!

If you'd like to watch something special with your family on Mother's Day, the "When Hope Calls: Brookfield" finale episode airs this Sunday night on Great American Family! After a season filled with tender moments, quiet longing, and a few unexpected surprises, all eyes are on Brookfield as some of our favorite stories reach what could be life-changing turning points. Will Mountie Michael and Nora finally find the courage to speak the feelings that have been building between them, or will Michael’s duty as a Mountie pull him away from Brookfield just when love seems within reach? And for Hannah and Wyatt or Sam and Maggie, what lies ahead for them... romance, heartache, or perhaps a little drama before the credits roll? However it unfolds, this finale promises plenty of heart, hope, and maybe even a few surprises along the way.

There's also a new Hallmark Channel movie, All’s Fair in Love & Mahjong, premiering this Saturday. I wanted to note that the film has faced a bit of backlash from some critics for focusing the story on a traditional Chinese game while featuring only one actress of Asian heritage in a supporting role. I would love to know what you all think. I'm not personally familiar with the game, but I know it is currently quite popular among people of all colors and ethnic backgrounds across the country. Please share your thoughts, and if you plan to watch in comments below.

Keep scrolling for more details on these new premieres and more...

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, my heart is especially full of gratitude for my own incredible momma. She is beautiful inside and out, with a heart that is always loving, caring, and devoted to her family. I feel truly blessed by the constant love, strength, and kindness she pours into our lives each and every day. One of the things I admire most is her faithful walk with the Lord... she is a blessing, an inspiration, and a steady source of love in my life, and I am beyond thankful for her!!!!

"When Calls the Heart" Season 13 Comes to End with Heartfelt Celebration and Sweet Surprises

( image via: Jaeda Lily Miller

Another beautiful season of When Calls the Heart has come to a close- Season 13! And, oh my, what a journey it’s been. Looking back over the years, it’s truly remarkable to see how much Hope Valley has grown and changed while still holding on to the heart that makes it so special.

I'm taking a look back at this finale episode, so please beware that this post does contain spoilers.

The finale gathers everyone together for a Harvest Festival, and it feels especially meaningful to celebrate this season. There’s a sense of being fulfilled - as the seeds planted seasons ago have finally come to bloom. We see dreams realized, heartwarming reunions, tender goodbyes, and new beginnings unfolding all at once!

LJ (Little Jack) is still longing to see Hope Valley from above, like a bird in flight. Though Elizabeth believes time will ease his longing, his dream lingers.

One of the most joyful surprises was Angela’s return home. The pure delight on the Canfield's faces said it all! What a gift to see their family whole again. I especially loved when they surprised Minnie with a new sign for the Cafe. What a beautiful moment!

Angela settles back in with such ease, sharing especially sweet moments with Allie. Even without sight, Angela "sees" so clearly. Her playful observation about Allie and Oliver’s feelings for each other is so cute, a perfect reminder of how deep their friendship is, even though they've recently been many miles apart.

Lucas also receives a surprise of his own when Edie Martell returns to Hope Valley. Lucas tries his best to play his cards right with her, but at first fails to say the right thing. His lighthearted card tricks at the festival add a fun touch, but it’s his heartfelt confession to Edie - calling her his "north star," that truly stands out. Though their timing is off and Edie's on her way to New York, Lucas surprises Edie with news that he's ending his term as Governor soon and would like to join her. Does this mean Lucas is leaving Hope Valley for good? Only time will tell.

Meanwhile, Nathan wrestles with how best to propose, turning to Bill for advice. Bill, ever the steady voice, encourages him to speak from the heart rather than focus on grandeur. Their bond always feels so genuine and real, like a true father-son connection.

In one of the most touching moments, Nathan teams up with Oliver to make LJ’s dream come true- rigging a way for him to climb the water tower safely and take in the whole valley. The scene is really sweet. Seeing LJ’s joy and the gratitude in Elizabeth’s eyes is deeply moving, especially in contrast to last season’s finale uncertainty with Little Jack being sick. This time, LJ isn’t just well… he’s thriving. He's soaring!

Loved seeing all the school children, especially those from Benson Hills, share what they have lost and gained since the fire. It's a touching, emotional scene, as they release their memories on red balloons - a beautiful reminder of resilience and hope. Rosemary and Lee’s farewell to Gwen is equally tender, filled with love and the ache of goodbye. My eyes were filled with tears watching this heartwarming scene. I sure hope we'll see more of Gwen in the future.

And then, the proposal...

This moment was deeply meaningful, as Elizabeth led Nathan toward the Hope Valley water tower, reassuring herself with the Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, "Always do what you are afraid to do," while she climbed the ladder, Nathan close behind. (This special line was on a wooden sign Nathan gifted to Elizabeth years ago.)

After they reach the top, they stand on top of the tower and take in the amazing view. Nathan's words to Elizabeth, as he proposes, are filled with admiration and gratitude, and the ring, four stones, Nathan explains symbolizes each of them - their family. This gesture makes the moment and the ring all the more special.

Nathan asks, "Elizabeth Thornton, will you be my wife? Will you walk with me through this valley for the rest of our days? Will you marry me?"
(She smiles happily, and they kiss.)

He gently draws back and asks,
"Wait, you didn’t - you didn’t say yes."

Elizabeth responds with a grin and says,
"Yeah, but I was gonna."
Elizabeth’s joyful, slightly teasing response, "Yeah, but I was gonna," is a perfect callback to a previous episode in season 11, capturing the ease and understanding between them. It’s a beautiful culmination of their journey, grounded in friendship, love, and deep knowing.

And just when it feels like the story has happily ended, one final joyful surprise arrives…

A taxi pulls into a very quiet Hope Valley, and stepping out is Abigail Stanton, portrayed by Lori Loughlin. With her eyes filled with tears, she looks around and says one simple line that's full of meaning, "It’s good to be home."

And it feels so good for us Hearties, too, to see Abigail home. There’s something deeply comforting in watching Lori's story come full circle. One can only hope she is embraced by fans and welcomed back with grace, love, and open hearts.

And just like that, Hope Valley feels even more complete! Our hearts are full and content, yet we are filled with anticipation for the beautiful stories still to unfold next year in Season 14!

A couple of things I was looking for in the finale, but didn't see:

#1 - I was hoping to see Joseph accept Christopher Gowen's apology. I think it's important for us to see the Pastor extend forgiveness to Christopher one day, especially since his son, Cooper, has already done so. It's not only the right thing to do morally, but it's also the right thing spiritually, and I would think that would be extremely important to Pastor Joseph.

#2 - One more thing... I was hoping before the season ended that we would see Allie and Oliver or someone find Jack's missing military medal, the one LJ accidentally lost. Allie promised LJ that she and Oliver would keep looking. I just hope the fact that it is lost is not forgotten, and the medal will be found one day.

So much to look forward to now in season 14... with a wedding being planned and Abigail's return!

If you've seen the Season 13 finale of "When Calls the Heart," I would love to know your thoughts on it, as well. Please share in comments below.

Happy Mother's Day 💐

First, I'd like to wish a very Happy Mother’s Day to my kind, caring, thoughtful, amazing, beautiful Momma! Her love, strength, and grace inspire me every day. I'm so blessed to call her mine. I’m deeply grateful for the love and dedication she—and my daddy—poured into raising us. Their guidance shaped our values and, most importantly, led us to a strong faith in Jesus. Today and always, I cherish their constant support. Their love is a true reflection of God’s love!

Also, Happy Mother’s Day to all you amazing mamas who stop by here! You have the toughest—and most rewarding—job in the world!

I’m deeply thankful to the Lord for the beautiful gift of mothers. Through their unwavering, unconditional love, they reflect the depth of God's amazing love for all His children. Scripture encourages us to honor our mothers, and it also offers them wisdom and spiritual guidance as they nurture and lead their families.

One of the most meaningful gifts we can give to a mother—whether our own, a grandmother, aunt, sister, or daughter—is to pray for her. Lifting her up in prayer is a powerful way to show love and support.

To those who are missing a beloved mother or grandmother, my heart is with you. I’ll be holding the memory of my late grandmothers close, and I pray you find comfort in remembering the love and legacy they left behind.

Praying each of you has a blessed and peaceful Mother’s Day.

Movies & More... 🎬

I am sooooo excited to watch the When Hope Calls Season 2 Finale!!! I'm hoping I'll get the chance tonight via Pure Flix. And while I can't wait to see it, I truly don't want this season to end. This season 2 has been spectacular and every similar word the Webster dictionary has for incredible!!! I can't even imagine there won't be a season 3, but hoping Great American Family/Media will make an announcement (either way, but hpefully, positive) soon!

Okay... so Love In The Clouds looks like it might be a nice movie; however, I can't help from feeling the timing for this premiere seems off - due to the cast wearing heavy coats, scarves, hats, and gloves. Based on the press pics and some of the video promos, it just doesn't look like a movie that should premiere in May on Mother's Day weekend. It looks more like a Fall or Winter January movie in my opinion. It is really great, though, to see both Paul Greene and Gail O'Grady on Hallmark again! (Kinda makes me want to pull out "All I Want for Christmas" and watch it! Love that Christmas classic! And... by the way, speaking of classics, "A Christmas Detour," starring Paul Greene and Candace Cameron Bure, airs on the Hallmark Channel Friday night!!!)

As I mentioned above, The Jane Mysteries: Murder At Moseby has aired on Hallmark+ previously, and I have seen this movie. In my opinion, this murder-mystery is best suited for pre-teen age and up.

UPtv is airing the third movie in the Love Club Moms series, The Love Club Moms: Harper. While I haven't seen this movie, it does sound like a woman who is not divorced and still married in the eyes of the law (and most importantly, God), may be entertaining the idea of dating. If this is truly the case, I cannot recommend this movie.

Please know, I haven't prescreened the new movies airing this weekend (except the The Jane Mysteries). If you'd like to share a review after the movies air, please do so in comments below.

Blessings to you all!
Happy Mother's Day Weekend!
