Subscribers to Apple TV+ can watch these specials at any time throughout the holiday season, but if you'd like to watch for free, here are the dates to view each special for a limited time, via Apple's Press Release:

For over 50 years of this Peanuts classic, Peppermint Patty invites everyone to Charlie Brown's for Thanksgiving, even though he is already going to celebrate at his grandmother's. Snoopy decides to cook his own version of a Thanksgiving meal with help from his friends.

"A Charlie Brown Christmas"

In this beloved Peanuts special, feeling down about the commercialism of Christmas, Lucy recruits Charlie Brown to be the director of the gang's holiday play. Can he overcome his friends' preference for dancing over acting, find the "perfect" tree and discover the true meaning of Christmas?

I hope you can tune in to watch these beloved Charlie Brown cartoon classics! The Peanut's Christmas episode is my all-time, cherished favorite, but they ALL hold a special place in my heart... as I'm sure they do for many of you, too!

May Your Day Be Merry & Bright!

Where YOU Can See πŸŽƒThe Great PumpkinπŸŽƒ and πŸŽ„A Charlie Brown ChristmasπŸŽ„ this Holiday Season... and More!

Every October, I used to always look forward to watching “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on TV. I simply adore Linus' imagination and Sally's devotion to her "Sweet Babboo!" Then, at Christmastime, I just have to hear those precious, meaningful words in “A Charlie Brown Christmas”... "Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about." Which, of course, is followed by the scripture Luke 2, which proclaims the birth of Jesus!!! I've included a video clip of that wonderful scene below.

This year, it doesn't look like they are planning to air the Charlie Brown specials on TV, even on PBS, but you can watch either on DVD or Apple is providing a streaming option.

Apple announced this week: "Peanuts favorite holiday specials “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown,” “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (will be) available to nonsubscribers free for a limited time."

This year, Apple's streaming service will also include the Peanuts holiday specials: “I Want a Dog for Christmas” and “Charlie Brown’s Christmas Tales,” debuting on Friday, December 2nd.

When you can stream Charlie Brown for FREE:

“It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown”
available October 28 through October 31, 2022

“A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving”
available November 23 through November 27, 2022

“A Charlie Brown Christmas”
available December 22 through December 25, 2022

Hope you enjoy watching Charlie Brown again this holiday season!
Blessings, Net

And, just for fun, I just had to share these festive Peanuts products available at Amazon:

(I'm typically a goner for just about anything Charlie Brown, especially when it's Christmas related.)

Charlie Brown is Back! See The Great Pumpkin, Thanksgiving and CHRISTMAS this Year on Network TV! DETAILS HERE:

"ISN'T THERE ANYONE WHO KNOWS
WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT?"

The Christmas season just isn't the same if I don't hear Charlie Brown say those words when he's frustrated over the fact that noone is taking his direction at their nativity pageant. And then, of course, dear sweet Linus recites the scriptures from Luke 2 from his heart...

Even though ABC sold their television rights to Apple TV+, a deal has been made to televise our beloved, favorite Charlie Brown holiday specials again this year on PBS and PBS Kids, including:

(all times below are Eastern Standard Time)

*It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown - October 24, 2021 at 7:30PM

*A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving - November 21, 2021 at 7:30PM

*A Charlie Brown Christmas - December 19, 2021 at 7:30PM

Thank goodness they weren't blockheads and blocked us out of seeing our favorite Peanuts Gang holiday specials on TV this year! However, if you want to watch the Charlie Brown specials any time, they are available on Apple TV+ (with a paid subsription) or you can purchase the whole set on DVD! (I've done the latter - because you never know IF they might not be available one day!)

I think one of the main reasons we are receiving this special gift on TV this year - is because there is an all new holiday special premiering exclusively on Apple TV+ on Friday, December 10, 2021 titled “For Auld Lang Syne,” which is a new Peanuts Gang celebration to ring in the New Year. I have a feeling there will be some promotion for it during these airings on PBS.

I sure hope the new Charlie Brown cartoon evokes all the same wonder and innocence of the original series. There is just something so pure, wholesome and heartwarming about Charlie Brown, Linus, Snoopy, Sally, even Lucy, and the whole Peanuts Gang - created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz. Watching these beloved characters returns us back to our childhood for a few minutes; it's like being wrapped in a warm blanket on cold winter day. (Preferably, one just like the one Linus carries!)

I hope watching Charlie Brown brings to mind wonderful memories for you - and may we all create new, special moments and memories when we watch again this year!

A special thank you to Jim and Anonymous others who shared this news with me! You know me so well - and how much I adore these timeless specials.

SO THANKFUL! CHARLIE BROWN IS BACK on TV - for THANKSGIVING and CHRISTMAS!!!

Apple TV+ put out a press release sharing this news-

Here's an excerpt of their statement...

"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving
and Christmas Specials
To Air on Broadcast TV After All"

"Peanuts fans upset by the classic Charlie Brown holiday specials leaving broadcast for streaming have no need to fear. Apple TV+ and PBS have announced a partnership to bring A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas back to broadcast in two special events. Alongside their debuts on Apple TV+, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will also air on PBS and PBS KIDS on November 22nd at 7:30 p.m. local time / 6:30 p.m. CT. A Charlie Brown Christmas will air on PBS and PBS KIDS on December 13th at 7:30 p.m. local time / 6:30 p.m. CT."

Thank you to Jim, Dennis, and the anonymous person who commented to share this news! It is nice they were able to work out this deal, but it's sad to see they aren't playing the Mayflower episode, which typically ran in the second half hour in it's hour time slot on ABC. Even though it's a cartoon, this story titled "This Is America, Charlie Brown: The Mayflower Voyagers" so beautifully tells the real story of the first Thanksgiving.

I am, however, most grateful to know "A Charlie Brown Christmas" will be airing on TV - so the tradition continues... and hopefully, they will bring both of these meaningful specials back again next year!

No More CHARLIE BROWN Cartoon Specials on TV - in 2020? Oh, Good Grief!

I've been checking and re-checking the schedules the last few weeks - searching for the annual airing of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and "You're Not Elected, Charlie Brown." Typically these two episodes air together around Halloween and just before the Election. Well, news has just been coming out (thank you for emailing that article, Jim!) that the reason we can't find Charlie Brown on ABC's schedule this year is because Apple TV+, which is a streaming service, has purchased the rights to the Peanuts Cartoons.

So... this means not only will we NOT see "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" on TV, but that means "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas" are gone from ABC, too. I feel like Lucy just pulled the football away - just as we were getting ready to kick it. How could ABC let this happen? I can't even imagine Christmas without Charlie Brown saying "Isn't there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?" And then, of course, sweet Linus responds with, "Sure, Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is about... Lights, please!" The spotlight shines on Linus center stage as he shares the story of Jesus' birth straight from the scripture Luke 2:8-14...

"And there were in the same country
shepherds abiding in the fields,
keeping watch over their flocks by night.
And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them,
and the glory of The Lord shone round about them,
and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them,
Fear not, for behold,
I bring unto you good tidings of great joy,
which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day
in the City of David,
a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.
And this shall be a sign unto you;
you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes
and lying in a manger.
And suddenly there was with the angel,
a multitude of the heavenly host,
praising God, and saying,
'Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace, good will toward men'.

That's what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown."

There's something so pure and innocent about Charlie Brown and all of the Peanuts beloved characters - Sally, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder, Franklin, Peppermint Patty, Marcy, Woodstock, Snoopy, the little red-head girl and many others! I'm afraid once this wholesome message is lost yearly on TV, a whole generation of children may grow up not really knowing what Christmas is all about. This may be the only exposure some children or even some adults get to the true meaning of Christmas.

Apple TV+ is offering these cartoons free, for a limited time, but I have a feeling it's just a way to get subscribers hooked into their streaming service. According to the article from cordcuttersnews.com, Apple TV+ is planning to create new specials for our Peanuts characters centered around Mother's Day, Earth Day, etc... I sure hope they don't try to politicize these characters that we love.

I'm also hearing the Charlie Brown cartoons will not be available to stream via Amazon or elsewhere; they are truly exclusive to Apple TV+. If you want to have them forever in your home and view them over and over again whenever you wish - for years to come, the best option is to buy them on DVD. There are various options you can see below, from buying them individually or in DVD sets. I personally own a Holiday DVD Collection, myself, but I am going to make certain I own every special Peanuts Episode!
