The *It's a Wonderful Movie Awards*

are returning soon!

Hello, movie friends! Soon we will be honoring our favorite movies from 2022 with the *It's a Wonderful Movie Awards*! This will be the 13th year for this film competition. For those of you who have participated in this before, it's going to be mostly the same with a small change. There will be 4 categories to choose from: TV Movies, Mysteries, Inspirational Movies, and Christmas Movies.

Here's the part that's different this year. The voting for Favorite TV Movie and Mystery movie is coming soon, with the results to follow soon after both polls are completed. The voting for Favorite Inspirational and Christmas movie, however, will take place in July - during the height of Christmas in July! I'm hoping by that time everyone will be caught up on all of the Christmas movies they hope to see, plus we'll have a chance to refresh our memories and re-watch at that time some of the Christmas movie highlights from 2022.

All of the Christmas movies above say on BYU's website they previously aired on BYU on November 1st, but typically when a movie airs for the first time on BYU, the streaming source becomes available soon after, and all of these movies won't be available for streaming until they air on the dates I provided above. So, did they all air on November 1st? I'm not sure. Did any of you happen to catch any of these movies that day, or was this a misprint? Whatever the case, I hope you'll be able to watch on these premiere dates in December.

You'll also want to keep a look out for the beloved BYU Christmas movie classic, Christmas Jars. This movie encores Sunday, December 4th at 10pm/9c. and Monday, December 5th at 3am/2c. and 1pm/12c.

Now, I must also tell you there may be more to come on BYU. They have, in the past, updated their schedule last minute and added more movies near Christmas, so you may want to keep a close check if you are interested. And if you catch anything at all, please share with us.

Encore Presentation: "Color My World With Love" - on the Hallmark Channel TONIGHT!

For those of you who may not have the channel, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, I thought you might like to know, the Hallmark Channel will have a special encore airing of "Color My World With Love" TONIGHT! The movie first premiered on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries on Sunday, June 12, 2022, and I believe this will be the first time it will air on the Hallmark Channel.

"Color My World With Love" stars Erica Durance, Benjamin Ayres, Lily D. Moore, and David DeSanctis.

 





Storyline: Kendall (Lily D. Moore) is a talented artist with Down syndrome who, thanks to the support of her mother, Emma (Erica Durance), and grandmother, Bev (Karen Kruper), Kendall is happy and thriving. Her life takes an exciting turn when she meets Brad (David DeSanctis) in a cooking class at the local center for diverse learners and romance blooms. Emma has spent the last 22 years trying to protect her daughter and has reservations about this new relationship, especially when it quickly moves in a serious direction. With the help of Nic (Benjamin Ayres), a longtime family friend of Brad’s, Emma slowly accepts that Kendall is ready to -- and should -- live her own life.

Tess Delaney (Lefevre) gets the surprising news by estate executor Damhnaic McAuley (Matter) that she has inherited half of an apple orchard from the father she never knew and has a half-sister she didn’t know about. When she visits the orchard and connects with her new-found family, she learns that the orchard is deep in debt. Using her knowledge as an antiques expert, Tess and her half-sister work to unravel the mystery of their grandmother’s “treasure” that could hold the key to saving the orchard. What a fun week it was - receiving the official news on Candace Cameron Bure's ALL NEW CHRISTMAS MOVIE with Great American Family, A Christmas… Present, and her new project Candace Cameron Bure Presents: Christmas on Candy Cane Lane with Andrea Barber and Dan Payne. Plus, it was such a delight to see the images from Great American Family, as they work on their Great American Christmas promos. 

Now, of course, there are all sorts of Christmas movie news floating around on social media, and there are all sorts of Christmas movie titles in production. I try my best to only reveal news once it becomes official from the networks, but sometimes, that is rather hard to do. Case in point... this social media post today from Brigitte Kingsley (Home for Harvest), who shared a set-pic and details on her upcoming Great American Family movie, Art of Christmas. Is it okay if I just whisper this news and share it today with all of you???...

Brigitte says she feels like a princess on the set of her new movie, Art of Christmas. Might this new movie have a royal theme? We shall see! Brigitte certainly looks like Cinderella, with her lovely blue ball gown and tiara.

🍁 "I see UP has definitely listed A Country Romance on their site for next Sunday. The reviews for it aren't that good but it's a typical Rom.Com with a familiar plot and although the pace is quite gentle I personally rather enjoyed it, my interest kept until the end. There were a couple of interesting side plots in it. The movie is family friendly but I read a post recently which said they hadn't realise Luke McFarlane was gay and they now wouldn't be watching any more of his movies. For anyone here who doesn't know Jonathan Bennett is openly gay so you can make your own mind up whether you would wish to watch this" - Florence

Movie Review:

🌟 "Star-Crossed Romance is mostly family-friendly, with a few cautions... God's name is used in vain, at least twice, and the drama teacher, who is one of the side characters, acts VERY, VERY Strange. He has a fairly large stomach and he often rubs it and rolls around to get on the stage. My eyebrows were raised more than a few times. The chemistry between the leads was lacking, in my opinion, and some of the acting was sub-par. I never quite understood why the parents were punished to work on the school play's set after their children, who are portraying a modern (very odd) re-telling of Romeo and Juliet, got in a fight. Near the end, there was a nice moment when the two single parents and their children enjoy a family dinner, but even that was spoiled when Piper, the mother, asks if they say grace, and the father and daughter, say “yeah,” and they simply say “grace” loudly in unison. They all laugh and begin to eat. So… praying is essentially laughed at. I could go on, but I'll just say it has a happy ending where family is put first before work, but the movie is definitely not a keeper for me." ~Net

🌟 "I watched Star-Crossed Romance and agreed with all your comments. While it had some cute moments, it was a strange mishmash overall. That drama teacher was so odd and kind of creepy. And the rather gothic vibe of their Romeo and Juliet production bothered me, especially the big red glowing crosses at the end which seemed very gothic. And the makeup on her son bothered me, as again it seemed very gothic. I wouldn’t recommend this one for kids, and regret watching it myself." ~Deborah

🔎 "I streamed this movie through Pureflix, which may or may not have edited some of the content. What I saw was a mystery fairly equivalent to any Hallmark Movies & Mysteries type film. The actress who played Gabby's best friend was really perky and fun throughout the movie. Also, the mystery part of the movie was intriguing and the romance part was sweet." ~Net
