Movie Reviews:

πŸ’— "Loved Harmony Of The Heart. Great chemistry and the singing was beautiful." ~Misty

πŸ’— "Harmony from the Heart is another big win for GAC Family!! And 2 new movies next month?! Squeal!!" -Maria

πŸ’— "Harmony Of The Heart is close to perfection! What a beautiful story! Loved everything about this movie. I have watched it 3 times already. The singing blew me away. To Bill Abbott I say "THANK YOU" for giving us these beautiful stories. Praying God will bless GAC to soar above all expectations." ~kitkat

πŸ’— "So happy to see someone say that didn't like "The Wedding Veil Unveiled". I thought I thought I was the only one!! I just could not get into that movie! The role just didn't seem to fit Autumn Reeser. I finally changed the channel and watched Harmony of the Heart...great movie by the way!" ~Joyce in Carolina

πŸ’— "Heartwarming and hilarious – this Valentine’s Day themed movie is the perfect mix of romance, drama and comedy! One minute, I was misty-eyed and the next, I was laughing out loud! Jesse Metcalfe and Jessica Lowndes had just the right amount of chemistry, starting off at odds, and then gradually, that tension eased. Jessica’s character, Violet, is determined that her musical therapy can help improve one's emotional well-being and physical health, while Jesse Metcalfe’s character, Dr. Blake Williams, a heart surgeon, is not convinced, until he watches, day by day, as Violet works with his grandfather. The ensemble cast was wonderful! Loved Violet’s witty best friend, Desiree, a hopeful romantic - who owns a flower shop, Blake’s fun, energetic brother, Max, who owns a chocolate shop, and Blake’s grandparents, who were equally wonderful in their roles. I truly felt actress Susan Hogan’s heart, as the grandmother, watching her husband struggle with therapy, especially knowing in real life, how she has watched her husband go through medical struggles and triumphs since his fall in early 2020. The singing was beautiful throughout the movie, and I loved the emotion of all of these characters. “Harmony from the Heart” is a very sweet movie, one I look forward to watching over and over again!" ~Net

My Quick Take:

I think it's wonderful GAC Family has created this heartwarming movie to celebrate Valentine's Day, especially since this is the network's very first time marking this holiday.

It's also nice to see Jessica Lowndes on GAC Family again. "Harmony from the Heart" is Jessica's third movie with GAC Family; her previous two films are: "An Autumn Romance" and "Angel Falls Christmas." Jesse Metcalfe, in contrast, will make his first appearance on GAC Family with this romantic comedy. I'm hoping we will see even more of him - throughout the year!

It's also wonderful to see actress Susan Hogan ("The Christmas Secret," "The Wedding March") is part of this ensemble cast in "Harmony from the Heart." As many of us know, her real-life husband, Michael (who starred alongside her in "The Christmas Secret"), has been dealing with a serious medical injury for two years now. As he has been gradually improving, it's been a joy to see Susan acting again.

The movie explores the connection between music therapy and it's healing powers in improving one's emotional well-being and physical health. I'm fully convinced that a cheerful heart is good for the soul and body. As scripture tells us, "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." ~Proverbs 17:22

I'm looking forward to seeing how Jessica Lowndes's character, Violet, will convince the strictly by-the-book Dr. Blake Williams (Jesse Metcalfe) in the medicinal power of music. It will also be a treat to hear Jesse Metcalfe & Jessica Lowndes sing in this movie, since they both have such lovely voices.

  1. I feel like it's a shame that this actress always wears sleazy clothes in the movies she's in... it's a turn off to me. There are so many cute and modest clothes, I don't know why she can't wear those instead

    1. I prefer modesty, too, when it comes to fashion.

    2. Anonymous, I have wondered about this too. Jessica appears to be a sweet, loving person who gives the impression she is a Christian. I really like her but dressing provocatively is sending the wrong message. Jessica and Jesse should be fantastic together. This movie has me excited. Can't wait to watch!

  2. Can't wait for this movie, I miss Jesse Metcalf.

I am excited for the "POstables marathon this wekeend, as the movies featured are some of the best they have ever made. They are playing Truth Be Told, Impossible Dream, From the Heart One in a Million and Lost without you. all of those movies are so good and have such great stories told in them. You also see Shane and Oliver start falling more in love in these movies. I love how the story of their date is told in the movie and the date was in the previous movie.

I saw that there is a new mystery with Andrew walker and Nikki deloach, something about a caterer. its funny that HM wants to do something different with mysteries so they arent the same things, but yet they continue making new mysteries? Why start new mysteries when you have a handful that haven't been cancelled, but also have big ratings and have stories that have been left unfinished? And is the caterer going to solve mysteries now? I havent watched cut color murder yet, but i hope they didnt leave any mystery to it cause we will likely never know what happened cause they will not ever have any more. Supposedly it was the beginning of more Hannah movies, will we ever see mike and hannah get married? Why invest in another new mystery as a viewer?

I get they want to put new people in the mysteries, but cant they do what they did with the wedding veil and put more HM stars in each others mysteries? Like why cant nikki and andrew be part of the next aurora? It has worked well for the wedding veil cause it did well in the ratings. It just seems hard to get excited about another new mystery when the others i am left wondering what happened?

    1. Sabrina - Me too! It seems like forever since we've seen Jesse Metcalfe in a lighthearted rom-com TV movie. It was really a wonderful surprise when we first learned he would be starring alongside Jessica in this one for GAC Family. I suspect "Martha's Vineyard" may be one of the mysteries cancelled on HMM, too. I hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised. Have you heard anything?

Speaking of hearing movie news, I also saw the news on Nikki's and Andrew's new mystery. Doesn't it seem like forever ago that we first heard it might be a possibility. I'm thinking that was even before all the pandemic. I'm really excited about this new mystery - since one of the co-writers is John Christian Plummer, who also writes the "Mystery 101" movies, which I love! Plus, he also worked on the BYU TV series, "Granite Flats," which is oddly intriguing and captivating with it's spy drama set in the 1960's.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Hallmark sharing more news on this new mystery. I like that they shortened the title from "Dying for Chocolate: A Curious Caterer Mystery" to "The Curious Caterer."

You are sooooo right about the HMM mysteries, Sabrina! Spot on. Hallmark says the mysteries aren't pulling in enough viewers, but they keep on cancelling existing ones and creating new ones. It really doesn't make sense. That is such an excellent point.

Great to hear your perspective, as always! :)

      Blessings on your day! Net

    1. It looks like Jessica will be singing throughout the movie, but I think you're right, we may have to wait near the end to hear Jesse.

  4. I believe in the healing power of music too. Someone I know was supposed to die, but they came out of a coma when they heard family members singing.

  5. I am looking forward to this one - for the most part, I have enjoyed the movies that Jessica and Jesse have been in. And Net, yes, it is so nice to see Susan Hogan back, and it is especially nice to hear that her husband is improving! I hope that their son Gabriel returns at some point to star in a Hallmark or GAC movie.

  9. Can music heal you?

Scientific evidence suggests that music can have a profound effect on individuals – from helping improve the recovery of motor and cognitive function in stroke patients, reducing symptoms of depression in patients suffering from dementia, even helping patients undergoing surgery to experience less pain and heal faster.

  10. From what I have read, Jessica wrote this movie, which doesn't surprise me, given her love of music.

  11. Dr. Blake & Violet are gonna sing together

  12. By removing the negative energy, music also helps people concentrate better. It is often used by doctors during medical procedures as well. Healing centers also surround people with calming sounds or noises to make them feel at ease. In such ways, music therapy can solve cognitive knots or deficiencies in the brain.

  13. Jessica Lowndes wrote this scripts last 4 years ago & the movie called; “Harmony from the Heart”, her character is named after her Mother’s named Violet. Jesse Metcalfe is a big fan of hers.
