๐ŸŽฌ UPtv's June 2024 Movie Premieres - - SEE HERE:

UPtv is showing four rom-com movies in their schedule for June, 2024.

Please be sure to read the reviews for the first three movies below.

May The Best Wedding Win

Premiere Date: June 2, 2024

Storyline: When Tiffany’s fiancรฉe calls off their wedding, she is heartbroken – that her dream wedding is off! After her frenemy snaps up the bookings for her own wedding, Tiffany hires an actor to be her groom.

Movie Reviews:

๐Ÿ’ Reel One's May the Best Wedding Win is not clean (gay man and his 'lover') and is honestly really stupid and annoying. (on Peacock). -Maria

๐Ÿ’ Sadly have to agree - this movie is one big waste of time. One of the weakest ROE movies I have ever watched - Florence

The Wedding Rule

Premiere Date: June 9, 2024

Storyline: Former childhood friends are bequeathed a restaurant on one condition: they must be married to claim the inheritance. Both being single, the race is on to find the “one”.

Movie Reviews:

๐Ÿ’ "The Wedding Rule" from Reel One (Peacock streaming) – not family-friendly. Around 20 minutes in, a barista behaves like a silly middle school girl to convey his homosexual attraction to the uninterested male lead, even writing a heart and his phone number on the coffee cup. We see him fawning in a couple more scenes. Then, some language is tossed in: playing pin the tail on the donkey at a speed dating event, the two leads joke about being bad*** and jack***; later she exclaims "d*** it" when he correctly guesses a secret ingredient. There's also a scene with the male lead in nothing but a towel.

Beyond the disappointing content, the movie just didn't draw me in, hitting neither a particularly sweet nor fun note. I was game for an unrealistic plot, but the whole marry-a-stranger-in-3-weeks never even got believable traction in the script. Feels like this one should have sped straight to marry-each-other-to-save-the-restaurant-then-grow-to-realize-it's-actually-for-real as the bulk of the movie. Overall, it left me bummed about the squandered talent. Oh well! ~Alicia

๐Ÿ’ Alicia, I actually quite liked this but then I particularly like Dennis Andres although certainly it's one of those where you have to suspend belief but there wasn't enough "unfriendly" content to spoil it for me.

The scene where Max had a bare chest was nothing you wouldn't see on a beach anywhere and the towel completely covered his lower half.

Not that it would have changed your opinion of the story line but you were unfortunate to watch it on Peacock.

I saw it through UP Faith & Family and they had done a bit of editing - taken out bad language and there was no scene where the barista wrote his phone number on the coffee cup for Max - Florence

A Match for the Prince

Premiere Date: June 16, 2024

Storyline: An acclaimed medieval romance novelist is hired to be a matchmaker for a real-life prince in a desperate attempt to find true love before the fixed royal wedding date.

Movie Reviews:

๐Ÿ’ Reel One's A Match for the Prince is clean. (streaming on Peacock). -Maria

Discovering Love

Premiere Date: June 23, 2024

Storyline: An archeology professor must team up with a dig-first-ask-questions-later treasure hunter to find the long lost crown of Helen of Troy.

Stars Carlos PenaVega and Alexa PenaVega Attend Screening Released by Great American Pure Flix

LEXINGTON, Ky., May 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- Great American Pure Flix announces Carlos PenaVega ("Spy Kids," Big Time Rush) and Alexa PenaVega ("Spy Kids," "The Casagrandes Movie") will attend the world premiere of the original motion picture, "Mr. Manhattan" on May 22, 2024, in the film's shoot location of Lexington, Kentucky.

The exclusive premiere will include a 600-person screening of the film at The Kentucky Theatre, presented by VisitLEX, along with a red-carpet experience, and VIP attendees including cast and crew of the film, as well as members from Asbury University.

"It is a joy to have produced the beautiful motion picture, 'Mr. Manhattan,' down in the Bluegrass," said Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Great American Media. "Kentucky has great incentives and well-trained crews. The state built on bourbon and horse racing can now add filmmaking to its achievements and Great American Media has plans to be back in the state soon working on more original films in the near future," Abbott concluded.

In "Mr. Manhattan," Mason Bradley (Carlos PenaVega) makes a promise to his brother and sister-in-law to be godfather to their newborn son. Mason has exciting news of his own: he's just been accepted to Columbia Law School, which comes as a shock to his fiancรฉ, Dani (Alexa PenaVega). Ten years on, Mason is surrounded by big city life and obsessed with becoming partner in his firm. Just when Mason feels personal success is at hand, he receives an unimaginable call, and his priorities are rapidly shifted in the face of a devastating life event.

"We're especially thankful for the incredible local support from VisitLEX and Asbury University. It wouldn't have been possible to shoot the film in Kentucky without their help, as well as Kentucky's competitive film incentive program.," said Brady Nasfell, producer of "Mr. Manhattan."

"Mr. Manhattan" is executive produced by Michael Scott, Jeffrey Peterson, David A. R. White, Kendall Baldwin, and Jim Ameduri. Producer is Brady Nasfell. Brian Herzlinger directs from an original screenplay by Andrea Nasfell.

Located in Wilmore, Kentucky, Asbury University provided integral production resources and film crew through its School of Communication Arts, including more than 25 students, faculty and staff who worked alongside the teams in central Kentucky and New York, N.Y. Recent Asbury M.F.A. graduate Ali Stiefel served as an office production assistant on the new movie.

"'Mr. Manhattan' opened a world of possibilities that I didn't even know existed in the film industry," Stiefel said. "I'm producing my own show this summer, and the knowledge I gained from working on set alongside the creators of 'Mr. Manhattan' equipped me with the skills to keep creating on my own, right here in Kentucky."

The event is set to be held from 5:45 p.m. to 10 p.m. EST, with the film beginning at 7:30 p.m., and limited tickets can be secured at https://bit.ly/mrmanhattanticket. "Mr. Manhattan" will be available to stream on Great American Pure Flix on Thursday, May 23 at 8 p.m. ET.

"Blue Ridge: The Series" Coming to INSP

Good news for "Blue Ridge: The Series"! According to Variety, "Independent cabler INSP, focused on Western programming, will premiere its original television series “Blue Ridge” July 28 at 9 p.m. ET."

Recently, the series was #1 on the popular streamer, Plex, and premiered throughout the month of April and May on the streaming source, The Cowboy Way Channel.

Based on the popular film Blue Ridge, which premiered in 2020, "Blue Ridge: The Series" is a six-episode procedural crime drama set in the lush and forbidding mountains of North Carolina.

Details via Imagicomm Entertainment:
Actor Johnathon Schaech is joined by a stellar cast in Season 1, including Sarah Lancaster (Chuck, Everwood, Christmas in the Smokies) as Elli Wise; A Martinez (Longmire, The Cowboys, Dark Winds) as Connor McGrath; Taegen Burns (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, The Right Stuff, Imaginary) as Maddie Wise; Tom Proctor (Ballad of Buster Scruggs, Justified, Guardians of the Galaxy) as Jeremiah Wade; Avianna Mynhier (The Walking Dead) as Deputy Maxx Covington; and Greg Perrow (The Warrant, Festival of Trees) as Deputy RP.

Special guest stars include Bruce Boxleitner, Max Martini, Ethan Embry, Mike O’Hearn, Erin Cahill, Jesse Kove, Lev Cameron and Jessica McKay.

NOTE: Due to violence, this series is best suited for a mature audience, pre-teen age and up. Otherwise, all episodes are family-friendly.

I hope many of you who were unable to stream this series, will be able to enjoy it this summer on INSP.

I previously received this wonderful review from RC back in April, and I just had to share it with all of you again...

๐ŸŒŸ Just watched the Blue Ridge movie for the first time and then the two episodes that have been released thus far. I am loving it!! So refreshing to see non-woke, old-fashioned themes in entertainment. A noble lawman who puts his life on the line for his family and his community. Masculinity depicted as something good, not toxic. Women who are strong without losing their femininity, unlike the feminist girlbosses we see in other media. A man who has taken responsibility for the mistakes that led to his divorce and is determined to win back his ex-wife. A romance in which the man serves and cares for the woman, and the woman respects and admires the man. But I think my favorite thing about the show is what it says about America. Our country has its dysfunctional subcultures, and one of those is definitely represented here by the feuding clans whose tribalistic mentality justifies violence and cheapens life. But then you have the main character who exemplifies the best of the American spirit: courage, individualism, personal responsibility, service, and traditional morals. And it’s a beautiful thing to see the best of America triumph over the worst of America. That’s one of the themes of American history and I love seeing that acknowledged. ~RC

Thank you, RC, again for sharing this fantastic review.

If any of you enjoyed the action-packed adventures and mystery of the movie Blue Ridge, then I believe you are going to love the same action, danger, and excitement in "Blue Ridge: The Series"!

Happy watching!

๐ŸŽ„ Great American Family's "A Royal Christmas Ball" Promo - Starring Danica McKellar and Oliver Rice ๐Ÿ‘‘ See Here:

Great American Family is rolling out the red carpet for Danica McKellar's new royal-themed Christmas movie, A Royal Christmas Ball!

This movie is the latest to be filmed and promoted on their channel for the upcoming 2024 Great American Christmas movie season. See the promo for this movie below.

Here's what we know, so far, about this movie:

A Royal Christmas Ball will include waltzes choreographed by “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer Gleb Savchencko. It is currently set to premiere this November on Great American Family.

Story synopsis via Great American Media: "In A Royal Christmas Ball, Chelsea Jones (Danica McKellar) is a dance instructor and studio owner in Chicago who inspires kids to find themselves through dance. Just before Christmas, Chelsea discovers a photo she’s never seen before. Chelsea thinks the young woman is her birth mother who passed away when she was only five years old. The woman is in a wedding dress tugging on the hand of a man wearing a wedding ring, but that is all that can be seen of the man Chelsea believes may be her father. The photo’s handwritten inscription reads, “Our place, Havenshire, December 23, 1984.” With only the internet, a plane ticket, and lifelong determination to go on, Chelsea now has four days in Havenshire to solve the mystery of her birth family. Along the way, she’ll have to sneak into a castle, teach a stubborn Prince how to dance, and be in just the right place on Christmas Eve when the bells toll."

A Royal Christmas Ball Promo:

Great American Family is currently using the title A Royal Christmas Ball to promote this film; however, there is a previous ION Christmas movie with the same title from 2017. Danica has said the title may change to A Cinderella Christmas Ball or something similar, so be sure to stay tuned IF there are any title changes or updates.

Of course, Danica McKellar is well-known for a number of TV and Christmas movies; notably, A Crown for Christmas is her most popular royal-themed Christmas movie to date. A Royal Christmas Ball will be her third royal film for Great American Family. The Winter Palace aired in 2022, and A Royal Date for Christmas aired in 2023.

More Great American Family News - In Case You Missed It:

Christmas in July is coming to Great American Family! Great American Media CEO Bill Abbott shared this exciting news in his latest insider email with this statement, "Movie enthusiasts can rest assured that we will go back to movies with Christmas in July, and then we will have a very strong slate of new, original movies through the end of 2024!"

Further information has not been released yet about when Christmas in July will begin, so please be sure to stay tuned for additional details. Last year, Great American Family ran Christmas movies 24/7 from July 1st to July 17th, and then from July 18th to July 30th, the channel aired three Christmas movies each night, from 6pm to 12am (EST). We will have to wait and see if the network plans to run a similar programming slate for Christmas in July this year.

At the end of July, Bill shared with his followers that we can expect to see the return of Great American Pure Flix films on Monday nights, beginning with GOD’S COUNTRY SONG on Monday, July 29th, and HEAVEN SENT on Monday, August 6th. MR. MANHATTAN, starring Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, will premiere May 23rd on the streaming source Great American Pure Flix and is projected to premiere on Great American Family in September.

Bill also promises, "There be much more to come in August, September and certainly at Christmas, including a mystery featuring Candace..." The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries: A Case for the Winemaker, starring Candace Cameron Bure, is set to premiere sometime later this year.

At this point, I know some viewers are disappointed with the reruns of classic programming airing on Great American Family. Hopefully, this explanation from Bill Abbott will help explain, "The reason we have been airing older series content is the number of people who watch these shows is double, and sometimes triple, the number who watch movies according to Nielsen. While we also love our movies and would much prefer to offer these rather than old series, we need to reach the biggest audience possible to be viable to advertisers."

So, if you want to support Great American Family and the content they are building on their network, we will all have to wait a little longer as the network continues to grow its library of films and expands its viewership. When Christmas in July or the movies begin again, be sure to tell your family and friends to tune in.

Please stay tuned for additional programming details.

Have a Blessed Day!

Movie Reviews:

๐Ÿ”Ž Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home Review.... A very good mystery. I can see this being a great series. Her relationship with her teenage children (who are very respectful) is great like Garage Sale Mysteries and has the same with her widowed father(similar to Mystery 101). It was family-friendly and it was another one of those kinds when the detective shares information!! His only fault is that he's a cat person...haha ;) I laughed when Rachel said Einstein had a dog.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

There was a scene when her work friend is doing yoga meditation. I was glad they didn't really go into it and in the end(killer reveal scene) there is a mention of the "D" word. Which was unfortunate, normally there is no language. Overall, I am glad I watched it and hope to see more! ~Abigail

๐Ÿ”Ž "Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home" - I saw this movie on streaming service. It's family friendly. Acting was good. Story is a little hard to follow. No real dynamics, but over all was a good mystery. ~Joyce in Carolina

๐Ÿ”Ž The Family Practice mysteries is streaming early on Hallmark Now. The movie was family-friendly, but I'll admit I was surprised that two swear words were included towards the end of the movie. Other than that it was surprisingly good. ~Laura

I hope you all have a nice weekend planned, and perhaps you can enjoy one of the new movies or When Calls the Heart.

I'm personally looking forward to seeing the return of Tom Thornton, Jack's brother, in this all-new WCTH episode. In the past, he was a troublesome character getting into all sorts of mischief; however, Faith was a good friend who helped him get a job many years ago that set him on a better path. Tom's history, however, does seem to make some skeptical on his current endeavor to find a choir. Is he on the up and up? When I see the upcoming promos/press images, I get a sort of Professor Harold Hill (the scheming traveling salesman) feel from The Music Man. Hopefully, Tom has turned over a new leaf.

There's also a new mystery movie premiere this weekend, and I want to include a special THANK YOU to Abigail, Joyce, and Laura for sharing early movie reviews for Family Practice Mysteries: Coming Home. If you didn't catch them before, you can see all three reviews above. Thank you, ladies, for taking the time to share with us. I know MANY appreciate this (as I do!) so much!

And, of course, the Hallmark Channel has a new puppy-themed movie! I'm sure all dog lovers (including myself!) will be thrilled to *catch* this one! Please note: I haven't pre-screened this movie, but if it is as cute as the promo, then we are all in for a nice *treat*!

Happy watching, everyone!
Blessings on your weekend,
