🌟 90s Sitcom Stars Coming to Reality TV - Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Melissa Joan Hart, Joey & Matthew Lawrence and More...

Two new shows are coming in August and September that star many celebrities we have known from 90s TV sitcoms and Hallmark & Great American Family movies.

The shows are called Special Forces: World's Toughest Test, which involves physical and mental challenges, and Totally '90s House, which focuses on home renovations.

I also wanted to share this fun fact... starring in Special Forces with Candace Cameron Bure is Oliver Hudson, who you may recall also starred along with Candace in the Hallmark time-travel movie, Journey Back to Christmas.

Check out the details for both of these new reality shows below...

Special Forces: World's Toughest Test - Season 5

According to FOX’s press release the celebrity recruits will be deployed in Malaysia to take on intense challenges in “the most hostile environment a soldier could operate in... the jungle.”

EW is reporting that "recruits will “adapt to uncomfortable conditions, unpredictable terrain and harsh jungle warfare tasks” as they endure challenges such as a claustrophobic, high-pressure search of an underground bunker to find crucial military weapons, a supply load retrieval while suspended 300 feet above the jungle floor, and a chemical gassing while finding coordinates of an enemy vessel. In this experiment, the celebrities try to survive demanding training exercises led by the Directing Staff (DS) Rudy Reyes, Billy Billingham, Jason “Foxy” Fox, and Jovon “Q” Quarles, an elite team of ex-special forces operatives. They will guide the recruits while testing them to see who has the guts and glory to make it to the end."

Competitors:

Matt Barnes (NBA champion)
Alycia Baumgardner (world champion boxer)
Candace Cameron Bure ("Full House," "Another Sweet Christmas")
David Charvet ("Baywatch," "Melrose Place")
Brandi Glanville ("The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills")
Collin Gosselin ("Jon & Kate Plus 8")
Oliver Hudson ("The Cleaning Lady," "Rules of Engagement")
LeSean McCoy (NFL Super Bowl champion)
Maxim Naumov (Olympic figure skater)
Ruby Rose ("Batwoman," "Orange Is the New Black")
George Santos (politician)
Hannah Stocking (comedian)
Breana Tiesi ("Selling Sunset")
Alexia Umansky ("Buying Beverly Hills")
Mauricio Umansky ("Buying Beverly Hills")

Premiere Date: Thursday, September 24, at 9/8c. on Fox

Totally '90s House

Hosted by Jaleel White (aka Urkel from Family Matters), this six-episode series is bringing the '90s back but with a serious home makeover twist! Two teams of beloved '90s stars go head-to-head to turn outdated houses into modern masterpieces, all while keeping a little of that retro charm in the mix.

And there's a $25,000 prize waiting at the end of the renovation road for the winning team's charity of choice.

The stars are split into two teams:

Team 1:
Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills, 90210)
Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven)
Jodie Sweetin (Full House)

Team 2:
Melissa Joan Hart (Clarissa Explains It All / Sabrina the Teenage Witch)
Keshia Knight Pulliam (The Cosby Show)
Matthew Lawrence (Boy Meets World)
Joey Lawrence (Blossom)

*They will be assisted by HGTV design experts Carter Oosterhouse and Sabrina Soto.

Premiere Date: Wednesday, August 26 at 9|8c on HGTV
Stream the next day on HBO Max

If you had the choice to be on either one of these series, which one would you choose?

I think both would be fun to watch, but if I had to participate, I would definitely choose the home makeover show! I would never last in a Survivor-type competition. Nope, not me. I mean, I like exercise and I'm fit and all, but I'm just not sure I could endure the jungle. How about you? Please share in the comments below.

Happy watching,

"SECOND CHANCE LOVE" - New Hallmark+ Series

New Reality Show coming to Hallmark+...

Press Release via Hallmark Media:

HALLMARK MEDIA ANNOUNCES THAT MATTHEW LAWRENCE AND TLC'S CHILLI WILL HOST AN ALL-NEW, ORIGINAL SERIES "SECOND CHANCE LOVE"

THE UNSCRIPTED SERIES GIVES FIVE COUPLES A SECOND SHOT AT FIRST LOVE, HALLMARK STYLE AND WILL PREMIERE ON HALLMARK + JANUARY 1, 2026

If you had a second chance at love, would you take it? Hallmark Media announces Second Chance Love, an all-new, unscripted series that gives five couples, ranging from their 30's to 70's and who dated 5 to 40 years ago, a second chance to reconnect with the one who got away against the backdrop of a romantic Italian resort. The inspiring series comes from Critical Content and will premiere exclusively on Hallmark+ January 1st, 2026. It was shot on location in Sardinia, Italy.

Hosted by Matthew Lawrence (Boy Meets World) and Chilli (TLC), the real-life couple will guide five couples through an unforgettable journey. Together as hosts, the pair brings a deeply personal, authentic perspective to the series.

In Second Chance Love, five pairs of first loves reunite for a two-week journey filled with nostalgia, emotional reflection, and intimate dates. Led by our hosts, they revisit their pasts, confront unfinished business, and rediscover what once brought them together. As they build new memories and lean on each other for support, one big question remains: will they rekindle the spark they once had or discover that love belongs in the past? Told only in the way Hallmark can, with heartfelt emotion, authentic connection, and just a touch of magic, this new, original series is a celebration of second chances and the enduring power of love.

"Working with Hallmark is a dream come true because the brand represents good quality content. I've always been very specific about brand alignment because representation matters in every aspect of partnership." said Chilli, host of Second Chance Love. "I love what Hallmark stands for, and this project is special to Matthew and me for several reasons. As executive producers and hosts, we can't wait to share the inspiration behind the pursuit of true love."

"Studies show that nearly 80% of reunited first loves stay together for years, often for life." said David Stefanou, head of Unscripted Programming, Hallmark Media. "There's something undeniably powerful about a love that endures, even across time and distance. It's a theme that has defined so many of Hallmark's most cherished stories, and with Second Chance Love, we're bringing that magic into the real world. We're giving couples the chance to rediscover a connection that may have never truly faded."

Second Chance Love is created by Jonathan and Meredith Sinclair. The show is executive produced by Rob Lobl, Jonathan Sinclair, Meredith Sinclair, and Jonathan Singer. The series comes from Critical Content.

Reminder: It's Monday Night at the Movies on Great American Family! See Jen Lilley Tonight in...

This one bears *repeating*...

Even though I included the movie, Love on Repeat, in my weekend movie post for it's Monday TV premiere, I thought it might be best to *REPEAT* it, since this is the launch of the Monday Night Movies on Great American Family from the Pure Flix streaming library!

Love on Repeat stars Jen Lilley and Andrew Lawrence in this romantic-comedy, which has been described as charming, family-friendly, and easy-going.

Storyline: Amber's (Jen Lilley) life is less than ideal. Recently split from the "perfect boyfriend," Amber is floundering, her on-the-job performance uninspired. When Amber starts re-living the same day over and over again, she realizes she is stuck in limbo and must finally decide what it will take to make her truly happy.

My thoughts...

I know. I know. Some people don't love the whole movie fantasy of re-living the same day over and over again until the lead character gets it right.

Mostly, everyone thinks of the movie, Groundhog Day, when they think of this movie scenario, but for me, I think of some special Christmas movies, which may be unknown to some... Christmas Everyday (starring Erik Von Detten, which first aired in 1996 on the ABC Family channel), Pete's Christmas (starring Zachary Gordon and Bailee Madison, which aired on the Hallmark Channel in 2013 and kind of disappeared after that), and 12 Dates of Christmas (another film from ABC Family; this one stars Amy Smart and Mark-Paul Gosselaar; it premiered in 2011).

However, even though I think those *repeat the day* movies are fun, there are some movies with that basic storyline that drive me bonkers, like Hallmark's rom-com, I Do, I Do, I Do. Even though I love the lead actors, Autumn Reeser and Antonio Cupo in Love at the Thanksgiving Day Parade, I don't, I don't, (yes, it bears repeating three times) I don't like the movie, I Do, I Do, I Do.

Please note: While I have seen bits and pieces of the movie, Love on Repeat, I have not watched the entire film, yet. If you've seen it and would like to share a review, please do so in comments below.

Also, there are streaming options for Love on Repeat at Amazon, Pure Flix, Tubi, Plex, etc...

Happy Monday Night
