ABC FAMILY’s 2014 Countdown to “25 Days of Christmas” - missing something?

"Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas" on ABC Family airs Sunday, November 23 - Sunday, November 30, 2014.

After looking over the "Christmas" countdown schedule, I realized something very important seems to be missing in ABC FAMILY’s annual Countdown to “25 Days of Christmas” television event. This year it seems to have very little, believe it or not, "CHRISTMAS"!

Typically, during ABC Family's countdown event in November, leading up to the 25 days of Christmas, we could look forward to seeing many Christmas Movies, and maybe a new Christmas Premiere Movie, as well... but not this year.

Movie highlights included during the countdown to the 25 days event are: Finding Nemo, A Cinderella Story, Another Cinderella Story, A Cinderella Story: Once Upon a Song, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Cars 2, Ratatouille, Mirror Mirror, Brave, Despicable Me, Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas (which is rather creepy and more Halloween-like), Home Alone 3, (which is set in winter, but not Christmas), etc... and finally a true Christmas Movie – National Lampoons Christmas Vacation airs November 29, 2014 at 10PM/9c. (please know: although this will be the edited TV version of National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, it will still contain language.)

To see the complete Countdown to 25 Days of Christmas Movie Schedule, click here.

The official "ABC Family 25 days of Christmas" TV Listings will be released today! Let's hope they have more Christmas and great classics from December 1st to December 25th!

She was once the best dancer to ever hit the Broadway stage, but an injury caused her to leave the spotlight, become a choreographer, and raise her daughter Mirabella (Sara Paxton). When Mirabella, the star of Harper’s next big production, decides to quit the show to get married, her mother is determined to put a stop to the wedding and show Mirabella that she cannot give up her career for love, especially to marry one-time playboy Marco (Alexander John). After the long flight to the Italian wedding site, Harper takes a swig from a strange bottle that is supposed to dull the pain of an old dance injury. Instead, the elixir magically turns Harper thirty years younger!

Harper’s younger appearance (Chelsea Kane plays Young Harper) allows her to secretly infiltrate the wedding – only to confront a huge obstacle in Mirabella’s father, Ryan (Tom Wopat), who can recognize his ex-wife in any form. After he, too, experiences the reverse-aging effects of the elixir (Drew Seeley plays Young Ryan), Ryan teams with Harper to reverse the damage she’s done to Mirabella and Marco’s relationship, hopefully in time to save the wedding. Throughout this fairytale romance, Harper, Mirabella, Ryan, and Marco express themes of life and love through song and dance.”

ABC Family premieres "You Again"

MOVIE REVIEW

You Again

Network: ABC Family

Original Air Date: March 9, 2013

CAST:

Kristen Bell ... Marni
Jamie Lee Curtis ... Gail
Sigourney Weaver ... Ramona
Odette Annable ... Joanna
Victor Garber ... Mark
Betty White ... Grandma Bunny
James Wolk ... Will
Kristin Chenoweth ... Georgia
Sean Wing ... Charlie
Kyle Bornheimer ... Tim
Billy Unger ... Ben
Christine Lakin ... Taylor
Meagan Holder ... Kendall
Patrick Duffy ... Richie
Anna A. White ... LouAnne

PLOT:

In "You Again," Bell plays Marni, a frazzled twenty-something desperate to stop her brother from marrying her high school nemesis.

DVD Synopsis:
You Again, the nonstop laugh fest, is pure fun that features an all-star cast with comedy pedigrees - including Kristen Bell, Sigourney Weaver, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Betty White. For Marni (Bell), high school was a horror movie, and her brother's wedding is the sequel when her archrival comes back to haunt her as his bride. It's nice girl versus mean girl in this hysterical reunion with the one person Marni would really like to forget. And if that weren't enough, Marni's mom (Curtis) reunites with her own high school nemesis (Weaver). Complete with hilarious, never-before-seen bonus material, You Again is one crazy comedy that'll keep you laughing again and again.

Movie Review:

The Movie, You Again, is quite funny and Kristin Bell is a great comedic actress!

If you ever had a rival in high school then you will totally relate to Marni, whose brother is marrying her arch enemy, who treated her badly when they were teenagers. The movie gives us flashbacks to Marni’s old high school days and then we are transported back to current day... where Marni is now a successful businesswoman in PR living in L.A.

However, when Marni returns home and sees who her brother is marrying, Joanna, the popular cheerleader, who always made her feel like a geek in high school.... well, suddenly Marni’s confidence begins to unravel little by little ... and she finds herself turning into her old high school self all over again.

It becomes obvious that Joanna, who pretends at first not to remember Marni, is still up to her mean, bullying ways. Marni tries every trick to separate her brother from Joanna, but every attempt only seems to bring them closer together until Marni eventually reveals the complete truth, which leaves everyone feeling miserable... including her brother, Will, their Mother Gail, Joanna, her Mother Ramona, and even Marni.

In the end... there are lessons learned: sometimes people grow, they change, and sometimes they don’t, but we can always learn to forgive. You can’t always control the things that happen to you, but you can control the way you react to it.

Please Note: It’s PG, but not great for really young kids due to some suggestive content, bullying, fighting, etc...

If you enjoy slapstick comedies that are somewhat cheesy, but always make you laugh - then you'll enjoy this movie.
