GAC Family will have the cable TV premiere of two romantic comedies coming soon, one starring Trevor Donovan ("Jingle Bell Princess") and the other starring, Susie Abromiet ("Much Ado About Christmas"). Both actors have previously starred in GAC Family movies and have a contract with the network.
Trevor's movie, "Prescription for Love," was first released in 2019 and has been available through multiple streaming sources since then. I have seen this movie, and if you like, you can read my review below. If you've seen it, I would love to hear your thoughts in comments. This will be the first time "Prescription for Love" will air on cable TV.
"Love in Bloom" was filmed in Brisbane, Australia and made its world premiere at the Brisbane International Film Festival in the Fall of 2021. Like "Prescription for Love," this will be the first time "Love in Bloom" will air on cable TV.

Storyline: Amelia (Susie Abromeit) has the perfect life; a successful floristry in Chicago and a boyfriend who is about to propose. When her soon-to-be-married little sister and fiancé become marooned at a mountain retreat days before their wedding in Primrose River Australia, Amelia and the Best Man, Grayson Tanner (Julian Haig), are tasked with stepping in to save the wedding. Amelia finds new meaning in the town’s beautiful gardens, and love where she least expected.

Even though I've seen Prescription for Love, I'm looking forward to watching it again on GAC Family. Plus, after seeing the gorgeous images and fascinating trailer for Love in Bloom, I'm very much intrigued and can't wait to see this movie, too.

It's a good while since I saw Prescription For Love but from what I remember it was an okay movie for me.
ReplyDeleteI recall Yrevor Donovan's character being rather nasty to the heroine at times and the workplace being rather unrealistic - I wouldn't have put up withe the Head Nurse but it wasn't bad.
It Will be interesting to see what others here think.
While I liked Much Ado About Nothing it was slightly spoiled for me by the lack of tension from the beginning when the two characters hit it off from the beginning.
I Susie Abromeit but can't really get a feel from the preview.
The two leads seem to fit well together and I'm always fascinated by an Australian setting so I'm hopeful about this - really hope there's a bit of tesion in the rfelationship - Florence
I love Prescription For Love, I've watched it at least twice on Streaming. It is family friendly and very very good. I don't think I've ever seen the other one but looks good.

ReplyDeleteYes, this is good news! I can't say I love all of her past movies, but I thought "Harmony from the Heart" was wonderful, and I hope we see more like that! :)
DeleteI've seen trevors movie on as a streaming option, but never took time t watch. I'm going to save my phone data and watch on GAC. Nicer to watch on TV over my phone anyway.

ReplyDeleteMulti-hyphenate Jessica Lowndeshas signed a four-picture deal to star in, write, direct and executive produce original films for GAC Family.
The announcement follows the weekend premiere of Harmony From The Heart, in which Lowndes starred with Jesse Metcalfe. She also wrote the original screenplay and executive produced the film.
Lowndes is also the latest Hallmark Channel alum to sign a deal with GAC Family, which is run by Bill Abbott, former CEO of Crown Media Family Networks, parent of Hallmark Channel. Abbott has been bringing in established Hallmark Channel talent he worked with while running the network. Lowndes joins fellow Hallmark Channel vets including Jen Lilley, Danica McKellar, & Trevor Donovan, all of whom have signed multi-picture deals with GAC Family. Additionally, When Calls the Heart alums Lori Loughlin & Daniel Lissing reunited for the return of spinoff When Hope Calls on GAC Family.
Harmony From The Heart marks the sixth film Lowndes has EP’d and her second produced script as a writer. She also performs several of the film’s original songs, which she wrote and produced, “11:11” with Grammy-nominated and Platinum-selling singer-songwriter and producer Zyra, alongside music producers Aaron Edwards (Miley Cyrus, Elohim, Lucy Hale) and Corey Walles. Edwards and Walles produced a majority of the music for the film.
Her first collaboration with GAC Family was Executive Producing and starring in Autumn Romance the first original film to air on the network. Lowndes recently Executive Produced & starred in the original film Angel Falls Christmas, which premiered on GAC Family in November 2021.

Prescription for Love: A Cinderella Story is family friendly. It’s about a modern Cinderella Story. Claire is a nurse who fights for a chance at love with a charming new doctor & for a promotion to free herself from the misery her supervisor creates.

Claire’s only relief is the patients she treats, and even that is not always a picnic. On a rare night off, she attends a dance performance for her Sister & gets trapped in an elevator with a charming man. There is an instant connection between them, but as they are “rescued” from the elevator, they are pulled away from each other before they can exchange names and numbers. The next day, Claire meets the man again when he is presented as the newest doctor at the hospital. But he doesn’t recognize her in her hospital scrubs and pushes away her attempts to reconnect. Claire is convinced that he isn’t interested. But as she works with him, she can’t ignore her feelings. Meanwhile, the doctor is torn between his developing feelings for Claire and the fond memory of the woman in the elevator. Despite the efforts of some to thwart her, Claire must find the strength to stand up for herself and go after what she wants and deserves: her own chance at happiness.
