New York, NY – June 15, 2023 – Great American Media and Sony Pictures Television’s Pure Flix have completed the previously announced merger to combine the two companies. The successful merger joins Great American Media’s family-friendly linear and FAST (free ad-supporting streaming TV) channels with the Pure Flix faith and family SVOD (subscription video on demand) service into a consolidated entity.

Great American Media retains a majority interest in the merged company and oversees day-to-day management of the independent organization under the leadership of Bill Abbott, who serves as CEO and reports to the company’s board of directors. Great American Media will build on the combined portfolio’s multi-faceted family and faith media brands and diversified content distribution capabilities to reach larger and broader audiences on each platform. “The merger marks a significant milestone for our company, our employees, our business partners and our fans as we take an important step in our mission to become the leader in trusted, faith and family entertainment for a large and under-served market,” said Abbott. “We are extremely excited that Sony Pictures has chosen to partner with us, and we look forward to combining these two dynamic organizations to accelerate Great American Media’s growth strategy.”

Actress Susie Abromeit (A Hot Cocoa Christmas, Love in Bloom, Snow Bride) shared some lovely pictures from the set of her new Great American Family Christmas movie, and I couldn't resist sharing them with you!

In the photos, you'll also see/meet Susie's co-star, Liam McIntyre, who you may recognize from the Great American Family rom-com movie, This Little Love of Mine.

Susie shared some fun details about this Christmas movie project in an interview with Bill Abbott (CEO of Great American Media) back in May, giving us a little synopsis of what the movie is about...

Designing Christmas (working title) is an upcoming Christmas movie project for Great American Family starring Susie Abromeit, who will be working with the same creative team behind her movie Romance in the Vineyard (A.K.A. Love by the Glass). In this new Christmas film, Susie will portray a woman who will take on the task of designing a home left to her by her late grandmother.

Speaking of Susie's other movie, Romance at the Vineyard, we're anticipating that film to premiere sometime this Summer or early Fall on Great American Family. (Update: Romance at the Vineyard will premiere in August!)

Susie has another handsome co-star in this movie, Tim Ross from Hearts Down Under.

In Remembrance of Actor Treat Williams...

On Monday evening, Hallmark posted to their social media some very sad, heartbreaking news... Actor Treat Williams, who portrayed a beloved father in many movies and series, including Everwood, Front of the Class, and Chesapeake Shores, has passed away.

Yahoo is reporting his death was due to a motorcycle accident in Vermont. Treat was wearing a helmet but was hit and thrown from his motorcycle, suffering critical injuries. Treat Williams was 71 years old.

My first remembrance of Treat is from the series Everwood. I enjoyed his portrayal of Dr. Andrew Brown and the way he connected with his children after the passing of his wife. The series was full of emotion and drama. In Hallmark Hall of Fame's Front of the Class, Treat portrayed a father who doesn't quite understand his son's medical condition and often takes his frustration out on him until he is diagnosed with Tourettes. After that, he does his best to make amends. Whatever role Treat took on was influential, powerful and memorable. In Chesapeake Shores, he portrayed Mick O'Brien, the patriarch to five grown children who often looked to their father for his wisdom and advice.

I know Treat Williams will be remembered fondly by the Hallmark family and all who worked with him through the years.

My heart and prayers go out to his wife, Pam, his children, Gill and Elinor, and all of his family and friends.

🎥 ICYMI: Hallmark Premiered New Fall Into Love Movie 🍁 at Christmas Con 🎄

Rom-Com stars were out in full force over the weekend with their fans at Christmas Con in Overland Park, Kansas.

Some of the actors/actresses attending the event were: Cindy Busby, Cameron Mathison, Danica McKellar, Erin Cahill, Taylor Cole, Autumn Reeser, Victor Webster, Tyler Hynes, Melissa Joan Hart, Kimberly Sustad, Benjamin Ayres, Jesse Metcalfe, Brooke D'Orsay, legendary actress Barbara Eden and more!

One of the highlights of the event was a premiere screening for those in attendance of an upcoming *Fall Into Love* Hallmark Channel movie titled "Field Day," starring Rachel Boston and Benjamin Ayres.

The network even revealed the key art/poster (seen below) for the event.

During an interview, Benjamin Ayres shared with the crowd that he portrays a teacher in the film, while Rachel Boston portrays one of three busy working mothers who are tasked with setting up Field Day at their childrens' school.

Premiere date for "Field Day" on the Hallmark Channel is currently TBA - to be announced.
