Reviews:

πŸŽ„ Mistletoe Murders – I finished this entire series running on Hallmark+ (December, 2024). There are 6 episodes in all. For me, it was just okay. I’ve reviewed the previous 4 episodes before, so I’ll focus this review on the last two.

The murder mystery in the last two episodes revolves around a book store owner. He has left a mystery behind to his nephews and various people in the community. That part of the story is intriguing, at first, but it feels drawn out by the end.

The local detective, Sam (a divorced single father), shares a special Christmas celebration with his teen-aged daughter, who will be leaving to spend Christmas with her mother. I usually find the daughter to be bubbly and fun, but she calls their early Christmas gift exchange, Dad-mas. This was mentioned several times, and I couldn’t help from cringing every time I heard it. I don’t like when anyone replaces Christ in Christmas.

Also, I didn’t notice any language in the previous episodes, but the d-word was used at least three times in this last episode. It’s like they asked what word are we allowed to use and they settled on that one and used it several times. Whatever. It really wasn’t needed.

There is a kiss by a man and woman (I won’t say who) at the end that is rather steamy. It’s not your standard, simple Hallmark kiss and the credits roll. Without going into detail, I’ll just say it was more than the typical kiss. Honestly, I was watching with other family members and it felt a little uncomfortable. Needless to say, I was glad when it ended.

I won’t give away any of the mystery portion, but I’ll simply say this episode leaves you with more mystery around Sarah Drew’s character. So, it’s likely that they are planning to bring it back next year.

If you really enjoy murder mysteries, you might like this series, but if you want a warm and cozy, lighthearted, stress-free Christmas movie/show, you’ll probably want to skip this. ~Net

πŸŽ„ Hey everyone, just wanted to report back on the Mistletoe Murders from Hallmark +. They were great! The narrating was distracting at first but I got used to it, but I would rather do without if I had a choice. The mysteries were very interesting and I liked the characters of the detective and his daughter, I just wish she had a friend in the show to be her partner in crime. The final and 3rd movie left on a major cliffhanger so hopefully they continue in 2025. I couldn’t find any info online. Aside from her year round Christmas store and the charming downtown area, the movies didn’t have that cozy vibe a la Murder She Baked that I love. Her own background being intertwined (similar to Jeff in Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries) made it slightly creepy for me. But if they made more I would definitely watch them, just not alone at night Lol ~Paula

πŸŽ„ I wanted to post about the last 2 installments of Mistletoe Murders! I loved this series until now. I'm like you Net, the use of the D--- word shocked me. I even ran it back to listen again to make sure I heard it correctly. And the kissing scene was definitely more than we are use to seeing. The acting and and the mystery itself was great. But this is not suited for smaller children. There's a little more violence in the last one too. Didn't like the Dad-Mas either. ~Joyce in Carolina

πŸŽ„ Mistletoe Murders - I just rewatched the first season and I would advise skipping that kiss scene. I thinking it was way too sensual. I often skip any kiss Erin Krakow does as well. As much as I love her and WCTH, often her kisses are quite heavy.~Abigail

Hallmark Makes New Streaming Deal for Christmas and Beyond - See Details:

Hey, Streamers & Movie Dreamers...

In case you missed this news, Hallmark Media has struck a multi-year agreement with Netflix that will bring Hallmark’s original series and select films to Netflix in the United States, as well as make some of its holiday films available internationally.

With this new deal, the first two seasons of the series "The Way Home" will stream on Netflix beginning October 1, 2025, with the third season arriving in February 2026. Future seasons will debut first on Hallmark Channel/Hallmark+ before streaming on Netflix.

In addition to airing Hallmark's series, the agreement also includes some of Hallmark's Christmas movies, including "Haul Out the Holly," "Haul Out the Holly: Lit Up," "All I Need for Christmas," "Christmas Under the Lights," "Our Holiday Story," and more.

Romantic comedies that will debut on Netflix include "An Unexpected Valentine," "Sisterhood, Inc.," "The Royal We," "Hats Off to Love," "Love in the Clouds," and more.

These movies will stream in markets where Hallmark’s own streaming platform, Hallmark+, has less reach.

Hallmark views Netflix as a way to reach a broader audience worldwide, while still maintaining its main shows and movies on Hallmark+ and its cable channel.

Have a Merry Day!

The one problem? The very different siblings, who are each going through their own personal life challenges, have naturally gone in separate directions over the years, and the idea of spending 10 days cooped up on a river cruise together makes each Keller child cringe for their own reasons. But they say 'yes' because that's what families do, never expecting it to turn out to be a glorious once-in-a-lifetime experience full of missed connections, new friendships, stunning vistas, relationship upheaval, budding romances, shipboard games, family bonding, and a secret that brings them all together in time for Christmas.'

*NOTE: This movie features a same-sex couple.

My Quick Take:

So… the Hallmark Channel has officially unwrapped its Christmas movie list for 2025! πŸŽ„

This year, we’ll be getting 24 brand-new Christmas movies. Sadly, it looks like *Miracles of Christmas* won’t be returning on Hallmark Mystery. I had a feeling, since their Christmas in June/July celebration was just a quick weekend, but still... it’s a little surprising, too, after all these years.

Another disappointment... I'm not seeing any mention of a DaySpring faith-based, inspirational movie in this year's line-up. I've so enjoyed those movies each year. I will truly miss seeing how those movies always incorporated the true meaning of Christmas.

And, I must admit, since so many of the new Christmas movie titles were announced early, there weren’t quite as many surprises this time around for the big reveal.

Perhaps, (I'll try to look on the bright side) with fewer new films... that just gives us more time to look forward to the stories we do have and to cozy up with some of our favorite Christmas classics along the way.

In a way, it may not be such a bad thing that the number of new films has been trimmed down. Many fans have said for years that 40 premieres felt like too many, so perhaps with fewer movies, each one will shine a little brighter and be every bit as magical as the favorites we’ve cherished from past seasons.

In addition to the holiday films & TV series, Hallmark will also premiere three reality series: Finding Mr. Christmas, Baked with Love: Holiday, and Ready, Set, Glow!.

I hope you discover many Christmas movies you will look forward to seeing on the Hallmark Channel this Christmas!

I look forward to sharing and hearing your movie reviews throughout the holiday season.

Joyous Christmas Blessings
to You All,
