PASADENA, CA – January 13, 2018 – Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, the premiere television destination for thrilling mysteries, will offer a slate of new, original world premiere movies as well as a new acquisition to further bolster the schedule. On the heels of record-breaking ratings in Q4, the network unveiled plans for new installments of returning, popular mystery franchises along with a new offering from Executive Producer Al Roker (“Today”), starring Holly Robinson Peete (“Christmas in Evergreen,” “Meet the Peetes”) and Rick Fox (“Greenleaf,” “Oz”). The announcement was made today as part of Crown Media Family Networks’ bi-annual TV Critics Association Press Tour.

“Viewers have a strong appetite for our mystery programming, as reflected in the ratings surge that Hallmark Movies & Mysteries has experienced with continued year-over-year growth,” said Michelle Vicary, Executive Vice President, Programming and Network Publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “We’re thrilled to introduce new franchises to complement returning viewer favorites as we take sleuths on smart, exciting and thrilling adventures through our storytelling.”

Audiences will be able to immerse themselves in their favorite mysteries with new installments of “Emma Fielding Mysteries” starring Courtney Thorne-Smith (“According to Jim,” “Melrose Place”) and James Tupper (“Big Little Lies,” “Revenge”), “Fixer Upper Mysteries” starring Grammy Award nominee Jewel and Colin Ferguson (“The Vampire Diaries”), the return of the POSTables in a new “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” adventure starring Eric Mabius (“Ugly Betty”), Kristin Booth (“Orphan Black”), Crystal Lowe (“Primeval: New World”) and Geoff Gustafson (“Rogue”) along with a new “Hailey Dean Mystery” from Executive Producer Nancy Grace and starring Kellie Martin (“The Guest Book,” “ER”). The network will premiere “Morning Show Mystery: Mortal Mishaps,” an all new original movie from Executive Producer Al Roker (“Today”) starring Robinson Peete and Fox.

Further solidifying the network’s compelling mystery line-up is the addition of “Psych,” long-running dramedy starring James Roday, Dule Hill, Timothy Omundson, Corbin Bernsen and Maggie Lawson. The series follows young police consultant Shawn Spencer (Roday) who solves crimes with powers of observation so acute that Santa Barbara PD detectives think he’s psychic. Beginning January 15, three episodes air every weekday from 6-9 p.m. ET/PT, leading out of three episodes of “Monk.”

Viewers have made Hallmark Movies & Mysteries the premiere destination for mysteries on cable television, as reflected in a continued ratings surge in 2017. Compared to 2016, the network’s annual “Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas” programming event showed double-digit increases over the same period a year ago among HH (+20%), W18-49 (+16%), W25-54 (+12%), A18-49 (+11%), A25-54 (+13%) and Total Viewers (+19%).*

Cast Details: For those of you who have been asking in comments below... YES, Officer Tommy's last name in the first "Fixer Upper" Movie was Simmons and his last name in this new "Fixer Upper" movie is Sloane.

In the official Hallmark press picture featured here (below) with Jason Cermak (who portrays Tommy) and Colin Ferguson, I was able to zoom into an enlarged image and see his name tag, indeed, says Sloane in this movie. The name tag on his uniform in the first movie was Simmons. (See image shared on Twitter- HERE) Why this change? Could it have been a simple error or purposeful? For now, it's a mystery!

Also, an "Anonymous" commenter has mentioned below- there have also been changes made to Colin Ferguson's character name.

PLOT:

Storyline via Hallmark: When home renovator extraordinaire Shannon Hughes (Jewel) finds a human skull in the basement of her current project, she sets out to discover who is behind the mysterious death by piecing together clues left behind in the victim's hidden diary. With the help of her new client, famous crime reporter and author Macintyre 'Mac' Sullivan (Ferguson), together they follow the trail to Shannon's old high school to nail the culprit, but not before another diary is discovered, a murder shocks the resort town, close friends are suspected of foul play, and the truth behind the overwhelming success and generous financial support of the high school's football team and athletic program is revealed.

via Hallmark Press Release:

PERFECT CAPPER TO WEEKENDS
ARE CAPERS FEATURING STRONG, SMART WOMEN
ON TV’S TOP DESTINATION FOR MYSTERIES AND WHODUNITS

STUDIO CITY, CA – March 2, 2017 -- Sunday night usually means plotting the workweek and planning meals. True, all of that needs doing, but what better way to end the weekend properly than with a delicious mystery?

Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, TV’s number one destination for smart mysteries and whodunits, offers four consecutive weeks of new movies starting March 19. You can even make the argument that by solving the mystery, you’re getting your brain ready to tackle the week.

And let’s face it, solving mysteries are way more fun than making lists for work. So give yourself a decent break Sunday nights and settle in with these whodunits. Fans can also puzzle out which of the highly-rated network’s mystery movie franchises may soon be tapped to become its own limited series this August on cable’s fastest growing channel.

The Sunday 9 p.m. (ET/PT) lineup features fan favorites: “Aurora Teagarden: Dead Over Heels” (March 19), “Murder She Baked: Just Desserts” (March 26), “Concrete Evidence: A Fixer Upper Mystery” (April 2) and “Hailey Dean Mysteries: Deadly Estate” (April 9).

These sleuths come from all backgrounds: a librarian, a baker, a renovator and a therapist. None sought out a new career as a detective. Are they to blame if murders keep happening around them? And what sort of woman would turn her back on these crimes and not help her community?

Each movie represents how women juggle so much – families and careers, friends and romance – and piece together pretty dicey happenings. While giving to others and working so hard, each of our heroines tries hard to keep her love life going. And, they’re doing well! In one, they move close to engagement, in another, the two leads are finally dating. One film reveals how an attraction is becoming undeniable and in the fourth, a love interest’s near-death experience proves how important he is.

This isn’t a “stars they’re just like us” routine. These women are us. They are every multi-tasking woman, determined to do it all, and well. And in case life was not complicated enough, they all take on that extra challenge of solving murders.

Hope your getting your sleuthing skills ready for these four new mysteries!
