πŸŽ„ Lifetime Announces "Ladies of the 80’s: A Divas Christmas"

Today Lifetime announces one of their Christmas movies to premiere this 2023 Christmas movie season, Ladies of the 80’s: A Divas Christmas.

If you watched TV during the 80's or you've watched reruns from that time, then you'll surely recognize these ladies and names... Loni Anderson (WKRP in Cincinnati), Morgan Fairchild (Falcon Crest), Linda Gray (Dallas), and Donna Mills and Nicollette Sheridan (both from Knots Landing).

According to Lifetime's press release, "In Ladies of the '80s: A Divas Christmas, five glamorous soap opera actresses reunite to share the spotlight to shoot the final Christmas episode of their long-running soap opera. The producer, Alex (Travis Burns) and director Nell (Taylor Ann Thompson), who happen to be old college friends, do their best to keep things on the rails but as the ladies come together, old rivalries resurface that threaten to tear the whole production apart. With the show nearly canceled before it even begins due to the ladies' famous diva behavior, they reluctantly agree to set aside their differences and past secrets to "act" as if they all still love each other. When old sparks reignite between Alex and Nell, the ladies become eager to play cupid and conspire to bring the couple together. Along the way, the divas also discover that the love between them all is still very strong too."

Cast members also include:
Taylor Ann Thompson and Travis Burns

Lifetime is reporting... "an airdate will be announced (for Ladies of the 80’s: A Divas Christmas) in the coming weeks, along with the rest of the channel’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime holiday movie slate. So stay tuned!

Ladies of the House

MOVIE REVIEW

Ladies of the House:

Hallmark Channel Movie starring Florence Henderson (Brady Bunch), Donna Mills (Knots Landing), and Pam Grier (Roots: The Next Generation).

CAST:

Florence Henderson ... Rose
Donna Mills ... Elizabeth
Pam Grier ... Birdie
Lance Henriksen ... Frank
Richard Roundtree ... Stan
Gordon Thomson ... Richard

PLOT:

from Hallmark-

When three friends single-handedly take on the rebuilding of a run down house, they soon dscover that their own lives require an equal amount of renovation.

With their church in dire need of funds in order to maintain its daycare center, the local pastor turns to three parishners for help: Rose (Florence Henderson), whose beloved husband, Frank (Lance Henriksen) is hiding a serious medical condition; well-to-do Elizabeth (Donna Mills), the haughty wife of a an inattentive plastic surgeon, (Gordon Thomson); and Birdie (Pam Grier), who is trying to adjust to life now that her husband, Stan (Richard Roundtree), a new retiree, is using his free time to be a general nuisance around the house.

The pastor's solution is to have the ladies oversee renovations of a run-down house that was donated to the church, but with no funds for a proper crew, the women reluctantly agree to take on the heavy lifting themselves, form pipes to paint. As the little house's upgrades continue, its slow progress mirrors deep personal changes in the lives of three women, who are forced to make difficult decisions regarding their lives, their past decisions and the future.

Movie Review:

This is a definite Chic-Flick.... there are some adult issues dealt with- love, marriage, sickness, adultery, and death. In spite of all of those issues.... there are a lot of light-hearted fun moments in between, as well... as we watch these unique women build this house and rebuild their lives.

It's an interesting journey to watch these women. Not a movie I think children would enjoy - so watch this one with your girlfriends, sisters, or mother.

(SPOILER) Note: there are some sad moments in this movie, as Rose's husband gets very sick and passes away. Birdie rebuilds her relationship with her husband and Elizabeth decides to end her marriage, as she is tired of her husband cheating on her.

There is a lot of emotion here, and maybe you will see yourself in one of these characters, and discover there is strength in love and friendship.
