5 Hallmark Christmas Movies from 2014 to be released on DVD! Plus More!!!

Each year, I know so many of us are eager to watch and obtain the Hallmark Christmas Movies on DVD. Typically, we have to wait 'til the next fall to see which ones are released, and hope they decide to release our favorites. Well, not this year, at least for FIVE of the upcoming Hallmark Christmas Movies, which will be released only days after airing on TV!

So, which Titles will be available?

So, why are these Christmas movies being released, this year?

According to Business Wire, "Cinedigm Corp., a leading independent content distributor in the United States, with direct relationships with over 60,000 physical retail storefronts and digital platforms, including Wal-Mart, Target, iTunes, Netflix, and Amazon, etc... has made a deal with Chesler/Perlmutter Productions to release family and faith-friendly films. Additionally, Cinedigm has acquired the distribution rights to more than 24 back catalog titles from the Chesler/Perlmutter library. Cinedigm will have all US rights to the films, including digital, video-on-demand, and physical home entertainment."

Hayley Temple (AnnaLynne McCord), the famous talk show host, is preparing for the holiday season by working; she's planning her very important TV show, her Christmas special. Already a scrooge, Hayley is even more miserable when she finds out her real-estate fiancée Jason (Drew Scott) is cheating on her - on air. To clear her head, she goes on a drive and ends up in Carver Bend, Connecticut, unfortunately crashing through a local judge's fence. Forced to do community service, she helps out her rescuer Logan (Jefferson Brown), by building a float for the town's annual Christmas parade to help save the town's art centre. While Hayley bonds with the locals, the art centre kids, and grows closer to Logan, she re-learns why the holidays are important to spend with loved ones, and she re-discovers the spirit of Christmas.

Christmas Movie Title Updates

I just recently received word from Chesler/Perlmutter Productions that four of their Christmas Movies have changed their titles. Most of the changes are minor, except one.

Finding Christmas

Here is the list of the updated Christmas Movie Titles:

The Twelve Trees of Christmas is about Cheri Jamison (Lindy Booth), a librarian who rallies the residents of her beloved Manhattan neighborhood to participate in a Christmas tree contest when the cherished local library is abruptly set for demolition. Cheri finds herself up against an ambitious developer Tony Shaughnessy (Robin Dunne) who has plans to demolish the library to redevelop the neighborhood, and build a brand new, bland structure. Cheri argues that libraries are more than just a building they are the cornerstones of neighborhood, creating a special place where the modern world is left behind so that books, art and music can be read and appreciated.

When she realizes that the developer is unmoved by her protests, Cheri targets Rosaleen Shaughnessy, the head of the foundation that owns the library building. The widow of the man who built the neighborhood in the 1950s, Rosaleen loves the building and the community but is under the sway of her grandson who is urging her to sell. Cheri comes up with the idea of a tree decorating competition to bring the neighborhood together to save the library and to convince Rosaleen not to let her grandson sell the library. However, Tony is on to Cheri’s plans, signs up for a tree and hires Cordelia (Melanie Brown), a famous designer, to decorate his tree so he can win the competition and his grandmother will still agree to sell the library.

Owen Harrison (JT Hodges) and his sister Ryan (Tricia Helfer) have bad luck in their romantic lives. Owen just found out his first and only love is now engaged and Ryan is too busy being a single mom; balancing parenthood with her career. Sean Tucker (Mark Lutz) is the owner of a successful advertising company, but cannot enjoy the same fortune in his love life, as his girlfriend asks for a break when he decides to ask her to marry him. His assistant Mia (Cristina Rosato) suggests that he sign up to a house swap website that will give him a chance to get away and regroup.

Sean finds Owen on the website and they decide to switch homes for the holidays; both needing a break from love and work, and that the magic of Christmas will find them both their true love.

Movie Review:

The plot sounds a little like Trading Christmas, doesn't it? It should be interesting to see how they make this movie unique and different.

By the way, you may recognize the lead actress, Tricia Helfer, from another Hallmark Channel Christmas Movie, Mistletoe over Manhattan.
