Great news, Sleuthers! The second film in the "Nelly Knows Mystery" series is coming to Hallmark Mystery this March!
So far, it looks as if all clues point to this being the first mystery movie premiere of the year for Hallmark, unless another (currently unknown) mystery premieres the first week of March.

Here's the scoop on the movie details...
Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder
Premiere Date: Saturday, March 14, 8/7c
Starring: Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith
Storyline: Nelly and Detective Michael set out to solve the murder of a guest while at a lavish dinner.
*Note: In addition to Pascale and Kavan, this movie will also star Crystal Lowe ("Signed, Sealed, Delivered") and Markian Tarasiuk ("True Justice: Family Ties")
According to Markian's IMDB listings, he will be portraying his character, Eli Flint, from the "True Justice" series in this all-new "Nelly Knows Mystery."
I believe this may be the first time a character has crossed-over from one Hallmark mystery to another. (Do you know of any others?)
There are two other "True Justice" mysteries that have been filmed: "True Justice 2: Eye for an Eye" and "True Justice 3: Lost Love." Hopefully, we will see those mysteries soon.
Markian Tarasiuk is also starring in the new UP Faith & Family streaming series, "Blue Skies."
And while Crystal Lowe, from "Signed, Sealed, Delivered," is also in this new "Nelly Knows Mystery," I just wanted to make sure to note that it does NOT appear in any way that she is portraying her "SSD" character, Rita.

Wow Net, this is such exciting news! Although the “Nelly Knows Mysteries” were not my favorite, (Pascale’s silly personality took away from the seriousness of the mystery for me), I welcome any new mystery! I am just thankful Hallmark is still making them. If they ever stop, all I’ll have is my Murder She Wrote so they better not stop those reruns 😂 And what a treat to see Crystal Lowe in this new movie. Was Signed, Sealed, Delivered officially announced that it was canceled or are they just on a hiatus? Do we know anything about that? I hope we can also see the two “True Justice” movies that were recorded!

Paula, I haven't heard anything definite ether way for SSD. Since Crystal's diagnosis with stage 3 breast cancer last year - maybe they are giving her some time.
DeleteHallmark waited on filming one of the Hannah Swensen movies because Crystal was undergoing cancer treatments at the time, but I've been seeing a new Hannah Swensen title recently showing up in production notes, so hopefully, Crystal is well enough now to be involved.
I posted this comment down below on another comment, but posting here too in case you don’t see that comment. Crystal finished chemo yesterday. I think her mastectomy surgery is scheduled for February 19th. Then she’ll have to recover from that before starting radiation. She still has a long road yet, but she’s been in good spirits. Oh and one thing I didn’t mention below is that she was directing a movie from her hospital bed for Hallmark and she posted about being in one briefly too, so maybe this is that. She’s a rockstar handling everything. SSD would be more involved though, so I wouldn’t expect more of that till she’s through all her treatments. If Hallmark greenlights more, which Michelle Vicary seemed game to do and then Crystal announced her cancer diagnosis. Hoping for more so we can see the #POstables as parents!

Florence, I thought they filmed Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder last spring. I looked it up and it was mid/late March to early April, so not sure why they’ve held onto it this long, other than the timing of airing around the same time as When Calls the Heart, which makes sense, as far as ratings go.
DeleteI totally understand the hesitation to get involved with any of the mysteries, considering all the ones that ended without actually ending the story.
Of course, we all think first of Mystery 101 and the cliffhanger, but then there’s also Crossword Mysteries, Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries, Picture Perfect Mysteries, Dancing Detective, Chronicle Mysteries, and others!!!
And yeah… still no word on Mistletoe Murders. Very puzzling. But maybe there’s a script being worked out behind the scenes that we’re unaware of. Who knows. But I’ve certainly seen a lot of interest from viewers - wanting & requesting more of this series. Hope Hallmark agrees to it!

Does anyone know how Crystal is doing with her cancer. I’ve been praying for her.
Abigail, Yes, that would have been really neat to see Rita or one of the POstables in another mystery movie! They could easily show up delivering a letter or package! I’m having so much fun imagining the possibilities!!!
DeleteOn a serious note… As for Crystal’s health journey, this is an update she shared on Instagram three days ago:
“I'm so close to the next chapter and I'm feeling really strong about my choices and my team. This has been one of the toughest times in my life!!! But I'm here. I'm still standing, I hiked this morning and I plan on getting my core workouts on now! Once I have surgery I won't be able to sit up so l need that core strength to help me. Something I asked my surgeon yesterday was what can I do to make your job easier. She just said to stay healthy, workout when I can and take care of myself! So let's get fit together! #chemo #cancer #breastcancer #doublemastectomy” - Crystal Lowe (Instagram)

ReplyDeleteBut gotta say the crossover is a cool idea but it’s been so long since I’ve seen True Justice I don’t even remember who Eli Flint is. Guess I’ll have to rewatch that before this new Nelly Knows.
Allie B, Yeah, good point on the Eli character. I would’ve thought they would’ve crossed over someone like Hannah Swensen, a character more people know. I can imagine her working well on Curious Caterer with Goldie and her catering business!!! Maybe one day they’ll still do that.
