“Arthur Christmas” has a British cast that features Santa approaching retirement and two sons in the wings to take over. The oldest son, a commando type personality, has an assistant male elf that is very, very obsessed with him. Said elf gives him a pair of underwear for Christmas. Son #2-Arthur is a kind but bumbling guy with an enchanting personality filled with the giving of Christmas.
ReplyDeleteIt is everyone’s call on the age group for the movie.
-Gabe’s Mom
Oooh, very good movie! -Maria
DeleteGabe's Mom, I so appreciate you sharing this. We really have to be on guard these days, even with cartoons sadly.
DeleteSorry this is off topic, but I wanted to share this spot doesn’t happen to you.
ReplyDeleteYou know Hallmark + is available on hoopla (and still is). I’ve been able to see it on my kindle, iPhone and I bet it’ll work on the computer. But I purchased a Rocu today so I could watch it through the tv. I sadly discovered Rocu does offer Hoopla, but they do not let you binge watch Hallmark +. I will be returning my Rocu back to Walmart.
You mean Roku, not Rocu?
DeleteAbigail, Thank you for sharing this tip with us. Sorry it didn't work out for you with Hoopla.
DeleteIf you're interested... there are still many free apps & movies you can watch through Roku. Hallmark even has a free app called Hallmark Movies & More with older movies and the Roku Channel, Xumo, Tubi, etc... always have free Christmas movies (with ads) at Christmastime. Plus, there's the Dove Channel (not all fam-friendly, but most are) and Postiv, which airs lots of Christian movies for free. Anyway, I thought I would share that just in case you might be interested in checking it out before returning.
Plus, there's a YouTube app, so you can watch free movies there - on your TV, too. I do that a lot. So much nicer than watching on my computer.
Anyway, it may or may not work for you, but just wanted to share. :)
Thank you Net for the helpful info. At least I can still watch Hallmark for free on my iPhone and tablet.
DeleteHaha … I just realized I spelled Roku wrong. I thought it looked odd as I typed it. ;)
Net-thank you for mentioning Positiv is on Roku! I have found a lot of good content on my Roku (and have the Frndly app which I use most), but I didn't realize I could add the Positiv channel! I had just recently heard of the channel but thankful to know I can watch it on Roku. You are such a blessing! ~LR
DeleteLR, I'm happy to share! Enjoy! It always surprises me how much good free content is available through Roku, but sometimes it's like looking for a needle in a haystack!!! :)
DeleteIn past years, The Freeform channel version of "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" has been the unedited version which I love even more. The CBS and now NBC version is the edited version so looking forward to Freeform's unedited version.
ReplyDeleteJim, Thank you so much for reminding me of this!!!!! I've got to be sure to record Rudolph this year and look for the extras!!!! :)
DeleteSo exciting, I love all the nostalgic throw back movies we can now watch with my babies π
ReplyDelete~Paula
Paula, Yes, so fun to watch these movies & cartoons with the whole family!!!! :)
DeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I always look forward to sharing the Freeform schedule every year! :)
DeleteI watched Home Alone and Home Alone 2 last night. It was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteSabrina
Sabrina, I caught the first one! So fun, as always! :)
DeleteNet & Sabrina, me too! I had it on while cooking dinner & and I was cracking up at Kevin as if it’s the first time Iv ever seen it π
Delete~Paula
Sabrina & Paula... I love that we were all watching Home Alone together! With all of the streaming and recording, I feel like that is so rare these days.
DeleteI also love movies like that in the background as I'm busy in the kitchen or whatever. Since I know it by heart, if I can hear it, then I can also visualize it in my mind as I'm busy. But yeah... I got pulled into various scenes... like the church scene with the neighbor... there's just something so real and warm about that conversation; I always have to stop and watch that part.
Old Man Marley: "Well, this is the place (church) to be if you’re feeling bad about yourself."
Kevin: "It is?"
Old Man Marley: "I think so."
Kevin: "Are you feeling bad about yourself?"
Old Man Marley: "No."
Every time I hear that part, it always brings a smile to my face... so sweet and innocent. I love that Home Alone has humor and heart; that's what makes it so good. :)
It's so interesting that you all have mentioned wanting to watch or actually watching Home Alone again. I've just had it in my mind to watch both Home Alone movies again this Christmas year. It's been many years since I have watched the whole movies. I just catch a small glimpse here and there. I have forgotten so much of it. Now, I KNOW that I need to watch them again at hearing your enthusiasm.
DeleteYes Jim give them a watch this year! I can’t choose a fave, I love 1 & 2 equally the same.
Delete~Paula
