πŸŽ„ *Merry Christmas* dear 'It's a Wonderful Movie' Family & Friends! πŸŽ„

Merry Christmas!
JOY to the World - The LORD has Come!

May the true GIFT of Christmas, JESUS, the Christ Child, who was born in a manger, fill our hearts and homes with joy and peace.

Whether you're wrapping gifts, reading a special Christmas story, baking sugar cookies in the shapes of stars, bells & trees, watching a Christmas movie this week, or simply enjoying some quiet time, this Christmas may we cherish precious memories of Christmases from the past and embrace the Lord's "presence" above all of the Christmas "presents" under the tree!

Also, be sure to look in the sky for something else besides Santa's sleigh! On the first day of winter, Monday, December 21st, 2020 - Jupiter and Saturn will appear to be very close in the southwestern skyline, creating the look of one bright star from earth. The last time this occured was over 800 years ago! According to ChristianToday.com, "the most famous great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn occurred in 7 B.C.—auspiciously close to the birth of Jesus. Close enough that some believe that the great conjunction is the Star of Bethlehem." Isn't that spectacular? Be sure to look on Monday about 45 minutes to an hour after sunset and around 15 degrees above the horizon. If you happen to miss the peak of this event on Monday, the 21st, rest assured the planets will still be very close for days afterwards as they gradually part ways once again.

"Oh, star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright.
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect light."
(lyrics from "We Three Kings")

During this Christmas week... if you're wanting to catch some good old Christmas classics, there are still plenty to see, including It's a Wonderful Life on Christmas Eve, Meet Me in St. Louis, It Happened on 5th Avenue, The Santa Clause trilogy, Home Alone, Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and many more! See the Christmas Movie Schedule for times airing.

If you'd like to binge watch movies on Christmas day, look for a full day marathon of It's a Wonderful Life - on Friday from 6am/5c. to 12am/11c on the E! Entertainment channel, and for those who have Hallmark Drama, there's a "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" first season and movie marathon soooo BIG - it takes two days - Saturday, December 26th & Sunday, December 27th!

When we get together on Christmas day, before any gift is opened, our family gathers around close and the story of Jesus' birth is read by my father from Luke 2.

Here's a special print out of the scriptures from Luke, if you'd like to read it on Christmas day, post it on your refrigerator or share with loved ones...

🌟🌟SHINING HIS LIGHT!🌟🌟

Luke 2:1-14 (KJV)

1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

  4. Cross Country Christmas: I didn’t expect to love this, but it was silly, cute, & jeez Rachael Leigh Cook carried the entire movie. She was super charming & funny. SHENANIGANS!

    3. I watched it and it was pretty good, but not my favorite. The chemistry was just off to me. They seemed like just friends. I liked Dashing Through The Snow better.

    1. Jennifer, Thank you for your Christmas well-wishes.

I will have to check into the newsletter. I haven't heard of others having troubles, but you never know technology. Have you checked your spam folder. Sometimes they can end up there for me. You may want to click on an old email newsletter and add my email address to your address book. That might help. Let me know if you still have trouble receiving them.

Merry (belated) Christmas to you & Happy New Year!!! :)

    2. Thanks! I’ve checked my spam and nothing there. My mom is also not getting the newsletters. We both have yahoo so I don’t know if that’s the problem.

  8. Thank you, again, Net, for assembling these awesome & helpful lists. Very much appreciated. The ending to a tough year & the kids Not home for Christmas this year has been upsetting & emotionally challenging. The annual favorite movie habit of mine has only grown more pronounced with this year’s challenges. Very happy to be a part of this ‘group’ & I love that others remember the ENTIRE REASON for the season. ❤️πŸ™πŸ»

  9. Thank you, again, Net, for assembling these awesome lists. So very appreciated. It’s been a bit of a tough Christmas on my end, with our kids not being comfortable to travel home. Many of these movies are my annual habit & really comforting for me...this year perhaps quite a bit more than previously. Grateful & so happy that there are others ‘out there’ that know the ENTIRE REASON for the season!❤️πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

  12. Just wanted to let everyone know that Kristopher Polaha is in the new Wonder Woman movie. Only a few places but it was good to see him in a major production. Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and wish everyone a Happy New Year. God bless us everyone. RG

    1. RG, I remember hearing Kristopher Polaha mention that awhile back. Did you like the movie overall? I see it's rated PG-13.

Kristoffer also had a role in the theater movie Run the Race.

  13. I enjoyed the sequel a lot. Not as good as the first one, but still I found it very entertaining. Might go see it again. Was nice to see one of my favorite Hallmark actors on the big screen. RG

  14. Sorry, but I really think these movies have run their course.

Evergreen 4 was extremely weak probably because there were really no new characters introduced and imo dull.

It was a struggle to watch it through to the end.

I'm so sorry to hear you also were not receiving my newsletters. Half of my email list was going out, but not the other - so I know many were not receiving them mid-December to the New Year. I looked into it and did a little tech stuff behind-the-scenes and thankfully, I'm so glad to hear everyone is receiving them again! Yay!!!

A very Happy New Year to you, too!!! Welcome back!!! :)
