Remembering September 11th, 2001...

On this September 11th, 24 years later, may we pause to pray for our country, remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the promise that we will never forget the tragic events of that day.

Please also keep the family of Charlie Kirk in your heartfelt prayers as they grieve such a devastating loss. May God bring them comfort and peace during this time.

God Bless America,

55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

Reflections on September 11th, 2001 - GOD BLESS AMERICA!

On this September 11th, known as Patriot Day, may we all remember the lives lost in the horrific terrorist attacks on America in 2001.

For those of us who lived through September 11th, the memory of what took place is seared into our memory. I will never forget the disturbing images I saw or how terrified I felt that day as my family and I gathered around the TV to watch the endless news coverage. I remember falling to my knees in prayer and crying for the people who perished and the family and friends they left behind.

We were forever changed as a nation, but thankfully, our country, at that time, was firmly united. Americans proudly wore red, white, and blue and flew the American flag with great pride. Even though it was a dark time, the spirit of patriotism and God's amazing love shined through.

Let us continue to pray for peace in America and for those who lost someone they loved on that day.

If you've never seen the film Flight 93, it is a heartrending depiction of what took place on September 11th, 2001. This movie, made in 2006, stars many actors you are sure to recognize from Hallmark movies, including Brennan Elliott (His and Hers, Crossword Mysteries), Karen Holness (Christmas at the Plaza, The Christmas Promise), April Telek (Big Sky River, A World Record Christmas), Laura Mennell (A Country Wedding, Cedar Cove), Tom Butler (Anything for Love, Chesapeake Shores), Wanda Cannon (Christmas List, Surprised by Love), Zak Santiago (Signed, Sealed, Delivered), Hrothgar Mathews (When Calls the Heart), Eric Keenleyside (Martha's Vineyard Mystery), and Daryl Shuttleworth (Christmas in Evergreen).

You can see the movie Flight 93 on YouTube - here. Please note: due to the intense, heavy story based on these real-life events, this is not a film for children; it does include language and violence.

May God bless and protect America.

With an enormous love for my Country,

Honoring September 11th - God Bless America

Remembering September 11th...

Let us continue to pray for peace in America and for those who lost someone they loved on September 11, 2001.

As time moves us further away, I hope and pray, as a nation, we will never forget what took place on that day - when terrorists struck planes into our World Trade Center in New York City and our Pentagon in Virginia, and when the heroes of Flight 93 crashed their hijacked plane into a field in Pennsylvania.

My heart remains with the victims from that day and their families, along with our military and first responders/rescuers - who lost their lives because of that day.

As we remember that dark time, I pray we will also never forget the patriotic spirit and the love that was shown in that time of tragedy. Let us be a Light to someone Today! Let us Love one another!

May this excerpt from the song, God Bless the USA, be our motto today... "For the flag still stands for freedom, and they can't take that away..."

God bless America
and all who visit here,

Reflections on September 11th... // Plus, Uplifting New Movies to Watch this Weekend - See Here:

image via: Cross Cards

Dear friends... On this weekend, as we reflect on the 20th year since September 11th, 2001, let us pray for the family and friends who remain and never forget what happened that day. Psalm 34:18 promises us this: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”

Do you remember where you were on September 11th? I was watching on TV from home that day as each horrible event unfolded that morning and praying hard it would come to an end; I recall holding family close and calling other family members on the phone - just wanting that connection with loved ones. It was such a dark morning, but through it all came stories of heroism that brought new light out of the darkness.

News networks will, of course, be covering the 9-11 memorials throughout Saturday. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani began the reading of the victim's names at Ground Zero in 2002 and this honorable, heartfelt tradition will continue this year at the 9/11 Memorial in New York — carried out by family members of those killed on September 11, 2001. There will also be memorials at the Pentagon in Washington, DC and the crash site of the United Airlines Flight 93 in Pennsylvania. Also, be sure to watch on TV Saturday evening for the incredible Tribute in Light. The 9-11 Memorial & Museum describes it as "a commemorative public art installation first presented six months after 9/11 and then every year thereafter, from dusk to dawn, on the night of September 11. It has become an iconic symbol that both honors those killed and celebrates the unbreakable spirit of New York." The Tribute in Light at Ground Zero truly is a beautiful tribute; once again showing that light outshines the darkness.

My prayers go out to all whose lives were immeasurably shattered and changed forever on September 11th.

It is hard to transition on to other subjects after this, but at the end of this difficult day on Saturday, if you are looking for something lighthearted to watch on TV, then you may want to turn to Hallmark's new movie, which includes a storyline of a Lieutenant who has recently left military service and is adapting to life back home. I am beyond grateful for our military, who keeps us safe from terrorists every day. See details for this movie and others below...

Remembering September 11, 2001 - GOD BLESS AMERICA!

Today, on this Patriot Day, we reflect on the tragic events of September 11, 2001 - when most of us watched on TV, as terrorists struck planes into our World Trade Center in New York City, our Pentagon in Virginia, and when the heroes of Flight 93 crashed their hijacked plane into a field in Pennsylvania. Our world since that day has never been the same.

As time moves us further away, I hope and pray, as a nation, we will never forget what took place that day. We must continue to pray for the families and remember the victims of September 11th, who were ordinary Americans, like you and me, simply going about their daily routine.

As we remember this dark time, be a Light to someone Today! Let us love one another!

God Bless America on September 11th, 2011

It has been ten years since that tragic day of September 11th, 2001...
when America's Homeland was viciously attacked and nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives in an instant.

We pray now, for our Country and those who lost someone they loved on that day. And, we pray, for those who escaped with their lives, but forever carry their memories.

Like many of you, I remember watching the events unfold on my TV that day, surrounded by my family - wondering what might happen next. It was extremely frightening, however, I pray we never forget.

God bless You All, our Courageous Military, and God bless America...

As we remember the terror of this horrible event in our American History, let us take heart in these words from our former President:

"Tonight, I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a Power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23:
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil for you are with me.
This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day, yet we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.

Thank you. Good night. And God bless America."

~ President George W. Bush
on the night of September 11, 2001

I know I will watch some of these shows, but I must admit, not all. It is difficult to re-live the memories of this tragic day, yet it is important for us all to remember it. I cannot imagine what those who were there on that day are going through... especially, after the earthquake on Tuesday, (August 23, 2011) which forced people to evacuate their work places after the buildings shook - reminding them eerily of 9/11 all over again.

I pray for all the families who endured loss on that day of September 11, 2001 and for those who have lost loved ones - soldiers, fighting for our freedom ever since.
