New episodes will roll out weekly. Blue Skies is a procedural series that blends mystery and action with emotional storytelling and the heartwarming bond between a detective and her canine companion. Viewers can stream season one of the series on UP Faith & Family now.

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Crystal Ridge National Park, Blue Skies follows former military police officer, Jodi Larsen, as she returns to her hometown to start over as a criminal investigator for the National Park Police. Driven by a love of the outdoors and a deep sense of justice, Jodi is determined to protect the park, its visitors and her community, whether from natural dangers or human threats. However, Jodi’s fresh start is anything but simple. She’s navigating a new team and a journey to reconnect with her father after her mother passed away while she was deployed. Her unexpected partner? A mischievous stray Labrador named Blue, whose instincts prove sharper than most trained K9s.

Each episode of Blue Skies combines suspense and unexpected turns with heartwarming moments as Jodi and her team tackle missing persons, environmental crimes and the secrets hidden deep within the park’s 5,000 square miles.

Season two will build on the stories and characters from the first season, including returning cast members Scarlet Hunter as Detective Jodi Larsen, Markian Tarasiuk (Mistletoe Connection, Virgin River) as Ryan Miller, Veronica Long (The Wrong Paris) as Detective Nora Esposito, David Lennon (Untamed) as Detective Alex Meeks, Darius Willis as Tyson Bernard and Shaughnessy Redden as Bill Larsen. Hiro Kanagawa (Star Trek: Discovery, Avatar: The Last Airbender) joins the cast as Superintendent Clive. Together, the team will tackle a whole new range of cases, their bond strengthening as a shadowy menace looms, threatening life well beyond the park borders.

I so enjoyed the first season of this series - the mysteries, friendships, the loyal detective dog, Blue, and more... and I'm really looking forward to season 2!

Please note: this is a crime mystery drama. In my opinion, it's best suited for preteen age and up.

Catch the Premiere of "Blue Skies" Tonight -- When & Where to Watch:

The mystery drama Blue Skies premieres tonight on UPtv at 9pm/8c, after an all-new episode of Hudson & Rex.

Blue Skies is a cozy sort of family mystery show, probably best suited for preteen age and up.

I do want to caution, though, that the first 5 minutes of the first episode are a little more intense, as it shows the lead actress, Scarlet Hunter, portraying Jodi Larsen in the midst of a shoot-out with criminals in her role as military police. After those intense first few minutes, the story is much more relaxed after that.

Along with meeting Jodi and learning a little about her life, this first episode will also introduce you to Jodi's father, a special friend from the past, her work team at the National Park Police, and you'll also meet Jodi's new friend, a highly skilled detective dog, whom she names Blue.

Season 1, Episode 1 - Trail of the Missing:

"Jodi Larsen recently joined the National Park Police after a year marked by the loss of her mother and her decision to leave the Military Police after serving her final tour of duty. She unexpectedly teams up with a dog named Blue as her new partner. Together, they tackle their first case, investigating the disappearance of a boy who went missing while camping with his family. As night falls, a race against time begins."

I have viewed the entire season of the Blue Skies series on UP Faith & Family. All eight episodes are family-friendly; however, please note this is a crime drama - so it is not for really young viewers.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching Jodi investigate crimes at the National Park, form friendships with her team at work, and reunite with a dear friend, Ryan Miller (played by Actor, Markian Tarasiuk (True Justice Mysteries, Christmas Jars)), who is always there for Jodi when she needs him. It's also sweet to see the great relationship Jodi has with her father - and the loving bond Jodi quickly develops with her new dog, Blue.

"Blue Skies" Season 1 - Coming to UPtv

I have great news for those of you who've been wanting to see the mystery series, Blue Skies! Season 1 is coming to UPtv soon!

Beginning Thursday, August 13th, Season 1 will start airing weekly on UPtv, making it the perfect time to join the mystery from the start!

If you've been following It's a Wonderful Movie for a while, you probably know I've been saying how much I enjoy this show ever since it premiered on UP Faith & Family back in February. One of my favorite parts is watching the sweet dog, Blue, sniff out clues and help solve the mysteries.

Even better, Season 2 is currently in production, so this will be the perfect time to start watching!
