"When Calls the Heart" Promo Videos for Season 2 and more!

The Hallmark Channel has released two lovely video promos for "When Calls The Heart" Season 2! I thought I would share both below, in case any of you haven't had the chance to view them, yet.

"When Calls the Heart" Season 2 Promos:

The Premiere Date for "When Calls The Heart" is the day before Easter, April 4, 2015!  (*and the day after my birthday... Yay!*) WCTH will air in the 9 PM/8c. hour on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday nights. I did find this timing surprising, since other Hallmark dramas have aired at the 8 PM/7c. hour and "When Calls the Heart" is definitely a wonderful family drama. However, I do know devoted fans will watch whenever the Hallmark Channel airs it!

*UPDATE: THE PREMIERE DATE FOR 'WHEN CALLS THE HEART' HAS BEEN MOVED TO APRIL 25, 2015 at 8 PM / 7c. See details here.

Remembering Skye McCole Bartusiak, with Love

This Sunday, the Hallmark Channel will have a movie marathon of the Love Comes Softly films. Sadly, one of the stars from the first film, Skye McCole Bartusiak, unexpectedly passed away this summer, on July 19th, from seizures.

As a young actress, Skye McCole Bartusiak was sweet, sassy, and spunky in her portrayal of young Missie Davis in Love Comes Softly.

Skye was absolutely amazing, amidst veteran actors Katherine Heigl and Dale Midkiff, in Love Comes Softly. One couldn't help from falling in love with the little girl, in the movie. Even with all her back-talk and defiance, all she really needed was the love and care, of a mother. With great emotion, she stood her own ground, in her role as young Missie Davis. She made me laugh, and she made me cry, with deep sadness. Then, later in the story, she made me cry all over again with complete joy! I know she touched many of our hearts.

Michael Landon Jr., who directed Love Comes Softly, shared via Twitter:
"My heart's breaking over tragic loss of Skye Bartusiak who played Missie in "Love Comes Softly." Thoughts and prayers to Helen and family."

The film Love Comes Softly is a wonderful beginning to the "Love Saga" series...
which are all family-friendly and set in the same prairie time period.

Love's Unfolding Dream

MOVIE REVIEW:

Love's Unfolding Dream:

This is the Sixth Movie of the "Love Comes Softly" Book turned Movie Series. The books are originally written by Christian author, Janette Oke and brought to the Movie format by Michael Landon, Jr. (The son of Michael Landon - Pa from Little House on the Prairie.)

CAST:

Erin Cottrell ... Missie Tyler
Dale Midkiff ... Clark Davis
Victor Browne ... Sheriff Zach Tyler
Samantha Smith ... Marty Davis
Scout Taylor-Compton ... Belinda Tyler
Robert Pine ... Dr. Micah Jackson
Richard Herd ... Windsor
Patrick Levis ... Drew Simpson
Nancy Linhan Charles ... Virginia Stafford-Smith

PLOT:

from Hallmark-

Eight years after finding new life and new love in the hometown of her father, Clark Davis (Dale Midkiff) and Missie Tyler (Erin Cottrell) must help her adopted daughter Belinda (Scout Taylor-Compton) find her own path in the Hallmark Original Movie “Love’s Unfolding Dream,” the sixth installment in the popular movie series that began in 2003 with “Love Comes Softly,”. Michael Landon, Jr. serves as co-writer and co-executive producer for the film.

Living happily in Anderson’s Corner with her adopted parents Missie and Zach Tyler (Victor Browne), Belinda Tyler has blossomed from the timid orphan in “Love’s Unending Legacy” into a confident young woman, a natural born caretaker who believes it is her purpose to serve her community as a doctor. But her resolution is tested when the town’s physician insists that women, with their need to be married and be mothers, are incompatible with a medical career. Further complicating Belinda’s life is the fact that she is falling in love with Drew Simpson (Patrick Levis), an attractive New York lawyer who expects a traditional wife and family back East. As her life is pulled in different directions, the headstrong Belinda begins to wonder if she can rely on her faith if she also follows her heart.

Movie Review:

I enjoyed this movie in the Love Comes Softly series. It was interesting how the characters intertwined and I loved the romantic story of Belinda and Drew. It was very sweet.

There are a couple intense medical scenes which may scare young children. (SPOILER:) In one scene a young girl is choking. She is saved, but there are some tense moments leading up to it. In another scene, a man's leg is amputeed, but he does not survive it. Very Sad.

I find there is always a twinge of sadness in each of these Love Comes Softly Movies. I know life was not always easy in the Pioneer - Prairie Days... so I guess they want to make it as real as possible.

In spite of those intense medical scenes - much of the rest of the movie is lighthearted and delightful. I enjoyed it and if you loved the first two movies in this series - you will love this one, too!
