🎬 It's a Wonderful Role! Jen Lilley to Star in Jimmy Stewart Biopic with KJ Apa

Classic Hollywood meets new charm!

I'm so thrilled to share this news that was revealed today... Jen Lilley (known for her TV movies on the Hallmark Channel and Great American Family) will step into Old Hollywood glam in a new James Stewart biopic film!

As someone who absolutely loves the classic beloved Christmas film, It’s a Wonderful Life, starring Jimmy Stewart, seeing Jen Lilley take part in a film honoring Stewart’s legacy makes this upcoming biopic all the more exciting!

In the new film, titled Jimmy, Jen Lilley will portray Gloria Stewart, Jimmy’s wife and longtime love. Always known for her charm and emotional depth, I think Jen is an excellent choice to play the woman behind one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars. This role is a significant move for Jen, as she trades cozy small-town Christmases for the glitz and glamour of classic Tinseltown.

The film stars KJ Apa (Riverdale) as Jimmy Stewart and is directed by Aaron Burns. It will explore Stewart’s early Hollywood days, his iconic performances in films like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and It’s a Wonderful Life, as well as his service as a WWII pilot. The story will also highlight his love story with Gloria, giving Jen a meaningful role in the heart of the film.

Joining the cast alongside Jen are Jason Alexander as studio exec Louis B. Mayer, Sarah Drew as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper, and Julian Works as Stewart’s wartime comrade.

Filming begins this September in Ireland, with a theatrical release set for November 2026.

I'm sure Jen Lilley will bring timeless grace to this timeless role.

Favorite perennial programming will once again return to viewers homes with "Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade," "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" and several others. New programming for 2024 includes "Jimmy Fallon's Holiday Seasoning Spectacular" and "A Motown Christmas," hosted by Smokey Robinson and Halle Bailey. When I think of Christmas, I think of the glowing lights, the cherished gifts, the holy star, angels on high, pure white snow, and so many more lovely things!

All of these Christmas treasures tie in to the holy birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, who came as a tiny little baby that first Christmas to save us from our sins.

On that first Christmas night when the star shown bright and the angels sang, Jesus was that first Light, the Light of the World. If we receive Him, then we, too, come out of the darkness and into the Light.

The Greatest Gift of all was given in a stable on that first Christmas. Love!

In order to receive Jesus, all we have to do is ask Him to come into our hearts and forgive us of our sins. Then He washes us white as snow!

Traditionally, again this Christmas, I will be spending the day with ALL my family. I love when everyone comes home! Before any gifts are unwrapped, my Father reads the Christmas story from Luke 2 in the Bible, and everyone listens intently as we think upon that first Christmas long, long ago. Jesus is always the first gift we receive Christmas morning. Then, we take turns unwrapping gifts from under the tree... appreciating the time together, the presents given, and enjoying the moment. Also, in my heart... I'll be remembering Christmases past and treasuring all of the precious memories - in the midst of making new ones!

My hope for all who visit here... is that you have a joyous Christmas- no matter where you are. My prayer is that you will find grace, comfort, and peace in the love of Jesus!

Tonight you can catch the Midnight showing of the classic Jimmy Stewart Christmas movie The Shop around the Corner on TCM!

I received an e-mail from one of the faithful followers on my site... This person was happy to see this midnight showing of The Shop Around the Corner, and they shared with me that I introduced it to them a couple years ago... and since then, it is one of their favorites! I love that so much and I was pleased to know I was able to do that for them! I hope many of the movies I suggest bring great joy to all of you!

It's a Wonderful Life moved to December 20th!

NBC has just changed their schedule and this may or may not be Wonderful News for many fans of It's a Wonderful Life.

Originally, it had been scheduled, since October, for the NBC Network to show It's a Wonderful Life on December 14th and 24th! It will now air December 20th and remain on the 24th, Christmas Eve, at 8 p.m. ET! Very close together!

Replacing NBC's scheduled broadcast of the holiday classic It's a Wonderful Life, is a repeat airing of the recently aired - Live stage version of The Sound of Music.

Personally, although I was looking forward to it this weekend, I think the 20th of December will actually be a Wonderful Night for It's a Wonderful Life to air! There won't be any new movies on the Hallmark Channel, ABC Family, UP, or Lifetime to compete on that night, so many more will be able to enjoy this beloved Christmas Classic!

According to our Source: Nielsen Media Research, "It's a Wonderful Life" had 5.62 million viewers and was #1 among adult viewers age 18-49 on December 24, 2012. This was it's most-watched airing since 2005! How they figure such facts is baffling; however, I certainly know our family was gathered around watching "It's a Wonderful Life" that evening, too! It has become an annual Christmas Eve Tradition in our home and it's fun to think we were joined in watching it with more than 5 million viewers! By any chance, were you one of them?

There's nothing quite like the closing scene when family, friends, and towns people gather around and celebrate George Bailey, "the Richest man in Town"! It is amazing how each life affects the other...

Jimmy Stewart Christmas Movie on TCM

No, it's not our favorite... "It's a Wonderful Life", however it's always good to see Jimmy Stewart in just about any movie. TCM is playing The Shop Around the Corner. A fun little romance movie with a scene around Christmas Time. Van Johnson & Judy Garland did a remake of this movie, titled "In the Good Ole Summertime".

Remember when...
we used to find this wonderful special - It's a Wonderful Life... numerous times during the Christmas Season. I recall our family making it a fun game to see how many times we could find it each year. Now, of course, it is exclusively owned by NBC.

This year, It's a Wonderful Life will air twice on NBC.

The first airing will be...

December 12th, from 8 PM - 11 PM

and the second airing will be Christmas Eve,

December 24th, from 8 PM - 11 PM.

"Oh, George Bailey... I'll love you til the day I die..."

Happy Birthday, Doris Day! ( April 3rd! )

Doris Day is one of my absolute favorite Movie Actresses of all time and I just wanted to wish her a belated April 3rd ~ Happy Birthday! I love how TCM (Turner Classic Movies) honors stars on their Birthday and I was definitely glued to Doris Day and Jimmy Stewart (one of my favorite actors, by the way!) yesterday in The Man Who Knew too Much! What a wonderful movie that is.... its one of those ones I absolutely love watching over and over, again and again!

Doris is also delightful in Move Over Darling and The Thrill of it all with the handsome, James Garner. I loved those two together. Their movies are rather fast-paced, witty, and intriguely fun! Doris, is the beautifully sweet girl-next-door type! I guess that's why she's so welled loved by many... for her endearing innocence and pure sweetness!
