"I'm dreaming of a White Christmas"... and more Christmas Classics!

While I know, many of us enjoy all the new Christmas Movies on TV... we still like to reminiscence and watch our favorite Classics, too!

For the next Four nights... (December 12- 15 on AMC!) we can start dreaming of a White Christmas along with Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, Danny Kaye, and Vera Ellen. Oh, I adore this Christmas Musical. I know many movie reviewers out there are hard on it and put it down - but I love it! To me, it just wouldn't seem like Christmas, without hearing Bing Crosby sing that beautiful Christmas song, White Christmas...

A Precious Moment for all children and grown-ups, to see... especially during this extra busy season.



Miracle on 34th Street (1947) - I Believe, I Believe...



Holiday Inn (1942) another wonderful Bing Crosby film... where he first sings White Christmas!



Christmas in Connecticut (1945) Love Barbara Stanwyck in this... she is fabulous and the film is very funny!



The Shop Around The Corner (1940) Starring the wonderful, Jimmy Stewart - who in my opinion, always steals the show!

Jimmy Stewart Movie Day on TCM - August 13, 2011

You may guess my favorite Jimmy Stewart film. It is, of course, It's a Wonderful Life. It is the very reason why this blog is titled, "It's a Wonderful Movie". I love everything about the movie - George Bailey, Bedford Falls, Clarence, the Bailey family, and as Mary Bailey says... "and well, everything!" Unfortunately, it cannot be played during this TCM Jimmy Stewart Movie Tribute Day. Why? Because it is owned by NBC and they play it once or twice at Christmastime. However, if you own It's a Wonderful Life on DVD - you can watch it whenever you want and there are many other Jimmy Stewart movies to enjoy!

There is actually another Jimmy Stewart movie, titled It's a Wonderful World. I have never seen it and it was done years before IAWL, but I am curious to watch it. (by the way - it is being played on August 12th!) It is not in any way connected to IAWL, except, that they both star Jimmy Stewart.

Plus, TCM is playing the incredible movie, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. We sure could use a man like Jimmy Stewart, in Washington today! I hope many will watch and be inspired. The Shop Around The Corner has a Christmas Scene - so many of us Christmas Movie watchers - will enjoy that one. Many of the other other movies TCM is playing of Jimmy Stewart's, are Westerns.

Jimmy Stewart Christmas Movie on TCM

No, it's not our favorite... "It's a Wonderful Life", however it's always good to see Jimmy Stewart in just about any movie. TCM is playing The Shop Around the Corner. A fun little romance movie with a scene around Christmas Time. Van Johnson & Judy Garland did a remake of this movie, titled "In the Good Ole Summertime".
