WCTH: Season 13 Episode 5
ReplyDeleteIs that promise ring holding in Allie’s hand with Oliver on the bench swing?
I realize that fossil that Allie was hokiding in her hand that Oliver gave her on the bench swing
DeleteCatherine O’Hara who plays the mom in Home Alone passed away today. Praying for her family and loved ones.
ReplyDeleteShortly after I submitted my weekend post above, I learned the very sad news that Actress Catherine O'Hara, best known as the ‘Home Alone’ mom, has passed away at the age of 71, after a brief illness. I know all of us who adore that movie are heartbroken over this news. 💔
ReplyDeletePraying now for her dear family and friends. 🙏🏻
Such sad news about Catherine O'Hara. Prayers for her family!
ReplyDeleteGood play on words Net...."A boatload of Kristoffer Polaha"! That's funny! I'm really looking forward to Missing the Boat too. He and Emilie had great chemistry in Hearts of Christmas so I believe this will be a great movie! The previews are hilarious!
Praying everyone will be safe and warm this weekend. We're in a for another round of winter weather here in the Carolinas!
"Missing the Boat" was delightful!!! The leads were so good together. I liked Kristoffer Polaha, and Emilie Ullerup. I loved Kris' comment on I have was born to ride a Vespa.
DeleteHas anyone heard from Jane-gle Jane? I haven't seen anything from her in a long time. I hope that she is alright.
ReplyDeleteJane, I'm hoping you see this message from Jim! Hope you are doing well, honey. We miss you!
DeleteOh no! So sorry to hear about Catherine O’Hara! Praying for her family! I’m happy I can still see her every Christmas when I watch Home Alone.
ReplyDeleteOn a lighter note, I am excited for the new movie this weekend! I also enjoyed them together in “Hearts of Christmas” so I am excited to see them reunite. Although it’s hard to believe when I see him with anyone besides Jill Wagner, just because I watched all of the Mystery 101.
~Paula
Oh man, not the Home Alone mom! I’m so sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the info on the David movie. I’m going to order the DVD.
Also looking forward to the new movie with Kristoffer & Emilie! Love them, honestly, Hallmark royalty if you ask me. 👑😉
And that picture of Allie and Oliver is the cutest! Christie
Anyone else still have their Christmas tree up or am I the only one? Our tree won't come down until end of February. That is a tradition now. Outside Christmas lights stay lit until February 1st. All other decorations come down a little at a time until the tree at the end of February finishes off the season. It's not so much ONLY about Christmas, it is that the house looks so much more pleasing and beautiful and peaceful with the tree still up and other decorations. Once everything is gone it is soooo bland looking. I never understand why a lot of people are in such a hurry to take everything down right after Christmas or new year's. Life just feels better with Christmas lights in it. It is like only being able to see a movie in black and white when it can look so much better in color. There are a few exceptions to that rule though.
ReplyDeleteJim, It's pretty much the exact same for us!!! This week, we'll be taking Christmas things down little by little. We simply enjoy it all throughout January, when we feel less rushed and can finally relax and watch the Christmas movies we missed. Anyway, that's just what works for us and makes us happy.
DeleteAnd I know exactly what you mean by "Life just feels better with Christmas lights in it." I feel the same way. There's nothing in this world like the LIGHT of Christmas!!!!
Oh my, Net! Your family is just like my mom and me. You do it just like we do! That is awesome! We LOVE the lights all through January and into February. We have to take everything down little by little because it would just be too much of a blow mentally to do it all at once haha. It makes me feel so happy that your family does it like mine.
DeleteJim I wish my Christmas tree and decor were still up! My husband works so much and he usually takes some time off right after the holidays so I have to take advantage and have him pack it all away right away 🥲 I need to at least get a mini Christmas tree to keep in my kitchen and decorate throughout the year for Valentine’s Day, Easter, etc…,I’m sure I can find one at Hobby Lobby.
Delete~Paula
Hi Paula...You definitely need to get that little Christmas tree...haha. You would be surprised how much joy you can get throughout the whole year with just a touch of something like that. I keep Christmas lights glowing all year in my bedroom and in the basement where I exercise. I don't light them all the time but quite often. Listening to Charlie Brown Christmas music and lighting up the Christmas glow can do wonders to the soul and just make you feel lighter amongst a heavy load that you may be carrying, even in May or August.
DeleteMissing the Boat looks really good.
ReplyDeleteMissing the Boat did not disappoint! It's laugh out loud funny at times. My husband even liked this one and laughed right along with me. Great acting and chemistry between Kris and Emilie which I was not surprised to see. Story line is different which is refreshing.
ReplyDeleteJoyce, So happy to hear this!!! Thank you so much for this review. I know how much you love Kristoffer's movies, so I'm glad this one was a winner - for you & your husband!!! :)
DeleteHello Friends 🤗
ReplyDeleteIt's be quiet a long time, I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and New Year!
Jim- I love how much you enjoy Christmas and extend it for as long as possible 👍
Sorry no tree up(too small a space) but watching movies & listening to Christmas music - I do that year round 😉
I Prefer Black/White movies, honestly 20s-50s was the Golden age of True talented actors and movies - IMHO..
We all have our favorite things, that makes each of Us Special and Unique!!
I had to comment on
Missing the Boat-
My two favorite Comedies of all time:
1938- Bringing up Baby
1944- Arsenic and old Lace
Emilie & Kristoffer were Brilliant in this movie ♥️♥️
The acting, the screenplay, scenery, supporting cast were just phenomenal.
My expectations for a reunion after 10 year's far exceeded my hopes.
Net my dear♥️ as Always, thank you for creating this beautiful website as a Safe haven for positive thoughts and Inspirational Expressions 🙏🙏
Been Praying for Everyone around the Country, especially dealing with Freezing weather conditions, it's 25 right now 😳 I live outside of Houston.
Stay warm & Safe🥰
Kathy, you must be my long lost sister! :) I too watch Christmas movies and listen to Christmas music throughout the whole year! But even more so, Bringing Up Baby happens to be my favorite all-time comedy as well! There is nothing like those old screwball comedies from the '30's and '40's. Since both of the movies you mention have Cary Grant, I assume (like me) you are a big fan of his. And just in case you haven't seen these 2 movies of his, may I also recommend The Awful Truth and The Philadelphia Story. Also, if you are interested in some reading on these type of films, let me know and I can recommend a couple of books. (I took an elective class on old comedy films back in my college days.)
DeleteBe safe and keep warm while you have some nice Christmas music (classic, of course!) going in the background.
Mark
Kathy, So wonderful to hear from you! And, I also adore the movie classics, but I must admit, it's been a long while since I've watched them with Christmas and all. I used to watch TCM much more frequently, often looking at their schedule monthly to see which movies were on. I need to do that again. Thank you for inspiring me! :)
DeleteGreat to hear how much you also enjoyed Missing the Boat, and I'm so glad you still enjoy visiting here & joining in on our "chats". Your comment truly warmed my heart! *It's a Wonderful Movie* is only a special place because of all the wonderful people who come here - like you!!!!!
Stay warm, sweet friend! :)
I hope GAFAM picks up Trivia Night Mysteries: A Question of Murder
ReplyDeleteStarring Morgan Bradley & Alex Trimble
Also sounds like a movie UPtv might air. I'll be sure to keep a look out for it. :)
DeleteWe loved Missing the Boat too! Winter Escape finished with the best movie. Kris & Emilie have great chemistry once again just like their Christmas movie. Christie
ReplyDeleteChristie, Good to hear you loved it, too! :)
DeleteNew Hannah Swenson Mysteries: Sugar & Vice
ReplyDeleteMarch 13, 2026
Hallmark Mystery
I posted the news here:
Deletehttps://itsawonderfulmovie.blogspot.com/2026/02/new-premiere-coming-to-hallmark-mystery-sugar-vice-hannah-swensen.html
Thank you for making sure we heard about this! :)
Another great episode of WCTH! Poor Nathan with his little girl growing up. But there can’t be a better man than Oliver for her. I look forward to next week. L. J. seems to be pushing a wedding for Mom & Dad. So sweet!!
ReplyDeleteBut about the dinosaurs and the earth being millions of years old. As a Christian I can’t believe that. I posted below a YouTube video of astrophysicist Dr. Jason Lisle on the biblical existence of dinosaurs and the age of the earth. It was really interesting. I thought you might enjoy it. He used to give lectures at the Creation Museum here in KY. My family enjoys watching him.

Missing the Boat-
ReplyDeleteSo I love storylines like this, where so many things happen as they are trying to make it home. And I love both actors individually, just together idk they seemed more like cousins to me. I think it was a fun watch, I would watch it again, but not a top romantic comedy I would try to catch every year.
~Paula
Does anyone know if Melissa Gilbert’s scenes were cut from WCTH since the issues with her husband? I hope not, but there’s been no sign of her.
ReplyDeleteI don’t think they are going to. I haven’t seen a post from Hallmark announcing it and I’m glad.
DeleteFingers crossed!
DeleteI haven't enjoyed a movie as much as I enjoyed Missing The Boat in a LONG TIME. Like many said, it is laugh out loud funny.
ReplyDeleteThe part where they are at the "Dr" for his back, I died laughing when he is sitting there for so long and then says "so are you going to look at my back?". I mean KP is just hilarious and this movie was made for KP and Emelie. They were just so funny and great together. I never wanted them to get back on the boat.
Now, of course, it would not be a Hallmark movie if there weren't some just really bad and unrealistic things. Take that storm for instance, they could not get on the boat cause of a thunderstorm? Really????
And seriously, the guy who was Parkers boss, was about the worst actor I have ever seen. There were pretty much 4 people in the movie, Parker, Kelly, Parkers sis, and his boss. There wasn't any better of an actor to play the boss? He was terrible, I am sorry. But it was distracting to say they least, when he was on.
And BTW, they are on a cruise, and there were at least 2 or 3 places that it was just Kelly, or just the sis, and NOBODY around for miles on the boat. Really???? At one point, the boss and sister were at the pool on the boat, and there was like 2 other people. I do not know what cruise that is, but when I went, there were lots of people in or at the pool.
But other than those few things, I forgot I was watching a Hallmark movie. When Kris and Emelie were on, and interacting with others off the boat, it was so good. I saved and will watch again.
What was even better for me, I wasn't even thinking about Kris and Emelie when they were together in Hearts of Christmas. Its so hard when pairs have been together in other movies, to not compare, but it was like these 2 were 2 different people, and thats good acting. I just loved this movie.
Looking forward to the other Valentine or whatever HM calls them. I have The Way to You to watch. Will try but its hard with the Winter Games on.
