Lost in Paradise

Premieres Saturday January 3 8/7c

Starring Lacey Chabert and Ian Harding

When the founder of a high-end fashion company gets marooned on an "deserted" island with a chef, romance blossoms as they work together to survive.

Movie Reviews:

🎬 Lost in Paradise is 1 giant barrel of laughs! -Maria

🎬 I am here to add my review of the newest Hallmark movie "Lost in Paradise". Let me start out by saying there were a few times we had to suspend reality but overall it was a fantastic movie. There was so much goodness to savor. Great scenery, funny dialog, amazing chemistry, good plot and a few twists quite honestly I did not expect. Ian should be the lead more often. He is handsome, easygoing and seriously great in this movie. So charming! He and Lacey were a nice match and believable as a couple. Also, some of the supporting cast was very good too. I will definitely watch it again with my hubby.~Joan

🎬 Lost in Paradise- just watched today and loved it! Lacey was perfect for the role-so genuine, and fun. I had thought they might make her character rich/uptight but she they really gave her depth and a sweet heart. I can't imagine anyone better for it-humor and heart. The male lead was also great in my opinion and loved them together. It's actually a re-watch for me which is saying a lot! ~LR (aka Lizzy)

🎬 Aside from Lost in Paradise being completely unrealistic with that impossible emergency landing and rafting in the storm to find another island 😂 it was a cute movie! I really enjoy Ian (I first watched him in Pretty Little Liars on ABC family when I was a teen) and the location was a fun one for them I’m sure! ~Paula

A Melbourne Match

Premieres Saturday January 10 8/7c

Starring Mallory Jansen and Ryan Corr

Georgie, a travel writer, travels to Melbourne for an assignment where she meets Zach, an Australian ex-footballer who agrees to be her tour guide and shows her that there's more to life than work.

Movie Reviews:

🎬 A Melbourne Match is so wonderful! –Maria

🎬 A Melbourne Match is such a great, heartwarming movie. The location, the actors, the story. Everything was just great. I like travel movies. Australia is such an interesting country. I liked the actors. I found out that Ryan Corr is from Melbourne, so he was in his element. I like Mallory Jansen and, btw, she's the writer of the movie, and you can feel how much she enjoys playing her role. And I enjoyed watching the movie. ~Oksanka

🎬 "A Melbourne Match" was so great! The location was stunning. The leads had amazing chemistry. The story was also good and not your typical overused plot. I think Mallory did a wonderful job, on the script she penned. She is a really lovely actress and the camera just adores her. She is stunning! Anyway, January movies, are so much fun, because I get to sit back and enjoy traveling to far away places without leaving the comfort of my couch! LOL ~Joan

🎬 I did watch the Mallory Jenson one, but I honestly deleted it after about 20 min….she just always falls so flat for me! But I may go and record it again since some on here have loved it! ~Paula

Love on the Amazon

Premieres Saturday January 17 8/7c

Starring Jaicy Elliott and Rafael de la Fuente

Gabby travels to the Amazon to reach her sister, a researcher, and meets a rugged riverboat Captain named Ryder.

Movie Reviews:

🎬 I thought Love on the Amazon was terrible, very badly acted and a very interesting plot. I haven’t loved any of the winter escape movies so far, but this was the worst, I’m hoping the last two will be better ~Anonymous

🎬 I actually liked the Love on the Amazon one. HOWEVER, I totally agree with you. They are doing way too many films (in my opinion) with out of the US locations. I find the ones with characters with heavy accents hard to understand. The foreign customs are a little interesting but I'd prefer them to be set in the USA somewhere (yes, I know they are filmed in Canada but that's okay too.) ~Anonymous

Caught by Love

Premieres Saturday January 24 8/7c

Starring Rachael Leigh Cook and Luke Macfarlane

While on a journey of self-discovery, a resort guest gets swept into an undercover investigation for stolen jewels that turns into an unexpected and adventurous romance.

Movie Review:

🎬 Caught by Love was a cute movie. Rachel and Luke had very good chemistry, but Luke usually has great chemistry with all his leads. Story line is definitely different and kept me guessing who the "buyer" was until the end. Comical at times too! Joyce in Carolina

Missing the Boat

Premieres Saturday January 31 8/7c

Starring Emilie Ullerup and Kristoffer Polaha

Strangers Kelly and Parker both end up on the same Italian cruise, but after missing the boat during a stop, they're forced to team up and race across southern Italy to catch up.

Movie Reviews:

🎬 Missing the Boat did not disappoint! It's laugh out loud funny at times. My husband even liked this one and laughed right along with me. Great acting and chemistry between Kris and Emilie which I was not surprised to see. Story line is different which is refreshing. Joyce in Carolina

🎬 Missing the Boat-
My two favorite Comedies of all time:
1938- Bringing up Baby
1944- Arsenic and old Lace
Emilie & Kristoffer were Brilliant in this movie ♥️♥️
The acting, the screenplay, scenery, supporting cast were just phenomenal.
My expectations for a reunion after 10 year's far exceeded my hopes. ~ Kathy♥️Texas

🎬 We loved Missing the Boat too! Winter Escape finished with the best movie. Kris & Emilie have great chemistry once again just like their Christmas movie. Christie

🎬 "Missing the Boat" was delightful!!! The leads were so good together. I liked Kristoffer Polaha, and Emilie Ullerup. I loved Kris' comment on I have was born to ride a Vespa. ~Namegirl

🎬 Missing the Boat- So I love storylines like this, where so many things happen as they are trying to make it home. And I love both actors individually, just together idk they seemed more like cousins to me. I think it was a fun watch, I would watch it again, but not a top romantic comedy I would try to catch every year. ~Paula

🎬 I haven't enjoyed a movie as much as I enjoyed Missing The Boat in a LONG TIME. Like many said, it is laugh out loud funny.

The part where they are at the "Dr" for his back, I died laughing when he is sitting there for so long and then says "so are you going to look at my back?". I mean KP is just hilarious and this movie was made for KP and Emelie. They were just so funny and great together. I never wanted them to get back on the boat.

Now, of course, it would not be a Hallmark movie if there weren't some just really bad and unrealistic things. Take that storm for instance, they could not get on the boat cause of a thunderstorm? Really????

And seriously, the guy who was Parkers boss, was about the worst actor I have ever seen. There were pretty much 4 people in the movie, Parker, Kelly, Parkers sis, and his boss. There wasn't any better of an actor to play the boss? He was terrible, I am sorry. But it was distracting to say they least, when he was on.

And BTW, they are on a cruise, and there were at least 2 or 3 places that it was just Kelly, or just the sis, and NOBODY around for miles on the boat. Really???? At one point, the boss and sister were at the pool on the boat, and there was like 2 other people. I do not know what cruise that is, but when I went, there were lots of people in or at the pool.

But other than those few things, I forgot I was watching a Hallmark movie. When Kris and Emelie were on, and interacting with others off the boat, it was so good. I saved and will watch again.

What was even better for me, I wasn't even thinking about Kris and Emelie when they were together in Hearts of Christmas. Its so hard when pairs have been together in other movies, to not compare, but it was like these 2 were 2 different people, and thats good acting. I just loved this movie. Sabrina

  1. I like Emelie Ullerup and will watch cause of her, but I am not ever a fan of the traveling movies. Sorry. I love the US and there is a lot of it to enjoy. Don't need the amazon or island resorts. Good to see her and Polaha reuniting.

  2. Interesting bunch of movies from Hallmark for January.

The perceived opinion is that they will cut back considerably on the number of new movies they air in 2026.

I was expecting 3 so this is a bonus.

You can't escape the fact that cable is dying - in 2020 88% of households had cable and this is now down to less than 25% - the numbers are beginning to look frighteningly irrelevant.

Back in 2020 Hallmark's Christmas movies averaged 2.9m viewers, this had dropped to 1.51 in 2024 and to date this season are only 1.2m close to the significant 1m mark.

    On paper these look good.

Ian Harding although he doesn't appear often may very well be my favorite male actor at the moment so I'm looking forward to seeing how he teams up with Lacey.

Mallory Jensen is far and away my fav actress currently although I've never heard of Ryan Corr - apparently he's Australian.

Don't know what to expect from Jaicy Elliott and Rafael de la Fuente but the synopsis looks good.

And fascinating to see the returns of Rachel Leigh Cook and Emille Ullerup both of whom have been missing from HM for some considerable time.

I'm hopeful for these movies in the uncertain times ahead for Cable - Florence

    1. Emilie Ullerup was just in Catch Of The Day with Michael Rady in August. She hasn't been missing but yes before that her last Hallmark movie was Retreat To You in 2023 and Rachael Leigh Cook was just in Sisterhood Inc in February 2025 but before that her last one was also in 2023 Rescuing Christmas

  4. Was hoping for more winter type movies. Snow themed. These sound better for summertime

  5. I love the travel movies! I get travel places that I haven't been and at least see a bit even though it isn't the focus of the storyline.

  6. Agreed, although if these seemed like remotely wintery retreats I wouldn’t mind, but alas apparently hallmark thought the lovely winterfest weren’t good enough

  7. I'm with you on this, Sabrina! I don't enjoy most of the "traveling movies" because they seem like travelogues that spend so much time showing the sites instead of furthering the storyline or developing the characters more. If I want to see the sites of a country, I'll watch Rick Steve's programs.

  8. Hi Net - I love your wonderful site & all of the terrific information you give us! Will "Love On The Amazon" premiere on January 17, instead of January 10, as listed above?

    1. Yes, You're right! That should be January 17. I corrected it above. Thank you for noticing & taking the time to let me know. :)

  9. I agree with Sabrina and Mark, I’m not too excited abut the traveling ones as they can seem like a huge ad. I wish these had more of a winter theme, like Winter in Vail, Hearts of Winter, One Winter Weekend…

    1. Agreed I love the wintery snow themed movies or Winterfest, it was the perfect transition from Christmas, cozy January. Luckily there have been so many good ones made, I’ll be watching old hallmark winterfest classics & some other Winter favs: Groundhog Day, uncle buck, cool runnings, the mighty ducks, the cutting edge, chalet girl. Anything snowy, wintery, ice sports themed.

    2. We love Uncle Buck! 😊

    3. Paula, We love UB too. Just watched it the other night with my nephew. He is 20 and we always talked about it and I tried getting him to watch when he was younger. But he asked to watch it the other night. I love that movie. Over the summer, they played Summer Rental a lot. That movie makes me laugh so hard, the scene when he is trying to find his family on the packed beach. So classic Candy.

  10. Why can't Hallmark return the Hallmark Hall of Fame movies that were once the pinnacle of seasonal hope, miracles and excitement? The ones in the 1960's were the edgiest most wonderful "look forward-to" movies ever! They did not have to contain a romantic undertone, in order for them to be successful and watchable and intriguing! One of the reasons I believe Hallmark has lost its following is because most of the movies are sappy, you don't need destination ones to make them exciting, you don't need romantic interludes to make them exciting, you don't even need to have a romantic couple in the movie to make it wonderful. I think Hallmark needs to regroup and realize there isn't a lot of real true creativity happening anymore in regards to the movies that are made in the whole spectrum of Hollywood, they're either completely fantasy or they're too sappy.

  11. There’s too many movies or based on the books are never made into movies. It’s been a long times
