Great American Family Officially Announces 2026 Christmas Movie - 'A Christmas Prayer II'

Great American Media has some fantastic news to share - a sequel movie is officially on the way!

"A Christmas Prayer II" will be coming in 2026!

During the Great American Christmas celebration in mid-November, CEO Bill Abbott first hinted that this special story would continue, and it was such a joy to hear that news shared with fans. Now, that promise has become a reality, and it truly feels like a little answered prayer for those of us who love heartfelt, faith-filled movies.

A brand-new press release was shared today with all the exciting details! And yes, Shae Robins and Christopher Russell are returning to reprise their roles. I'm grateful that GAF continues to create stories filled with family, love, hope, and, best of all, faith!

Press Release:

Great American Media
Celebrates Instant Classic,
Announces A Christmas Prayer II,
Starring Shae Robins
and Christopher Russell,
Sequel to Beloved Original,
Joins Lineup for
Great American Christmas 2026

NEW YORK, NY – December 17, 2025 – As the 5th anniversary celebration of Great American Christmas enters its final three weeks, Great American Media is thrilled to announce it will produce a sequel to one of the season’s most cherished holiday films. A Christmas Prayer II, starring Shae Robins and Christopher Russell, has officially been greenlit for a brand-new chapter as part of Great American Christmas 2026 and will stream on Great American Pure Flix and air on Great American Family and GFAM+. The sequel promises to delight audiences all over again by celebrating the spirit of giving and joy of sharing blessings during the holiday season.

As the original film portrayed, A Christmas Prayer brings to life a touching story about a little girl who makes a list of prayers, not for herself, but as blessings for others. Each prayer she creates is meant to bring happiness and light into someone else’s life, capturing the true spirit of the season.

“As Great American Christmas celebrates an important milestone this year, we are far ahead of schedule in delivering on our mission of building the number one Christmas franchise in entertainment. And, we are off to a tremendous start in planning for the 2026 holiday season, with 3 movies completed and over 10 projects ready to go into production. A Christmas Prayer II fits perfectly within our slate alongside all the films that already make Great American Christmas one of the season’s most cherished traditions,” Abbott concluded.

  2. So happy about this and this movie has been my number one movie this year. If I am remembering correctly this is also the third movie announcement for next year. The first one was A Sweet Christmas Anniversary and Love Under the Christmas Tree were the other two.

    1. Sabrina, I have contacted both GAF and Bill directly and they are aware of how much the fans want this 3rd Destined Movie. Also Shae had said in a podcast (I believe) or there was an Instagram live she was on where she said that both her and Casey would be open to doing the 3rd movie as well. So we will see! Brittany Wiscomb I believe wrote and directed these movies, so I have no idea what she has coming up or if she is interested in writing another one of these movies! Always seems like there is a lot of parts to this!

    2. Sarah,

Thank you so much for the info and for contacting GAF and Bill. We really appreciate that. I think we are all just wanting this cause they said there would be a 3rd. If they never had said that, many would have just assumed they get married and live happily ever after. They will need to hurry before Caseys daughter is in college and they would have to explain all the years between engagement and marriage. She was such a big part of both movies and I want her to be in them. We want to see Kim and Theo get married. Especially since they (GAF) said there would be a 3rd movie.

  7. I tried to watch Christmas everyday. I watched maybe 2 minutes. The main characters assistant acted gay, so I turned it off.

Christmas at the Inn. I noticed that a lot people didn’t like this movie but I enjoyed it. I thought there were funny moments though out. I liked how it was about helping Veterans and their families. I thought that was a special touch.
Christmas north of Nashville. I couldn’t get into this. I felt that they could have done so much more with this movie. Something was missing.

A timeless tidings of joy. I really enjoyed this movie. I like the trust in God message.

Grand ole opry christmas. I really enjoyed this movie. I liked how she was able to go back and write her song with her father. Sometimes in life we don’t always have the opportunity to spend time with family as much as we want bc life gets in the way.

An Alpine holiday. I thought this movie was interesting bc they get to travel to another country and climb a mountain. I like the sentiment of grandmother wanting them to trade the same journey. But it’s only a one time watch for me.
