Hope you all will have a nice, relaxing weekend. Our weather here in the Midwest is finally warming up, a bit - highs are now in the 40's - 50's (if we're lucky), but the lows at night are still in the 20's. (brrrrrr) That's typical for us in March, so I can't complain. The sun is shining - so it's a beautiful day! I sure hope your weather is pleasant, too. Spring is coming soon!
I'm looking forward this weekend to both new movies and especially, this explosive new episode of When Calls the Heart! Each episode is so intense, it just keeps getting better and better. Last week we were introduced to a new character, Joseph Canfield (played by Viv Leacock from the Hailey Dean mystery series). In this same episode, Lee hurt his back while doing some heavy lifting and Joseph tells Rosemary (Lee's wife) that he will be praying for him. At first, Joseph's comment seems to catch Rosemary off guard, but as she understands his promise, she is taken by this stranger's kindness to pray for her husband and she stops to introduce herself to him. This beautiful, touching moment from the second episode of When Calls the Heart shows us how each of our lives can touch another, in big and small ways. It was wonderful to see this element of faith presented within the story. I'm looking forward this week - when we meet Joseph's entire family, his wife and two children. By the way, the children are actually Viv Leacock's real life daughter, Vienna, and son, Elias. You might recall, Vienna Leacock had a role in the Lacey Chabert Hallmark Christmas movie, Time for Us to Come Home for Christmas, where she played the piano and reconnected with her father. In When Calls the Heart she will portray Angela, a young, blind girl. I'm interested to see how she will fit in and learn with the other children in Hope Valley.
How about you? What are you looking forward to watching over the weekend? Please share in comments below...
Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies listed above; however, an anonymous commenter did share that they have seen My Birthday Romance, and they reported it to be family friendly... so that's good news! If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please be to sure to share in comments.

I loved that scene with Joseph and Rosemary too Net! Everyone's saying he should be the new minister. There hasn't been a regular one for awhile.
ReplyDeleteI agree! It's about time Hope Valley had a new minister and I think Joseph would be perfect for that role. At one point he walked away singing “It is Well with My Soul!” Loved that moment!
DeleteI'm also looking forward to WCTH! I keep watching the preview over and over. Fiona is awesome, I hope the men in Hope Valley start to appreciate her.
ReplyDeleteAnna, I love hearing how much you love WCTH, too! There are so many wonderful characters in the town of Hope Valley. Fiona has been such a great addition to the show ever since the moment she first arrived. She adds, along with Lee and Rosemary, excellent comedy to the drama. Love her!
DeleteI can’t wait to watch Fit for a Prince

Prince Ronan is Prince Charming

Thanks for the good work you do here, Net. Do you know if “When Hope Calls” is coming back. I love that one. Enjoy the shows and warm weather!
ReplyDeleteNatalie, unfortunately, there’s no word yet on “When Hope Calls.” I keep hoping, though, and asking Hallmark (through Social Media) to please bring it back!
DeleteWith the new direction the network seems to be taking I worry that “When Hope Calls” doesn’t fit into that mold, but if more fans or Hearties would ask for it, maybe they would listen!
Blessings on your day... hope the sun is shining on you, too!
Looking forward to these movies and WCTH.

Happy watching, Denise! It's always so wonderful to hear from you! :)
DeleteI’m thinking about when Elizabeth told Jack he was too brave for her. Seems similar to what she said to Nathan. Hopefully, she has a change of heart with Nathan like she did with Jack ❤️
ReplyDeleteThat was such a beautiful moment... I think we'll have many heartfelt scenes like this in Season 8!

Did Natalie Hall appear in another Hallmark Channel royal movie?
ReplyDeleteYes, Natalie Hall starred in "A Winter Princess" with Chris McNally.

Deletekitkat, I'm especially delighted to hear you enjoyed it, now I know it's family friendly & sweet - like you! :)
DeleteBy the way, I posted your review here, too!
Nett. Fit for a Prince is a modern day Cinderella, Fairytale movie
DeleteCINDy CordELLA = Cinderella
Cindy is like Cinderella who works as Head Seamstress with her colleagues whose make gowns for ladies at Charity Ball Gala in the Castle
Fit for a Prince is a modern retelling Cinderella, which now makes a lot of sense.
Did Natalie Hall play in a Hallmark Christmas movie?
DeleteChris, Natalie Hall was in the Lifetime Christmas movie - "A Very Charming Christmas Town." I just rewatched it recently and enjoyed it better the second time around. It wasn't great, but it was a delightful watch, as it is lighthearted and family friendly.
DeleteAs for Natalie Hall in a Hallmark Christmas movie... yes, she was in one years ago! It is "Love's Christmas Journey." It's a 2 part movie and I highly recommend it, if you haven't already seen it. The story takes place in the old west and it even has the true meaning of Christmas! I miss seeing that in Christmas movies today.
Fit for a Prince
ReplyDelete“Cindy is an aspiring fashion designer whose talents have been the creative force behind a high-profile designer but longs to strike out on her own. Hired to dress the ladies of a wealthy family hosting an upcoming charity ball, Cindy’s life takes an unexpected turn when Prince Ronan, in town to attend the gala, becomes smitten with her and also takes note of her talent for design.”
A fun, cute spin on the classic Cinderella tale, this movie is simple but doesn’t fall into the same traps as the lesser Hallmark royal movies
Fit for a Prince
ReplyDeleteAlthough there’s nothing earth-shattering about Fit for a Prince, I was pleasantly surprised at how refreshing the script was. For one, characters within the movie was calling out common tropes in Hallmark movies and fairytales alike. Most of the time, it comes from Virginia. Even though she’s accustomed to an extravagant way of life because of her status, she doesn’t feel that it’s necessary. So, when she meets someone she likes, like Cindy, who isn’t from that world, she welcomes her with open arms and stands up to the bullies in the process.
WCTH
ReplyDeleteThe next episode is "old love" so the secret is def about Jack. Episode 11 new love she realizes she still loves Nathan. Epi 12 "true love" she gets with Nathan... right
