🏰 Roll out the Red Carpet for 2 Classic Christmas Movies starring Danica McKellar! πŸ‘‘

Before the new royal-themed movie, "Fit for a Prince," premieres this weekend, take a look back at a viewer favorite royal movie, "Crown for Christmas!" It's hard to believe this movie was actually Danica McKellar's first Hallmark movie; I believe many feel it's still one of her finest performances!

Get swept away to the castle in Winshire - as Danica portrays governess Allie Evans to a young girl, Princess Theodora, and perhaps, falls in love with Theodora's father, King Maximillian. (or just Max.) This heartwarming movie has been touching hearts since Christmas, 2015!

CHRISTMAS AT DOLLYWOOD

Starring: Danica McKellar and Niall Matter

Storyline via Hallmark: Event planner Rachel Davis returns to her Tennessee hometown to take on the biggest job of her career – Dollywood’s 30th Smoky Mountain Christmas celebration – and is teamed up with unimaginative operations director Luke Hakman to plan the event that has to be as bombastic and glamourous as Dolly Parton herself. And when Dolly gets involved in a little matchmaking, Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas event lights up the sky with joy, laughter and love.

Encores: Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 8pm/7c.

Starring: Danica McKellar and Rupert Penry Jones

Storyline via Hallmark: Allie, a fired maid from a ritzy NYC hotel, takes a job as a governess to a young girl who is part of a powerful family in Europe. After reluctantly accepting, and upon arrival at the castle, learns the girl is Princess Theodora and that her father is Maximillion, the King of Winshire. Max informs Allie that the Princess prides herself on terrorizing authority figures and has gotten worse since her mother's death. As the story unfolds, we see Allie bond with Theodora and also helps to bring Theodora and her father together. And through all of this, a spark forms between Allie and Max. However, Countess Celia is expecting to wed the King. Will Max take a stand for his feelings for Allie and make it truly a merry Christmas for all?

Encores: Friday, March 5, 2021 at 9pm/8c.

  5. I watched Crown for Christmas this past weekend. I'm not a huge Danica fan and definitely not a "royal" movie fan, but I really liked this movie. I liked Danica better in this than in a lot of her other movies. And it didn't hurt to have Rupert as the leading man -- he didn't top his Captain Wentworth performance from Jane Austen's "Persuasion" but, nevertheless, he was quite believable as a Hallmark Prince.

    1. Jane, I know that version of 'Persuasion' very well! Rupert Penry-Jones was quite dashing as Captain Wentworth. I was never certain why he fell so deeply for Anne Elliot, but that's the way love goes sometimes.

It's too bad we haven't seen Rupert in another Hallmark movie since this. I still think it's Danica's best.

  6. Net - I noticed that Walmart has Timeless Love available for pre-order with a release date in May (It will ship on 05/10/2021). I know nothing about this one since I did not see it but I wanted to make you aware if you were not already. Thanks

    1. Thank you so much for sharing this DVD news! I was able to also locate it at Amazon, and I posted it with the other 2021 DVD releases - here - with links to both Amazon & Walmart!

By the way, I have seen "Timeless Love." It is family friendly and everything; however, the story is a little different, somewhat peculiar, but it was still sweet, too. A woman has a dream while she is in a coma, but it's actually sort of true - a dream of the future. Anyway, even though it's a bit unique, I really like both of the lead actors - Rachel Skarsten and Brant Daugherty.
