It's a Wonderful Movie - Christmas TV Schedule soon!

A few thoughts...
Unfortunately, the fan favorite "The Christmas List" with Mimi Rogers and "Christmas Every Day" with Erik von Detten will not be seen again this year.

UPDATE: I just discovered - "Holiday Joy" is the new Christmas Movie with Bailee Madison!!!

Here are the details according to Freeform's Press Release:

Thursday, December 8, 2016

(3:00 - 5:00 p.m. EST) HOLIDAY JOY - NETWORK TELEVISION PREMIERE Joy Hockstatter (Bailee Madison) has been trying to help her dad, Bob, hold the family together after her mom's death a few years ago. Although only 15, she's become a kind of surrogate mother to her brothers. Every day she looks across the street to the perfect house and family - the Wellmans. After a freak accident (which involves some suspicious cards), Joy wakes up as one of the Wellmans, with a new mother, father and older sister! Her new life seems to have changed for the better, only now Bob and her brothers have taken a turn for the worse and the only one who recognizes Joy from her previous life is her old dog, Levi. "Holiday Joy" repeats on Friday, December 9, at 11:30 a.m. EST; and Thursday, December 15, at 7:30 a.m. EST.

  1. I just looked at Freeform's Christmas movie schedule and I noticed that Bailee Madison's movie wasn't listed. Did the name get changed or will it premiere another year? I'm really happy that they're airing "Three Days" again because it's one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time!

    1. I know, I don't see it, either. Could it have possibly moved to another network? Perhaps, Lifetime? Or, like you said... delayed until next year? Very interesting.

    2. I saw on Bailee Madison's IMDB page that there was no date or year listed for "Different Folks". Maybe the movie is not getting released this year after all.

    3. "Holiday Joy" is the new Bailee Madison movie, after all! I updated this info above!

I don't get premiering it at 3 PM on a Thursday, but I am glad to see it made the schedule this year!!! :)

  2. The fact that they are not showing a picture with "Holiday Joy" makes me think that it is not a movie title at all. I wonder if it is something special to be announced (or determined) later.

    1. It is the Bailee movie, Mark. I was surprised to just learn this news. I updated above with plot details on the movie, etc...

I, too, was wondering if it would end up being a movie, like you Mark, but indeed, it is. 3 o'clock for a premiere is certainly unusual, but one good thing is.. I don't think there will be any other conflicts of new movies at that time!!! :)

  3. Im disappointed in the schedule. It's the same movies over and over again. I'm ok with just the first santa Claus. Where's prancer?

  4. The release made a big deal about Holiday Joy premiering on the Freeform app as of December 1. Maybe that's their big push. I do agree that, that time on a weeknight for an original movie premiere seems SUPER strange.

  6. So many movies over and over but there are so many others I miss. The Christmas List was a favorite but it's never shown anymore.

  7. I miss seeing The Christmas List as well starring Mimi Rogers. It has not been shown in over 3 years now. I guess we will never see it again. You know some movies they show more than once during htis time and it would be great if they would just fit it in somewhere. I think the last year they showed it, I stayed home to watch it either during the early am to watch it. All they have to do is not show one movie twice to fit it in. I am sure there are more like me that would stay up late or set an alarm to watch it anytime they showed it. Maybe they forgot what a great message it has.

I think that The Christmas List was dropped from ABC Family/now Freeform, and I guess that Lifetime, UP and ION don't have the legal rights to air it, for some odd reason. I'm sure they would show it if they could, since so many people ask about it every year.

However, I do recall that, sometime in the last few years, I was scrolling through some cable listings and saw "The Christmas List" on some sort of local or independent channel, at some odd hour of the night or morning. I remember thinking, "Oh, there it is! People keep asking for this movie and it's hiding on this obscure channel!" It wasn't 2015, but I think it was 2014 or 2013. I don't know if it was buried somewhere on some unknown local network last year too, as I wasn't as diligent about checking listings.

    2. I too miss the Christmas List with Mimi Rodgers. Is there anything we could do? I tried to buy, but is not available. Something about who owns the movie rights.

    3. You can obtain fairly decent personal copies off of either ioffer.com or sell.com. I resort to these sites when there truly seems no hope of purchasing a retail / commercial copy of a film. You can find all kinds of great older made-for-tv movies that will never get a commercial release.

  8. Seriously, why in the world will no one ever show THE CHRISTMAS LIST with Mimi Rogers!!!! Ya know it's like oldies but goodies are always the best, movies these days are the same ole but with different actors and same story line. Need a very good reason why you won't show this movie!!!

  9. The movie had a different title before (Different Folks) but was later changed to the current name HOLIDAY JOY
