Hallmark Media Announces "Curious Caterer: Drumstick Drama" 🔎 SEE HERE:

"Curious Caterer: Drumstick Drama will be in production for three weeks starting July 28," per Deadline, "with returning cast including Nikki Deloach as Goldy Berry, Andrew Walker as Detective Tom Shultz, Lochlyn Munro as Dr. Richard Korman, Jaycie Dotin as Marla Maguire and Riley Davis as Detective Mason Kildea."

The storyline via Hallmark Media: Goldy Berry, caterer extraordinaire, has a dilemma to solve. A last-minute request caused her to double book herself catering a VIP album rerelease concert while also being booked on a first date with none other than detective Tom Schultz at the same concert. Goldy finds herself playing double duty and things get even more complicated from there when right as Goldy finally gets a moment to enjoy her time with Tom, the lead singer gets electrocuted mid-act. Suddenly, Goldy’s date has turned into a crime scene.

We can expect this new Curious Caterer to premiere in the Fall of 2024 on Hallmark Mystery.

Another Channel 

is changing its name 

at Hallmark!

First, Hallmark Drama became Hallmark Family on February 28th, and now, as of today, March 6, 2024, another end of an era has come as Hallmark Movies & Mysteries is rebranded to Hallmark Mystery!

If you turn to the channel, you will now see the Hallmark Mystery logo, which has replaced Hallmark Movies & Mysteries in the lower right-side corner of the screen.

With the channel newly branded Hallmark Mystery, it's obvious the focus for the network will definitely be back on the mystery genre. So, what does this mean for the drama-style movies that once aired on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries? That question is unanswered for now, but it does seem like Hallmark may be testing the waters during these three weeks in March, while airing their former HMM premieres on the Hallmark Channel in the coveted Saturday night primetime slot. Perhaps, these types of movies will air in the future now on the Hallmark Channel instead. I recall many of us saying in January that the movie A Scottish Love Scheme felt more like a HMM drama, than the typical, lighthearted, Hallmark Channel rom-com.

And the most important question... will *Miracles of Christmas* return? YES! Hallmark has confirmed to fans on social media that Christmas movies will return, beginning in October, on Hallmark Mystery. However, with the premiere of Mystery on Mistletoe Lane last year, it does make one wonder if they may create new Christmas movies for the network centered around a mystery element, instead of the emotional drama *Miracles of Christmas* is known for.

In fact, my hunch has just been confirmed, as I read this statement from Hallmark on Facebook:

Hallmark Mystery will remain the home of the Miracles of Christmas holiday programming franchise. Our holiday movies on the network will remain focused on our traditional, fan-favorite holiday far, and will likely begin to include more holiday films with mystery twists, like last season’s “Mystery on Mistletoe Lane.”

Fans have been asking the network repeatedly to create more of the mysteries they love, so this is their answer to those requests. While there is no news, unfortunately, on the Signed, Sealed, Delivered series and Mystery 101 is still canceled, we do know Hannah Swensen will return (albeit without Cameron Mathison 😦), and we'll see more of Curious Caterer, The Cases of Mystery Lane, The Jane Mysteries, Young Aurora Teagarden Mysteries, and so on... Plus, all of you sleuthers probably noticed that The Dancing Detective, starring Lacey Chabert and Will Kemp, is also prominantly shown in the new Hallmark Mystery promo!

Of course, the Young Aurora Teagarden Mystery movies continue without Candace Cameron Bure, but not to fret... Candace will be starring in her own new mystery franchise on Great American Family titled: The Ainsley McGregor Mysteries! Plus, Great American Family recently reported that the network will be announcing even more Mystery series soon!

So, I have a hunch that between the two networks airing new mysteries and classics, like Murder, She Wrote, there will be plenty of mysteries to solve!

Is there anything special you are looking forward to watching this weekend? I'm curious about the new Hallmark rom-com with Brant Daugherty, but the actress is new-to-me, so... we'll see!

I'm also quite curious about the new mystery! Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker are well-known for their extensive resume of great Hallmark movies. Should be interesting to see how this mystery goes for the two of them; however, since they've already done movies together, they will surely have excellent chemistry in this new one. (This is actually Andrew's second HMM mystery, since he previously starred in "Wedding Planner Mystery." Unfortunately, they only made that one movie.) I presume this will be the first movie in a series of Curious Caterer films.

"The Curious Caterer" is yet another reunion for Nikki DeLoach ("Five More Minutes") and Andrew Walker ("My Christmas Family Tree"). The two actors previously starred in three Hallmark movies together: A Dream of Christmas (2016), The Perfect Catch (2017) and Sweet Autumn (2020).

This will be their first MYSTERY movie together; however, Andrew already has a mystery film in his extensive Hallmark resume titled: "Wedding Planner Mystery."

The previous title for "The Curious Caterer" was "Dying for Chocolate: A Curious Caterer Mystery." The movie is based on the book, Dying for Chocolate, by author Diane Mott Davidson.

There have been rumors of Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker possibly starring in a Hallmark mystery for quite some time. Andrew recently shared part of the script on Instagram and an on-the-set picture - seen above.
