Is there anything special you are looking forward to watching this weekend? I'm curious about the new Hallmark rom-com with Brant Daugherty, but the actress is new-to-me, so... we'll see!

I'm also quite curious about the new mystery! Nikki DeLoach and Andrew Walker are well-known for their extensive resume of great Hallmark movies. Should be interesting to see how this mystery goes for the two of them; however, since they've already done movies together, they will surely have excellent chemistry in this new one. (This is actually Andrew's second HMM mystery, since he previously starred in "Wedding Planner Mystery." Unfortunately, they only made that one movie.) I presume this will be the first movie in a series of Curious Caterer films.

Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.

I'm also very grateful UPtv is airing programming that honors the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. I hope you all have a delightful weekend as we prepare our hearts for this upcoming Holy Easter Week.

God's blessings to you all on this Palm Sunday! Net

SHINING HIS LIGHT:

Jesus Comes to Jerusalem as King

12 The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem.

13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
“Hosanna!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Blessed is the king of Israel!”

14 Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written:

15 “Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion;
see, your king is coming,
seated on a donkey’s colt.”

16 At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him.

17 Now the crowd that was with him when he called Lazarus from the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to spread the word.

18 Many people, because they had heard that he had performed this sign, went out to meet him.

~ John 12:12-18

    1. Chris, I'm not anticipating any mention of Easter in this new mystery.

  2. I think I will wait until Good Friday to watch The Passion of the Christ.

Wondering how the mystery with Nikki and Andrew will be. Andrew was in a mystery a few years back and he was great in it. I don't recall the name of it.

For those of you who enjoy The Chosen, I heard a lady talking about the guy who plays Jesus in the series, and she spoke about the episode with the little children. She said when he finished filming that episode, he immediately left the set for somewhere he could be alone. They became worried about him and went looking for him. They found him crying his heart out and he was inconsolable. Obviously, The Chosen is changing lives.

    1. kitkat, Thank you for sharing that story. Very sweet.

That mystery Andrew Walker was in years ago was Wedding Planner Mystery with Erica Durance (North to Home). I agree, it is such a good one and Andrew was fantastic in it! Hope this one is just as good! :)

By the way, another great option tonight is The Ten Commandments with Charlton Heston on ABC. Blessings on your weekend! Happy Palm Sunday!

    2. Thanks Net for that info. I have the DVD of Wedding Planner Mystery but had forgotten the title.

I have many DVDS of Christian movies, but not sure about The Ten Commandments. Those DVDS are what I plan to watch this week. Wish I had known The Ten Commandments was on Sat. night. I don't check the networks like ABC, NBC, or CBS.

    1. Didn’t take long for A Royal Runaway Romance to fly off the rails. Definitely not family friendly. At least they didn’t wait till the end and try to sneak it in. Will just assume the worst from now on from Hallmark. Wanted to give benefit of doubt but that won’t work anymore.

    2. JoCo, Thank you for letting us know about A Royal Runaway Romance so quickly. I'm so grateful you shared this information with us. I truly didn't anticipate this movie having this content. Such a pity - since I typically enjoy Brant Daugherty movies.

I posted your review to the A Royal Runaway Romance page so others would know before watching.

  4. Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate is based on the books Catering for Nobody & Dying for Chocolate, by Diane Mott Davidson, part of the Goldy Bear Culinary Mystery series.

  5. Two must-watches for me during Holy Week are 1) Jesus of Nazareth from 1977 (in my humble opinion, the best movie ever on the life of Christ) and 2) the silent version of The Ten Commandments. I make a point of watching this old movie very late on Good Friday every year in the dark. It moves me in a way that is hard to describe.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Oops...correction on my part. Although the silent version of the Ten Commandments is very good, it is actually the silent version of King of Kings that I watch every year late on Good Friday. (Can you tell I love old movies, even silent ones?!) It is soooo good!

    1. Mark 25, Thank you for these suggestions. I've seen Jesus of Nazareth, but not the silent version of King of Kings. That sounds very interesting. There's nothing like the old classics, is there?

Blessings to you on this Holy Week!

    1. So the trip was for Amelia to meet up with her Uncle's boyfriend?

      Delete
    2. No, it’s was on the road trip that Princess Amelia to meet up a painter named Wes Riverton in Chicago, not her Uncle Andreas’ boyfriend because he’s not in the movie - it’s referred to Amelia’s boyfriend named Wesley “Wes” Riverton as a boyfriend on the phone.

It’s didn’t mention Amelia’s Uncle’s Boyfriend - I don’t see a guy with Uncle Andreas & there’s no guy for Uncle Andreas but he wasn’t in the movie while Amelia talks to her Uncle Andreas on the phone she wants visit him in America & Wes Riverton (lives in Chicago) when Amelia’s Uncle Andreas said a boyfriend as referred to Amelia’s boyfriend; Wes Riverton, a painter. Camille, Queen Ava, & Princess Amelia of Burnbury visit Andreas in Los Angeles. They meet Andreas’ Head of Security Grady Beck. Princess Amelia sneaks away in Grady’s SUV when he is in it so, she has her luggage. So, Andreas says Wes Riverton oh my!!!, he allows he’s on cross roads country road trip. Andreas leans his car to Grady on the road trip with Princess Amelia from California, Utah, Nebraska (Grady’s parents live), & then Chicago to see Wes Riverton. Amelia introduces Wes to Grady, her bodyguard. Wes & Amelia together at Wes Riverton Gallery. Princess Amelia talks with her Mom; Queen Ava that Wes wasn’t the one for her. Princess Amelia asks her Uncle Andreas about a birthday wish for - assuming a boyfriend is too much to ask for how about visit from his favorite Niece. Andreas leans his car to Grady Beck on the road trip from California, Utah, Nebraska, & Chicago. Grady’s parents live in Nebraska - his family ranch. Princess Amelia & her bodyguard named Grady on their way to Chicago to Wesley “Wes” Riverton but her Mom; Queen Ava was right about Wes was the right guy for her Daughter;!Princess Amelia but there right guy for Amelia is actually Grady.Princess Amelia goes to Grady’s parents’ Anniversary & she finds Grady with Gus the horse at the stable

    4. Wes was the painter of the portrait of Amelia. She thought she fell in love with him and wanted to visit him again in Chicago. I missed the first part but later in the movie, Amelia spoke of her uncle's "coming out". Deleting it from my DVR. Hallmark won't quit!

  9. A Royal Runaway Romance...

This film sadly does have an issue with the uncle(talking about his once gay love 2x. I ended up skipping past his scenes and was so glad I did because the rest of it was so enjoyable. I loved watching the two of them fall in love and his parents and the B&B older couple, still loving each other, so sweet! And when she gave away the dress and the pearls...awww! And also when the older lady looks at her husband and says that he is her home. I almost cried.

    Happy Palm Sunday!

    1. Abigail, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts on A Royal Runaway Romance. The main romance looked very sweet; it's too bad they had to add that other story in to this movie.

Blessings to you on this Holy Week!

  10. I am heartsick over A Royal Runaway Romance! If I had only gotten the first part of the movie and knew the uncle was gay, I would not have watched any of the movie. Like it was, Hallmark got credit in the ratings for my watching most of it. Why are they using my favorite actors' movies to place this trash? I should have waited for reviews today like I said I would. Hallmark is never to be trusted.

    1. kitkat, That is sadly true. I thought this one would surely be okay, but I guess they are going to put it in wherever they can now. I feel just as disappointed as you do. It's very sad to see this. I pray future ratings will reflect viewers disappointment.

  11. Hope you had a blessed Palm Sunday! Thank you for posting the verses and reminding us of the true celebration of Easter.

Not sure where to post this, but wanted to let people know that Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate was good/safe as far as same-sex couples go (I didn't notice anything). Since it is obviously a murder mystery, and includes mentioning possible affairs, I will leave it up to parents as to age-appropriateness. My mom and I enjoyed it. There were commercial previews for Love Classified that were awful, and I may not watch anything else live again for now because of that. I will record and skip commercials.

Thank you Net and all who post reviews for those of us who want to be selective with what we watch!

I will give a plug for Signed Sealed Delivered and say that I'm so excited that they chose to sell The Vows We Have Made as an individual DVD as well as the set for those of us who already own all of the other DVDs. Thanks for putting the affiliate links, Net - I'm purchasing the new SSD through your link as a way of support. God bless and Happy Easter!

    1. Thank you so much for this review for "Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate." I know many have been wondering about this new mystery. The details you left were very informational for those of us deciding on whether or not to watch.

By the way, I shared your review on the Curious Caterer post. Would you prefer to have credit as Anonymous, or would you like to leave your first name/nickname/initials?

Also, I noticed the same commercials you mentioned for Love Classified during When Calls the Heart, and I'm certain many families and young children were watching that. Thankfully, I recorded it, and we watched it a little delayed and were able to fast-forward through the commercials. Because of watching that later, we didn't watch Curious Caterer.

I truly appreciate your review and your sweet comment. I'm so glad you enjoy visiting here! I'm grateful for your support, too; thank you so much for purchasing the Signed Sealed Delivered DVD from my site. That means so much to me!

God bless you, as well, and Happy Easter!!! 🌼

  12. The Curious Caterer: Dying for Chocolate...

100% clean! Just how we all like it! This was a good one. I really loved her as the amateur sleuth! And halfway Detective Tom realizes that she's helpful and includes her in the investigation. The two were so well paired together and the younger cop Mason reminded me of Phillip(Teagarden)

I do wish they hadn't included a ex-husband. God hates divorce. It's sad how so many married couples split over nothing, but still friends. Something's wrong there....Anyway, I really did enjoy this and encourage you all to give it a try!

    Happy Easter! He is risen!!

After ordering something else earlier for him, this little praying bunny and storybook drew me in. My heart's desire is for him to love the Lord with all of his heart. Can not start too early!

Thanks for displaying it here Net so I would know about it.
