Happy Thanksgiving!

Here Comes Santa Claus!!!

Of course, Thanksgiving morning on TV always begins with...
The Thanksgiving Day Parade!

My favorite part is always when Santa comes (finally) at the end waving to the crowds of cheering spectators who line the parade route to get a glimpse of jolly Old Saint Nicholas waving back at them! I just love when he gives that twinkle in his eyes, shakes his belly "like a bowl full of jelly," and "lays his finger aside his nose"! After that, it truly feels like the Christmas season is officially here!!!

Storyline via Hallmark: When aspiring romance novelist Kim Rossi (Alicia Witt) is unceremoniously dumped by her soon-to-be-published romance novelist boyfriend, Garth (Casey Manderson), Kim takes stock and decides to take a leap. She signs up for a romance writing retreat at a quaint Vermont Inn shortly before Christmas, where a top romance novelist is scheduled to attend. Shortly after arriving, she crosses paths with... Storyline via Breakthrough Entertainment: (via Lucy Maud Montgomery online) When Anne Shirley turns thirteen, she faces complex issues with her friends, inspirational adults and Marilla and Matthew. At the same time, she begins a friendship with Gilbert Blythe that emotionally escalates to disrupt the status quo of her peaceful world. Her free-spirited nature is challenged by her perceived need to become sensible, and her journey toward this goal is fraught with confusion and more than a few unfortunate – albeit, amusing – mishaps. Storyline via BYU press release: Instrument of War is an original scripted holiday television special inspired by first-hand accounts of WWII bomber pilot Clair Cline, an American B-24 pilot captured and held as Prisoner of War (POW) in a German prison camp, Stalag Luft I. After being shot down over Nazi-occupied Holland during a bombing mission, Cline and the surviving members of his crew struggled to keep themselves psychologically sound while living in captivity under the rule of a ruthless Commandant. To resist helplessness and bitterness that plagued POWs, Cline, a self-taught musician, crafted a violin from bunk bed slats, the leg of a chair, dried glue from the bottom of chairs and a shard of glass as a wood carving tool. This year’s audience for the parade promises to be in the millions, thanks to a national morning show that has chosen Green River as the site of its Christmas Eve day program. PLOT:

Storyline via Breakthrough Entertainment: (via Lucy Maud Montgomery online)

When Anne Shirley turns thirteen, she faces complex issues with her friends, inspirational adults and Marilla and Matthew.

Through school events and playtime after class, Anne continues to deepen her bosom friendship with Diana Barry. It almost sours when she frightens the living daylights out of Diana’s elderly Aunt Josephine. Just when all is forgiven, their friendship faces an even more profound test when Anne begins to spend more time with Gilbert.

Meanwhile, at Green Gables, Matthew’s health begins to slide. During an outing into the forest he becomes disoriented and must rely on Anne to find their way home. He implores Anne to hide the incident from Marilla. Anne struggles with her promise to Matthew but she’s not one to harbor secrets. In the end, she confesses to Marilla and wrestles with the burden of her betrayal to Matthew.

The rising tension between Anne, her girlfriends and Gilbert culminates with a daring river rescue. Gilbert saves Anne and relishes his moment as her hero. Although Anne is grateful to Gilbert, she must make a decision that breaks his heart.

"L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables: The Good Stars" is the second of three films. The third movie "L.M. Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables: Fire and Dew," is planned to premiere on YTV (in Canada) on July 1, 2017. And, we can expect to see the third movie in the U.S. on PBS in 2018!
