My Future Boyfriend - ABC Family Movie

MOVIE REVIEW

My Future Boyfriend

original title:
Always and Forever

Network: ABC Family

Original Air Date: April 10, 2011

RATING : This movie is Rated TV: 14

Please Note: Unfortunately, ABC Family Movies are not always Family - Friendly. For this reason, and due to it's rating, I have removed this movie from the Family TV Schedule.

CAST:

Sara Rue ... Elizabeth Barrett
Barry Watson ... Pax
Valerie Harper
Fred Willard ... Bob

PLOT:

Can love survive everything – even the past, present and future?

In the movie Barry’s character, Pax, comes from the future, where there isn’t love. He visits present day New Orleans in search of romance novelist Elizabeth Barrett, played by Sara, whose book his culture found during an archeological dig in the year 3125. Pax hopes that Elizabeth will be able to describe the concept of love to him so he can bring it back to the future.

Valerie Harper will play a colleague of Elizabeth’s, and Fred Willard will play the character, Bob, who is Pax’s superior in the future who helps him go back in time.

Movie Review:

Please Note: This Movie was Rated TV-14 with a Caution of Language and Dialogue.

I found the characters to be just as odd as the story. It was rather silly and cheesy. This guy, P-A-X-497/341 (AKA - PAX, played by Barry Watson) comes from the future to the past – which is our present day, to try and discover what the word Love means. In the future the word Love doesn’t exist and people seem to be without emotion or feeling. When PAX goes out to eat – he doesn’t recognize common foods or music. Elizabeth Barrett, (played by Sara Re) is a Romance Novelist, who is intrigued by PAX and his quest for discovering Love. She is already involved with someone, yet finds herself attracted to PAX.

If you like futuristic movies or a bit of Sci-fi, then this might be interesting to you. Or, if you are a fan of Sara Rue, who is always sweet, quirky, and delightfully fun in any role she plays... then you’ll want to see this. Fans of Barry Watson, who is a handsome guy, may not quite recognize in this as he seems strange, somewhat nerdy, odd, and a bit nutty.

All in all, I won’t tell you exactly how it comes about... but there is a future Happy Ending for PAX and Elizabeth .... a great ending to an odd, but sweet... Romantic Comedy.

See or Skip:

Remember, it is Rated TV-14. If it sounds interesting to you, then see it. It is kind of out there - but cute!

Plot:

(from Hallmark)

When a pair of high school sweethearts who ended up living happily never after bump into each other at the most dreaded of social gatherings the high school reunion they each begin to wonder if it's not too late to recapture what they once had in "Always and Forever," a Hallmark Channel Original Movie.

This film reminds us that Shakespeare had it right all along: The courses of true love never did run smooth.

(from Wikipedia)

A pair of high school sweethearts, Grace (Rena Sofer) and Micheal (Dean Mcdermott), are reunited at a school reunion twenty years after they parted ways to go to college. They soon realize that their love has survived the years, but their renewed affection is complicated by Philip (Rob Boltin), Grace's current boyfriend, and the meddling of Grace's mother (Barbara Eden). In the end, however, their love is realized.

Movie Review:

This is a very sweet high school reunion movie. It's very decent, with no language, sex, or violence. It's about rediscovering a love lost many years ago and rediscovering what is the most important thing in life - not work, but love - and sacrificing one's career for it.

This movie was a lot like the other Hallmark Movie - Back to You & Me, starring Dale Midkiff (Love Comes Softly) and Lisa Hartman Black (Clint Black's wife).

Reuniting, after many years of seperation, Michael and Grace, unexpectedly fall back in love. Another sweet addition to this story was the fact that Michael and Grace's assistants meet and fall in love, as well. They are so cute together and excited about being in love!

Also, Michael's happily married, sister, Rachel (Hillary Tuck, The Mom Swap) and brother-n-law, Gabe, (David Lascher, Blossom) give great love and dating advice. Rachel is expecting throughout the movie and is so adorable... always bubbly and sweet, with her pretty and perky curly red hair.

Even though, Michael and Grace try hard to stay focused on their work and their seperate futures after the reunion is over and the job that brought Michael home is over... they soon learn they cannot deny or resist their love for one another any more. It's a very sweet love story.

See or Skip:

See... it's predictable, yet sweet!
