This time, though, it's Mickey who is Home Alone, with his dog, Pluto!

(BURBANK, Calif. - June 16, 2026) Today, the new full-length Christmas special "Mickey's Home Alone" was announced. The special is set to debut in the 2026 holiday season on Disney Jr. and Disney+.

In "Mickey's Home Alone," Mickey can't wait to spend Christmas at home. His plans take a turn when Minnie surprises him and the gang with tickets to spend Christmas at a world-famous Ice Palace. In the morning rush to make it out the door, Mickey and Pluto are left behind and home alone. While Mickey and Pluto must protect their home from two feisty villains, a raccoon and a weasel who are after their Christmas dinner, Minnie and the gang desperately try to make their way back home to Mickey.

The special features original songs "Ho-Ho-Home for Christmas" and "Favorite Christmas Feeling" by songwriter Keith Harrison Dworkin, and a new arrangement of the holiday classic "Jingle Bells," with a score by Tony Morales.

"Mickey's Home Alone" is produced by Wild Canary in association with Disney Jr. The special is executive-produced by Tom Rogers and co-executive produced by Rachel Ruderman, with Shane Prigmore as director.

Doesn't this sound adorable? I know... I know... It is the Home Alone story, but I'm sure there will be plenty of cuteness and uniqueness to this new animation, as well.

Just reading the synopsis gave me all the cozy feels of the sweet Disney cartoons I always loved growing up.

"Kevin Costner Presents: The First Christmas" - Shining a Light on the True Meaning of the Christmas Season

Tonight, well-known actor Kevin Costner (Field of Dreams, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Yellowstone) invites viewers to slow down and remember the true meaning of Christmas in a new primetime special, "Kevin Costner Presents: The First Christmas."

In partnership with filmmaker David Cunningham, the two-hour presentation retells the story of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Christ’s birth in a deeply human yet scripture-based way, offering a tender, real look at the hope, fear, and faith surrounding the first Christmas.

What makes this special especially moving is its focus on the vulnerability, courage, and love shared by Mary and Joseph as they answered God’s calling in a time and place marked by violence, instability, and uncertainty. David Cunningham explained their goal was to “bring people back to the reason for the season - the Christ in Christmas.”

Through Kevin Costner’s calm, down-to-earth storytelling and an honest portrayal of the nativity story, this special hopes to draw people nearer to the heart of God during a season that can sometimes feel overshadowed by hustle and distraction. In the midst of it all... the light of Jesus is what truly should shine!

"Kevin Costner Presents: The First Christmas" will premiere on ABC, Tuesday, December 9th at 8 p.m. EST and will be available to stream the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.

Please know: I have not seen this special, but I am hearing from various sources that it is a wonderful, inspiring retelling of the birth of Jesus that focuses on putting Christ back in Christmas!

As “Silent Night” is sung around the dinner table, a family is welcomed to the table who lost everything in Hurricane Helene. To the family’s surprise, the community of Tellico Plains, TN, has come together with gifts that will help Makayla, TaMarcus, and their two sons on the road to recovery. Makayla works at the VA Hospital in North Carolina and has spent her entire career caring for veterans and their families.

My Quick Take:

This sounds like it will be a wonderful show that exemplifies the true meaning of Christmas—the birth of Jesus! It will surely be a heartwarming program that shows neighbors helping neighbors and giving back to those in need.

I know Jill has such a beautiful heart for bringing people together, supporting our military, and doing random acts of kindness.

After the devastating hurricane, Helene, went through in September, I remember seeing on social media Jill and her friend rushing through their local Walmart store as they were buying up all of the supplies they knew were needed to fill a a helicopter that was headed to the disaster area. What a giving spirit she has!

Also, Jill Wagner is welcoming people to her lovely Tennessee farm this Christmas for a special screening of her new Great American Family movie, "Christmas Under the Northern Lights." The event is called Merry Movie Nights, and if you'd like more details, visit here.
