Wow! Joe Pantoliano and Steve Schirripa playing roles in "Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story". From "The Sopranos" to a Hallmark Christmas movie. How times have changed.
ReplyDeleteJim, Yeah, it's an interesting cast, for certain! :)
DeleteGreat news. I will mark my calendar to watch the GAF Christmas movies. CCB & Cameron Mathison have brought us many holiday classics and this may be the next. Yeah!
ReplyDeleteAs I stated before the Mistletoe Mysteries are great who-done-it stories; I have misgivings about the Christmas setting. However,
the characters have been well developed due to a great storyline and I will save and watch them after Christmas and just think - winter.
As we try to beat the heat of summer, Christmas will be here before we know it.
Take care All,
Gabe’s Mom
Gabe's Mom, Always sweet to hear from you and get your take on things. I also prefer the Mistletoe Murders episodes after Christmas and not during the season. Hope we get some answers in Season 2 to where things left off in Season 1!
DeleteHappy Summer to you! God bless! :)
Did anyone else notice that in the Hallmark "New Movies" preview that they reference new movies coming to Hallmark and Hallmark+, with no mention of Hallmark Mystery? This pretty much clinches it that there will be no Christmas movies premiering on Hallmark Mystery this season...or maybe no Christmas movies at all...or maybe no Hallmark Mystery channel! A shame...for the last couple of years I thought the best premiers were on Hallmark Mystery.
ReplyDeleteMark, Hmmm??? That is interesting. Great catch!
DeletePlus, I don't recall Hallmark Mystery having any specific promos for their upcoming holiday season. Although, since Merry Movie Weekend went by so quickly, I might've blinked and missed it. ;)
Also, I find it odd that "Mistletoe Murders" is premiering their first season on the Hallmark Channel and not Hallmark Mystery.
I've been saying it for awhile... that things aren't looking too good for the Hallmark Mystery channel.
And now Hallmark+ has a new offer of 3 months for $3!
(btw, for anyone interested, you have to use the promo code: CIJ3 and this deal only runs until July 21st)
Should be interesting to see if they scale back more this holiday season on Hallmark Mystery or not play anything new for for Christmas at all.
I do hope this is not true. I have been very disappointed in HM Christmas in July. Not many old movies and I used to be able to put the HMM channel on all day and find good stuff to watch. HM I find barely anything good, cause its mostly new movies and they have already repeated some. Already repeating in only 8 days? Ugh. I was glad to see 2 CCB movies this AM.
DeleteI just know I would barely watch the HM channel and always have on HMM, but that may not happen anymore.
I really try with GAF, but seriously, the same movies are played every 3 days. I thought there was an email from Bill saying they were adding movies to Christmas in July so they didn't have the same movies over and over? Well, that has not happened yet. Some of the movies on that channel are just bad. The acquired movies. I just wish they got more movies. HM back in like 2014 and 2015, they didn't have as many movies so they had other movies like Once and Twice Upon a Christmas, and other older movies toy never see from like 2000. GAF should try and get other movies to make it that the same movies are not on every other day.
Sabrina
PS The cruise show is dumb and bad. The Holidazed is so bad too. I will not watch yet another regular citizen trying to solve crimes and the detective or cop telling them they can't be involved so NO to Mistletoe Murders. I always say I will not start another mystery til we get some closure on the better mysteries that had good ratings but disappeared for HM's pet actors Mysteries.
There is an even better promo code than 3 months for 3$. You get three months of Hallmark+ for FREE with promo code: HPLUS3 and that is good through August 8th. And if you wait until the last day the code is good for August 8th, those 3 months will run you a few weeks into Countdown To Christmas for free!
Deleteso exciting!
ReplyDeleteIt’s nice to see these sneak peeks all in one place! Christie
ReplyDeleteThe previews are nice and all, but so far, we haven’t learned anything new or surprising from either Hallmark or Great American Family during Christmas in July.
ReplyDeleteVery true! We already knew about all of these movies, but it was fun to get some peeks!
DeleteHopefully, upcoming previews will reveal something brand new!!! :)
I sure hope I'm not the only 1 dreading the burnout inducing glut that Hallmark will no doubt be putting out this year.
ReplyDeleteSeems impossible to believe that just 10 years ago, it was just a cozy family network that became my favorite place to be during Christmas. Now it's nothing more then a burnout inducer because they do way, way too much Christmas! (sighs). -Maria
The very first Christmas movie I ever watched on Hallmark WAS on HMM. And since then, I've had a very special place for their yearly lineup.
ReplyDeleteHallmark Christmas has always been about a blend of goofy romcoms and emotional movies on 2 networks. That's what it means to me.
The very thought of the emotional side being completely ditched for 40 + generic sounding romcoms on 1 network and a poorly devised streaming service, depresses me in a very big way. Maybe big enough to consider cutting way back on Countdown to Christmas this year.
Regardless of the ratings, the kind of movies HMM has made over the last 10 years cannot be denied. (nor would they fit in on the main channel).
If we lose M
Just think for 1 moment of how much Hallmark had just in 2019:
ReplyDeleteHome And Family
Bubbly Sesh podcast
Hallmark Family airing classic movies each day
The Hall of Fame
Many fan favorite long running mystery series
A yearly WCTH Christmas movie
A seasonal preview show
Even airing the Movieguide Awards 1 or 2 times.
Guess how much of that is still around: 0. Yup. Nothing left.
All that's left is generic, cheap looking blandness with a bad idea for a streaming service. And turning Christmas into a heavily over saturated event. -Maria
Apparently Hallmark is starting their Countdown To Christmas on October 17 which is unbelievably early - Florence
DeleteHi Florence...last year Hallmark's first new Christmas movie was on October 18th and Great American Family showed their first new Christmas movie on October 12th.
DeleteThanks, Jim - you're quite bright - I could have sworn it was nearer the end of October - Florence
ReplyDeleteHi Florence...it gets earlier and earlier every year which is just fine with me ha-ha.
