What do you plan to watch this weekend?
I have always loved music and singing, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing Carlos and Alexa sing in their new Hallmark movie, Love in the Limelight. I've enjoyed all of their previous films together: Enchanted Christmas, Picture Perfect Mysteries, and Love at Sea, so I'm hopeful this one will be just as good!
I'm also intrigued that Love in the Limelight was written by Willie Aames, Winnie Hung, and Rich Tabach. Willie Aames is well known for playing Tommy Bradford (the middle son) on the drama series, Eight is Enough, Buddy Lembeck (Charle's best friend) on Charles in Charge, and he portrayed Bibleman in the direct-to-video children's series. Willie has also starred in several Hallmark movies, including: Harvest Moon, Picture Perfect Mysteries, Love on the Menu, etc... Love in the Limelight is based on his real-life story of how he and his wife, Winnie Hung, met and fell in love.
Please note: I have not pre-screened the new movies listed above. If you'd like to post a review on whether a film is family-friendly, please share in comments.
Hope you all have a great weekend ahead!

Isn’t Big Sky River with Kavan Smith on this weekend too?
ReplyDeleteJennifer R, Thank you for mentioning that. I did forget to include "Big Sky River" when I first submitted this post, but then I took a look back at what was airing this weekend, and realized my mistake and added it in.
DeleteIt is a true blessing to know I have such great friends here, like you, who have my back. Thank you for looking out for me! :)
Have a blessed weekend, my friend!
Is there reair Scents and Sensibility after Winter Wedding?
ReplyDeleteScents and Sensibility will air for the first time on GAC Family after Winter Wedding.
DeleteI'll definitely be checking out GAC Family's 3 new aquired movies. :) And I'll also watch Love in the Limelight because I love the 2 leads. -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Enjoy all the movies. Of the three newly acquired movies on GAC Family... It Happened One Valentine's, Winter Wedding, and Scents and Sensibility, I would have to pick Scents and Sensibility as the best one of the bunch. I'm curious to hear your thoughts after you watch.
DeleteBy the way, I love Alexa & Carlos, too! I'm hoping their new movie is a good one!
Blessings on your weekend! :)
So looking forward to Big Sky River. They look like they are going to have awesome chemistry. I've liked Kavan Smith since Stargate Atlantis, I'll watch him in anything. Would love to see Alexa and Carlos in movies without each other, but will definitely watch. They're such a great couple. It's awesome that they met at Bible study.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy Big Sky River! Would love to hear your thoughts after you watch.
DeleteI agree... it is awesome that Alexa and Carlos met at a Bible study. It's wonderful to know how much they love Jesus! I typically prefer the movies they do together, instead of with other people, but that's just me.
Enjoy both new movies!
Net, you didn’t post about Big Sky River is based on the book by Linda Lael Miller. Including pictures & teaser trailer
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing that info! :)
DeleteOh, I've been wanting to hear Carlos Penavega sing again ever since his song in" Love at Sea." He is so good!
ReplyDeleteAmy G. I love when Carlos sings "Can't Take My Eyes off You," too! That is such a sweet moment in "Love at Sea." I remember Alexa said she had such a hard time getting through it without crying at how beautiful it was, but you can still tell she has tears in her eyes, which makes it even more meaningful.
DeleteThank you for sharing... enjoy the movie & all the singing!!!
Love on Limelight is based on love story of Willie Aames & Winnie Hung. Willie turned his life around. He became a cruise director, and when his ship sailed into Winnie’s city, they met and fell in love. On March 21, the couple will celebrate six happy years of marriage. Willie’s even written a screenplay about their love story and plans to make it a movie. And despite his “crash and burn” period some 12 years ago, the father of two (Christopher, 38, and Harleigh, 29) says: “I consider my life one of the greatest lives lived.”
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, sweet story about Carlos singing to Alexa! Swoon!
ReplyDeleteLove in the Limelight is based on an inspired by the real-life love story of Willie Aames & his wife Winnie Hung is based on their lives when Alexa & Carlos PenaVega portrayed as Sumner Rivera, a devoted loyal fan of Nick’s & Nick Mendez is Boy Band leader from The Mendez Boyz. - Summer & Nick keep in touch for 15 years & William Aames & Winnie Hung keep in touch for 30 years.
ReplyDeleteLove in the Limelight was so amazing! After everything that has happened this year, I didn't think I'd ever really love a new Hallmark movie again. Until now. :)
ReplyDeleteThough, I do feel it's important to point out that, there's a 2 or 3 second brief glimpse of that horrendous rainbow flag early on in the movie. Usually the moment I see something like that, I turn the whole thing off in disgust, but this one time, I decided to just keep on watching, and I'm glad I did. -Maria

Lacey Chabert Shares the Future of 'Crossword Mysteries' and More Hallmark Follow-Up Movies
ReplyDeleteLacey Chabert talked about some Hallmark fan favorites during Christmas Con in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday
Lacey Chabert has a considerable wish list for future movies on Hallmark Channel, including some sequels to fan favorites.
During a panel at Christmas Con in Pasadena, Calif., on Saturday, the Mean Girls actress delighted fans when asked about her Crossword Mysteries series on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
"I'm really proud of the five movies and I love where they've taken the characters, finally solving the murder and having a romantic ending," said Chabert, 39, as she glanced at her costar, Brennan Elliott, who was on the panel as well.
"They are really fun but it's been a year and a half since we made one and I don't know what the future holds for Crossword exactly," she said coyly. "We'll just have to wait and see."
Elliott, 47, chimed in: "Hopefully, we'll work together on a lot more stuff."
Later, Chabert noted, "Brennan and I have done nine movies together and it's such a pleasure."
In the meantime, she revealed on Instagram Friday that she's about to go film a new Christmas movie and debuted her latest (and 31st!) Hallmark rom-com, Groundswell, at Christmas Con.
Groundswell, based on the novel by Katie Lee Biegel (who also appears in the film), premieres Sunday, Aug. 21 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. Christmas Con in California continues through Sunday. The next one is set for December 9-11 in Edison, New Jersey.

Big Sky River
ReplyDeleteWhen a just-divorced New Yorker books a summer rental in Parable, Montana, she falls in love with a widowed deputy & her neighbor, who presents an unexpected twist?
Big Sky River is family friendly & it’s based on the book by Linda Lael Miller as the same name. Erin & her Stepmother named Tara Kendall are at Manhattan Equestrian Center as they bond a lot of time. Tara Kendall is determined to start over in Parable. Reinventing herself and living a girlhood dream is worth the hard work. Tara meets Boone Taylor is a local Sheriff & a cowboy . Boone’s wife has died, and he’s raising his two sons named Griffin & Fletcher while also working as a sheriff in the small town of Parable, Montana. Tara decides to take a break from New York City and books a summer rental in Parable, where she used to spend time as a girl.
ReplyDeleteTara’s new neighbor in Parable is Boone, and the two sons develop a connection. But when Tara’s stepdaughter named Erin reaches out, the painful realities of everyday life threaten to intrude on her dreams of life in the country. Erin wants Tara as her Mom but it’s not same without her Stepmother Tara & Dad named James. Erin flew to Montana to be with her Stepmother Tara Kendall in Montana. She likes it there & lives there to be with Tara but she didn’t want to back home in NY to be with Dad & Bride to Be Mom; Bethany. Dawson & Erin went to the movie & some ice cream so, Erin calls Tara to pick her up. Erin talks with Tara that if her Dad & Bethany will send her boarding school but she wanna stay with Tara in Montana. Tara, Boone, Griffin, & Fletcher seek out for Erin at Whisper Creek when Erin was rowing π£♂️ the boat πΆ . Erin is safe from drowning. Tara & Erin are both staying in Montana with next door neighbor named Boone & his Sons; Griffin & Fletcher. When Boone owns his horses named Bert & Erine are named after Sesame Street Muppets. Joanna Harrison meets up with Tara who rents a house. She has a Son named Dawson. She has chickens: Roosters & Hens.
I have yet to watch Big Sky River but I just wanted to say, for anyone that might be considering reading books by Linda Lael Miller just know that most of them are not clean (usually include some profanity & sex scenes). I'm assuming (hoping) the movie version will be cute and tv-clean.
ReplyDelete~~Jane
Jane, I appreciate you sharing that book tip with us. That's partly the reason why I don't promote the books that become Hallmark movies any more. It seems so many of them have content like this, which is truly unfortunate.
DeleteLoved The Attraction Test on UP! Watched last night and enjoyed every moment. Is this an old movie Net or a new one? This is a keeper for me.
ReplyDeletekitkat, Good to hear how much you enjoyed "The Attraction Test. It was a new UPtv movie premiere on Sunday night, but it's possible it aired in Canada or via streaming before UP aired it. The release date for "The Attraction Test," according to IMDB and Reel One Entertainment, is 2022.

Scents and Sensibility is a beautiful movie! -Maria
ReplyDeleteMaria, Glad you enjoyed this movie, too! I love the sister's relationship in it.
DeleteI just watched Big Sky River and really enjoyed it. Kavan Smith is such a great actor! It had a bit of different twist with the relationship between Emmanuelle Vaugier's character and her step-daughter, better than the typical storyline of a Hallmark movie. I also thought the actors playing the children did a great job. Definitely family-friendly.
ReplyDeleteJennifer R, Thank you so much for sharing this great review for Big Sky River! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed it. Kavan Smith is one of my favorites, so I can't wait to see this one. It's always fun to see him in something besides When Calls the Heart.
