    1. Skip a Kellie Martin film at your peril as it is invariably funny, well acted and thought provoking. A genuine Hallmark star.

    3. I know just what you mean, Misty... I don't like when the Mothers are portrayed that way, either... but I have liked Kellie Martin since her Life Goes On series.... so I could never miss her in a new Hallmark movie!

    4. I love your support of Kellie Martin, Elsa and Elizabeth... spoken like true fans! :)

  2. Time for them to get somebody other than Kelli Martin to play a young woman. for example Katrina Law, Laura Vandervoort, Sarah Lancaster, Sarah Carter,......

    1. Kellie is chosen because she is extremely popular and a wonderful actress with brilliant comic timing and a rare screen presence. Other actresses are interchangeable in such movies.

      Delete
    2. Why would they get someone else when Kellie is clearly the most charismatic and excellent actor featured in Hallmark movies?

    3. To "Anonymous" above... There are many wonderful actresses today that make Hallmark Channel Movies. I agree, it is nice to see various actresses, from time to time.

And, now since Hallmark is giving us many more movies this year - on both stations, there will be plenty of movies to go around and hopefully we will see more of the actresses you mentioned, as well.

I personally like Kellie Martin, however I would also love to see more of Brooke D'Orsay (How to Fall In Love), Virginia Williams (Reading, Writing, Romance), and Danielle Chuchran (Nowhere Safe).

    4. To "Elsa" above... I, too, like Kellie Martin and I'm looking forward to seeing her in this new Hallmark movie. It has actually been awhile since she has done a new Hallmark movie. Her last one was The Christmas Ornament, which first premiered during the 2013 Christmas Season.

    5. I'm Elsa not "Elsa", Net! "Elsa " is the one in "Frozen" who stole my name! BTW, why are you named after a fishing accessory; I was named after the lion in "Born Free" OK, Enough laboured English humour. Thanks for the responses.

    6. Yes, "Elsa", in Frozen, has your name! Please know, I didn't mean anything by putting your name in quotes... I also put my message to "Anonymous" above, in quotes.

As for my name, "Net"... that is simply just a nickname, not my given name.

    7. No offence taken...and No offence meant. Very grateful for your response. Of course, I realise Net is not your given name just as Elsa is not my given name. Just an attempt at humour. Keep blogging. You are doing a great job.

  5. Kellie Martin continues to provide us with enjoyable, quality performances in all of her work with Hallmark. I for one would like to see a return of the "Mystery Woman" series. :-)

    1. To ALL the "Anonymous" posters above... I like Kellie, too, and it's wonderful to see her in this new and upcoming Hallmark Channel "Countdown to Valentine's Day" movie!

I also think it would be great to bring back the "Mystery Woman" series. That would be perfect for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries!

    2. I like Kellie Martin too but she's looking a bit too old to play a never-even-in-love hipster with a "creative" start up business going against the older established store up the street etc....Would have been a lot cuter with someone who can at least pass as under 30.

    3. have to agree. cute role for a young woman striking out on her own... not so great for a 40 year old. especially disturbing for her to get all emotional about the mother not liking her. if you're 40 years old, you're not looking for parental approval.

  6. I am watching but mainly because of Bruce Boxleitner. He is a great actor especially when given a good script. Networks need to give him a script as a leading role cause he's still got it! :) Can't wait to watch!

    1. Actually, Bruce Boxleitner will be starring in a Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie called “It’s A Crime”. Net announced this piece of news on January 20th. She also said that he will be working alongside Lindsay Wagner.

  7. Who could pay attention to the movie when Kellie Martins horrendous haircut steals the focus in a profoundly negative way! I've always liked her, but whomever did her hair should be banned from ever doing hair ever again.

    1. LOL! That first sentence seriously made me laugh. I agree--that haircut was not cute. I like Kellie Martin and think she's a good actress. Although I don't like all of her Hallmark movies, I thought this movie was THE WORST of them all. It totally didn't even hold my attention after the first 20 or 30 minutes. So disappointing! I was looking forward to it being at least watchable (if not good) because she is in it, but that was so not the case. And it's so funny...this was the first Hallmark movie of hers where I thought she actually looked old! I've always said she looks so youthful and has aged nicely after all these years, but it was the complete opposite in this movie. I was like "What happened?!" She looked great in A Christmas Ornament and that was only a couple years ago! I honestly do think her horrible short haircut was the culprit, unfortunately.

Again, like I said, I like Kellie and think she makes passable movies, so hopefully this bad one was just a fluke. Here's hoping the next one will be better.

  9. I wanted to say more but I was in the reply field. I disagree with Anonymous. His or her words seemed mean-spirited. I feel that Kellie is a beautiful, kind, loving person. She looked great!! I'm 70 years old, and I watch almost all of the Hallmark movies. I know Hallmark has a formula, but it works me. Kellie looks young and fit, and her haircut is very much in style. They worked into the story that she had spent time in another venture in business and had learned from that. She's not old!! She's full nthusiasm and dedication to what feels is important. This movie was very nice, they made the groom's mother human and a friend

  10. Sorry but Kellie is looking way too old and even looked older than the male lead in this movie. I think she is a good actress but the role needs to go to a younger woman. I actually thought the mother in law looked younger in this one... I don't who she was, but she had little lines compared to the Kellie's aged appearance, especially around her eyes and mouth, even lax skin under her chin and jaw.

  11. Geeesh, why is everybody so harsh on Kellie Martin? I thought she looked pretty with the carefree haircut, and, she still looked young to me.

  12. I'm watching So You Said Yes and I can't believe all the rude mean-spirited comments on Kellie Martin above. I guess the haters are going to hate, huh? I think she looks great and the haircut is totally in line with her free-spirited character.

  13. I'm with you! I love her! Great movie!

  14. Why is it that so many people don't seem to mind if a MAN in his late 30's or 40's gets a leading role in a Hallmark romance? Yet, if a woman the same age is cast, so many can't wait to turn into a critic?

For the record, that's not meant as an insult against Chad Willett. I liked his dapper look. It's simply an observation.

Also, I wish there really were more places like Annabelle's store.

    1. I don't think anyone is being mean .. it's just this is a role for someone obviously in their mid to late 20's. she's JUST starting her own business? she's JUST falling in love? not a role for a 40 year old woman.

  15. I guess it's all in "the eye's of the beholder"!! I think Kellie did a wonderful job and I loved the movie. To me she's just a "spring chicken" and should have been a hat model along with her great acting ability.

  16. A lot of this is how much you love Kellie Martin, I myself love her. I've watched three showings of this.

  17. My last comment didn't show up yet. I'm watching this movie for the 3rd time and I love it. It's if you love Kellie and I do. I'd also like for more scenes with yummy Bruce! I'm 70 and totally understand Kellie's character! Great, kind movie!

  18. Not only I love Kellie, I have been a Chad Willett fan for a long long time, and I've been so excited to see this! Funnily, my personal reaction to it was so different from some of the comments above me. I loved the fact that it is someone who is older. Yes, you can fall in love for the first time in your 30s. Yes, you can start your own business in your 30s. Some people do things late in life. Some people take time to find the courage to do something they are really passionate about. And I loved that Hallmark reminded us that this is ok too. That sometimes it takes good things a long time to come and it takes us a long time to overcome our fears, but when we do - and be it in mid 20s or late 30s,, the results are great. The only thing I didn't get is why people here thought the role was intended for a 20+ actress? For me it was very obvious that the storyline was always meant for the characters to be older.

  19. The film made clear that Ms. Blanche had left a successful career in advertising to pursue her dream of opening her own business. I concur
with Shae's sentiments expressed above. Life does not end at 25 or 30.
I left the corporate world in my 40's to open my own small business and I couldn't be happier. By the way, I find Ms. Martin to be an intelligent, thoughtful and responsible adult who consistently does superb work and has earned my respect and affection. God Bless her
    and her beautiful family.

  20. I agree with Shae. Life does not end at 25 or 30. I know many very successful individuals in their 30s and 40s who have walked away from the corporate world to start their own businesses. I'm one of them and I've never looked back. I also fell in love for the first time at the age of 35. Our lives only get richer as we get older and experience all that it has to offer. Ms. Martin is not only a gifted actress she is an intelligent,
thoughtful and beautiful human being who has long had my respect and
    admiration.

  21. I agree with Shae. Life does not end at 25 or 30 it only begins. I know many very successful people who left the corporate world in their late 30s and early 40s to start their own businesses. I'm one of them. I also fell in love for the first time at 35. May I also add that Kellie Martin is not only a gifted actress she is an thoughtful kind and beautiful person
    as well.

  22. I actually like Kellie Martin a lot but this was not her best look. Her performance was good but she seemed too old for the part. The makeup and hair artists for this movie are the ones who dropped the ball.

  23. It's me Elizabeth Gabber in Salinas, CA again. I was so glad to see that "So you said yes" was on this weekend that I watched it three times again, it just made me feel good. I love Kellie, and Bruce, and this time paid more attention to Chad Willett. He's very talented and popular in Canada. He was delightful. And all the comments made here about Kellie's age and hair miss the point.... To me it's a lovely movie snd "Ckaire" even made a remark about Ke's hair, it was deliberate. I love this movie. I'm the 70 year old grandmother who's been praising this movie for done time now.

  26. I just saw the movie yesterday afternoon. I would love to know the song at the end since Shazam & Soundhound didn't find it. I never understand why Hallmark doesn't list the artist/title yet they continue to play great music in their movies!! There is one in particular that I have been looking for months with no response from anyone I've asked on Twitter,Facebook ir emailing the music person from the movie.

  27. I liked the movie but Kellies hair was horrible. Whomever did it should be shot. They made her look awful. That color, those raggity end sticking out all angles. That is once of the worst hair do's or wigs I have ever seen. Awful. It actually was distracting it was so bad.
